From what I was able to translate online, the name Kouhei refers to calmness, peace.
xxxxx ● The kanji 康 (kou) means healthy, peaceful, happy. xxxxx ● The kanji 平 (hei) means flat, even, level, or calm. xxxxx ● The kanji 森 (mori) refers to the term "forest."
Thus the name, put into Japanese grammar of using the noun first would coincide with the family name first, making the name Mori Kouhei, or calm forest. This is a nod to his bankai, should it ever be used. I intend to create an area of Aokigahara, the suicide forest.

Ah, all very interesting. It's nice that you researched it so thoroughly.

when I make a character, it is not halfway done. I like to make it interesting to play, and have some thought behind it. Anybody can make a generic combat gumby, but can anybody make a detailed character?

Oh, I know you pour a lot into your RP characters. I just didn't realize that even extended to the name.

Some are more than others . . . but those that I really get into, oh yeah. It can be an interesting creation process. You should have seen me straining to name my zanpaktou: Aitourensa.

I like messing around with names on occasion, as etymology is a hobby of mine. Granted, I often (for sake of speed/timeliness) end up choosing a name that sounds good that approximates the meaning I am looking for.
Hmm... Ai is usually a root for Love. Ren might be the root of Alchemy, but I can't be sure. No idea on Tou or Sa.

I long ago tried to make up a name that sounded like what I wanted, and just put the two words together. I put together the two words that formed the words Lament and Chain to form the sword name. Of course, I used an online translator, so there was no way of being sure.
Word origins, ne? Of any language, or do you focus on a specific one?

And often translators don't account for conjugation properly, but it's what works.
Well, my personal linguistic interests revolve around Latin, Greek, Japanese, and Farsi. However, in crafting a setting w/ my DM, we have looked to numerous languages for inspiration (including my learning the International Phonetic Alphabet).
