Seto clasped Ayira tightly to him; he had to struggle to fight away his tears, which formed a painful lump in his throat and an even sharper pain in his chest. "I-I didn't know if it would work, I'm sorry if I was selfish." He blurted out, unable to make himself comprehensible. "I needed you back, even if I didn't know you. But now I remember again. I'm so sorry." Even these few sentenced were hard to make out. Seto's voice was thick with emotion, and he didn't restrain himself as he might have once in controlling his feelings.

Ayiras eyes had widened. Did he just say... "yoouuu reemmeemmbeer?" Ayiras voice was very slurred and streched out from having a wounded tougne.

Seto nodded, and decided to speak again. Bakura hadn't exactly gone into the details of Ayira's wounds; the thief hadn't really known. He could tell now that something must be wrong with Ayira's mouth; it was hard to understand what she was saying. "Yes. Bakura did it. He said he used the Millennium Key and--" He paused, struggling with his conscious for a moment. "Details were lost on me. I needed to see you again." He broke into a smile, perhaps the first true smile he had had since Ayira was brought back. "You're back. I still can't believe it. You're alive." He squeezed her, momentarily forgetting her pain.

Ayira smiled happly. Forgetting her pain she hugged him back "I luve you..." she toldhim.

Seto pulled away after his embrace. "I love you too." He said, because that was all that he could force himself to say. He would always love her, he was sure of it. Atem had been worried about him after Ayira had died, trying to get him to move on, but Seto had resisted. He had known that Atem was wrong when he said that she was gone, and had known he would prove it no matter what. With a slight start, Seto's eyes widened. "The pharaoh-- I suspect he's angry with me..." He said sourly, knowing the punishment for using black magic. No, he didn't want to think about that now. He only wanted to be with Ayira. "Never mind. We can talk later. Oh... am I holding you too tightly? I'm sorry. Bakura told me what happened, but I--" His voice broke off and he painfully restrained from rambling.

Ayira smiled softly.She gently cupped his cheak and gave him a soft kiss.

Seto kissed her back eagerly, with an extreme passion. He trembled with the effort it took to hold himself back, since it had been far too long since he had been with Ayira. It had been far too long since he had been with any woman like this, at least to his knowledge. He pulled away shortly, still mildly shaking. He didn't want to hurt her, not after what she had been through. "I woke you up. You must still be tired. I know I am." He said, his voice low. His blue eyes sparkled with renewed life. "Would you want to go back to sleep?"

Ayira moved over a bit. The bed was big enough for both of them. "Lay with me" she told him.

Seto obliged readily, glad to be closer to Ayira. Looking at her as he did now, he remembered her telling him, long ago, that her people had considered her as a sort of living goddess. He could see where they might have gotten that idea. He would, as he had expressed before, do anything for her. He would have said something to her, but words would be useless to try and convey the emotions he was feeling, all twisted inside him. He also didn't wish to express these emotions physically, since he had silently sworn to try and sleep, nothing more. He kissed her briefly before laying down and pulling her closer, into a tight embrace, her back against his chest.

Ayira smiled softly. Turning in his arms she nuzzled her head to his chest. She was so happy he could rember agian.

[Gonna skip a little bit, while they take a nap.]
When Atem returned to the palace, exhausted from the afternoon's inconclusive search for Mariku, he was surprised to find Bakura waiting for him. The thief was standing in the front entrance way of the palace, his legs spread a little, his arms folded tightly, a posture of utter defense. He was glaring slightly, for reasons the pharaoh had no idea why. He dismounted, handing the reins to a servant to take the horse away, and went over to Bakura, sighing heavily. "Bakura, I'm tired and irritated and not in the mood to deal with whatever you're about to say. Get out of my way silently, let me go to my room, and I won't shout and have you tied to the back of a horse and dragged around the garden." He was kidding about this last part-- only a little bit. Bakura's angry expression didn't change too much at the pharaoh's words, but despite his glare his eyes were shining with an odd, evilly benevolent light. "I can tell by your state that you have not located Mariku. But that isn't, of course, what I wanted to talk to you about." He said coolly, completely ignoring Atem's statement. The pharaoh's cheeks darkened with a flush of anger, but he kept quiet and shoved Bakura out of the way, entering his palace. Bakura followed with sadistic glee as Atem walked down the hallways. "Your priest gave this to me." He said, hoping to catch Atem's attention. He pulled the Millennium Key out of the pocket in his red coat that he had kept it in. Atem's eyes widened and he opened his mouth to begin asking questions, but Bakura cut him off quickly. "Not the owner of it, of course. No, it was Seto. He wanted me to help him bring back his memories. I agreed, and guess what? His far fetched scheme worked. He remembers everything, pharaoh. Well, almost." Atem had a nice angry outburst, much to Bakura's amusement. The pharaoh was furious, with Bakura if he was merely taunting him, with Seto if he had actually stolen the Millennium Key, and many other reasons. He shot off sharp questions at Bakura, who answered them slyly, not giving much information at all. Deciding that it would be easier if he confronted Seto himself, he asked where the priest was. Bakura answered that question with straightforwardness, and Atem began to storm off int he direction of Ayira's room. It was a foolish question to have asked, since he had already surmised as to where Seto would have gone. The pharaoh could hear Bakura hurry to catch up with him. Atem had been reaching for the handle of Ayira's door when Bakura came closer, grabbing him roughly by his shoulder and spinning him around. The humor had faded from Bakura's countenance, and when he spoke it was through clenched teeth. "I would like you to know, pharaoh, that I owe my very life to your priest." He snarled, pinning Atem against the stone wall, his grip on the pharaoh's shoulders tight. Atem had been stunned into speechlessness. "I would be quite angry if you punished that man for doing the only thing he could have, given the circumstances. If you so much as raise your voice at him for using black magic, I will kill you. This is not, my dear pharaoh, one of my usual threats." He paused a moment to take in a breath, and then spoke with a pause after each word, sincerity in every syllable. "I. Will. Kill. You." Atem couldn't help but stare helplessly at Bakura in shock. There was a fire in the thief's eyes that he had never beheld before, and he knew that Bakura spoke the absolute truth. Would it be worth his own life to get angry at Seto for bringing back the two? Certainly not. He knew that many people would agree with Bakura in that Seto should not be punished, even if what he did was illegal and immoral. With effort, he shoved Bakura's hands away. "I wasn't going to get angry with him, you idiot. I just came here to make sure what you said was true. Otherwise I might have had you punished for robbing one of my priests of their Millennium Item. You'll have to return it. I won't allow your family to leave until you do." That abrupt change in the conversation gave Atem the distraction he needed to slip away from the thief and go into Ayira's room. Seto had half woken up when he heard sounds from outside the room. He hadn't registered what they were at first, nor did he realize where he was. The form in his arms reminded him, and he smiled softly and shifted a little, still holding Ayira to him. He was about to drift back into sleep when the door burst open and, much to his surprise, Atem stood there. He let out a muffled oath of shock and sat up, the sudden appearance of the pharaoh startling him violently. Bakura loomed behind the pharaoh, glowering darkly at him, not taking his eyes off the king even for a moment. Atem strode into the room with a forced calm; Seto remained silent, trying to determine if Atem was angry or not. He clearly was, and seemed to be holding back for the moment. Neither said anything.

When seto jolted up ayira jearked forsing her eyes open "Seeto?" she questioned rubbing her eyes. Seeing the pharoh she frowned slightly. She rested her head on seto's shoulder and let out a sigh.

Atem cleared his throat and Bakura, looming dangerously over his shoulder, growled. Atem shot him a sharp look, then glanced coldly at Seto and Ayira. When he spoke, his voice was calm and even, without a trace of anger. "Bakura informed me that you have gotten your memory back, Seto. Is this so?" Seto, unsure of what to say, nodded dumbly. Atem struggled with what to say next. "Very good. I am glad to have you back, Seto. In the future, please be kind enough to inform me of your illegal activities before you partake in them. I wouldn't punish you for that kind of stuff. We could have tried to find some way of accomplishing the same task without you forgetting everything." He smiled weakly, with obvious effort. "I'll leave you two alone for now, however. I apologize for my intrusion."

Ayira blinked confusedly. Before atem had been mad when he found out. Why was he so calm now. "....Is hes ok?" ayira asked seto.

Bakura had lingered a moment when Atem left. He hardly glanced at the two; instead, he had studied the window briefly. After a moment of silence he, too, turned and left. Seto waited until the thief was out before looking at Ayira. "I suppose Bakura had something to do with it. No doubt the pharaoh will shout at me later." Seto said, with a weary smile at Ayira. He was extremely worried about what Atem would do later. "No matter what happens, I'll never regret what I did."
