Myyth nodded at Kuro's comment. "Aye, They'd not be dumb enough to challenge us with no hope of winnning.......And I would not put it past them to destopry the club if it meant killing some of us." More than used to cigarette smoke, she had to give a mild eye roll at the fuss over it.
Looking over at Krii'Ouse, she thought for a moment about what he said. "The humans who are aware off too much..." She paused as a diffrent light came into her eyes, and a wolfen grin parted her lips. "Bait. We manipulate them to draw the vampires out."

Using his telekinesis, Krii'Ouse pulled the dagger to his opposite hand. 'Gimme a chance to put it out, and I'll do it. You don't have to threaten me, kin of the Serpent.' Krii'Ouse lifted his boot, and laid his left leg on his right, and proceeded to mush the cherry of his cigarette against the small metal plate in the bridge of the boot.
Krii'Ouse laid the dagger on the table in front of him, turning the point away from himself. He turned his attention to Myythren, who'd just advised they manipulate the humans. 'Uhm... hmm... So, what are you saying? We do whatthe Vampires are doing, and bring this fight to the light, exposing our shadow war? That doesn't seem too bright. Now maybe I'm taking whatyou're implying to extremes, but I really think we should keep this hidden, as we always have, and have needed to. If the mass populace gets wind of our nightlife, the world will be off balance, and chaos will destroy their puny little minds.'
He shook his head. 'I for one don't like the idea, nor do I want to have to live through such chaos.'

Will, who had been silent throughout these proceedings so far, nodded in agreement with Krii'Ouse. "He's right. For decades, if not generations, we have all waged our own secret wars against each other, each faction battling the others. And we have suceeded in keeping our fights out of the public eye. Especially difficult in this current, information age. Mankind believes themselves to be on the op of the foodchain, and have grown comfortable with that flase knowledge. What would happen if these beliefs were shattered? It would be the Spanish Inquisitions, the Salem Witch Trials, and the Nazi concentration camps all over again."
Taking out a flask from his jacket, the hunter downed a small amount of his own homemade moonshine. Just enough to wet his whistle. Finsihing his brief drink, he turned his attention back to everyone gathered around the table, paying special attention to Myythern. "Myyth, I consider you to be a good riend. And I've always respected your intelligence and wisdom. So you of all people should know that mankind as a rule fears and hates that which it doesn't understand or threatens it. What do you think would happen if they suddenly discovered that there truly were vampires, tainted, lycans, and humans with unusual powers, many of which secretly preyed upon th populace in one form or anoher? There's only one path that I can see in our futures if that were to happen. Genocide."
Leaning back in his chair, he turned his gaze upon the others present. "Still, if we can keep it controlled and keep the public from becoming fully aware of the truth, your idea might be a viable option. At the very least, I don't think we should dismiss any idea out of hand without first discussing it. Anybody else have any ideas as to how we should solve our bloodsucker problems?"

"Send me." Lydia suddenly voiced, a bit surprised at her own outburst. Pausing, she recollected herself before continuing. "Send me to Las Noches. Let me talk with Rogue, see if I can learn what they are planning. She has had ample opportunity to kill me before and she has not moved a hand against me. I believe she will not let the others harm me. I...I believe she sees me as a source of amusement at times." The psychic looked a little scared, unused to speaking before so many people she did not know.
"So send me, and maybe Kerrigan, to Las Noches to see if we can learn something, or even capture Rogue. If we could do that, think of what that would do to the vampires. It might work..." Lydia trailed off, her gaze moving down to her lap. It had been out of place for her to speak, and she had been foolish to reveal so much about her relationship with Rogue. At least she had not told them what Rogue had done to bring her and Will together.

Instantly, Will turned a little pale, his thoughts in chaos. She did not just say what I think she just said...
Turning to face his wife, Will swallowed down the bile in his throat at the thought of sending her into danger, possibly alone. "Hon, that's.... that's risky. Very, very risky. We don't know Rogue as well as we once did. Especially after she and I crossed weapons several months ago. Sure, she might like you in some strange way, but with the vampires waging war she might not be able to protect you anymore, assuming she still wants to. I don't... I don't think...."
Then the emotional part of his mind was halted by the other part. The cold part. The rational part. The part of his mind that allowed him to make decisions which could cost people their lives. The situation was simple. Lydia was his wife. He was close to her, closer than anyone else including Edith and Sethe. That closeness kept him from making unbiased decisions concerning her. Sending her into harm could gain them a great tactical advantage. If it was any other hunter, would he hesitate this much?
The answer to that question scared him. No, no he wouldn't. Was his ability to lead being affected by his closeness to his wife? He'd have to consider this later.
Slumping back into his chair, Will turned from Lydia, trying to regain his composure. "I... I don't think that I can make the call whether to send you or not to send you into that situation, Lyds. We... We'll keep that option open, just like the others. Anybody else have ideas of their own, or comments on the ideas already presented?"

Kamahl walked into the room in a smooth, steady pace and sat down near the bar. He had heard of a meeting of the elders a few days earlier...he never thought the he would actually show up and possibly present his ideas. For a few minutes he sat on the barstool and listened carefully to the hustle and bustle of the bar. Finally, he began to speak. "So, I hear that we're having trouble with the vampires again. Trying to get the elders to negotiate outright will be futile."
Visions of vampire attacks in the eastern bloc during the Cold War ran through his mind as he sat there. Fortunately enough, Kamahl had some military experience with the Soviets and that is the only thing that he showed gratitude towards them for. He leaned forward a little and took off his hat. "Playing shadow games with them is an option. Attack the vampires that are roaming about NYC at random. If you get the elders' attention then that will draw them out."
He sat erect once more and looked about the room.

Lin wandered in slowly, seemingly un interested in her surroundings. Her long white hair masked most of her face as she passed by patron after patron...
Only her blue eye was showing, the brown conceiled under a blanket of white as she seemed to stare off to the back of the room.
Her black torn jeans, steeltoe boots, silk shirt and trenchcoat made virtually no sound as she skirted around the tables eyeing each person only breifly.
She had dampened her mind to images, because between the rooms patrons, there was much bloodshed imbedded in their memories. Somewhere in the corner she felt another 'alert' precence...maybe another psychic..or clarvoyant.
The vampire that took out two people in the alley was here too. Lin didnt give it another glance...things are dealt with by their own deameanor...in their own time.
With a final sweep of the room she sensed and the tension in her back was gone. She didnt have to kill anything tonight, or die trying.
with that she nodded and exited the room as silently as she entered.

((Gunner, Kamahl, liniari, we're doing something storyline related here. Normally I wouldn't care, but some of you have been double posting and it's pretty obvious that this is related to the storyline. So, could you please keep your posts to a minimum in this thread until we're done? Thank you.))
Neko tapped her lower lip and thought to herself for a moment. Send in Lydia, the woman she and the others had tried to save....would everyone be willing to try and rescue her again if this went wrong?
"No, it's foolish to send you into elder territory with only one person as backup. The vampire elders are elders for a reason, and if it went wrong, you and Kerrigan wold most likely end up captured or dead. I'd volunteer to go with you, but I have never been friendly with the vampire elders except Alexz, even though Kyrre, Rikku, and I have a...shared experience." Neko paused for a moment closing her eyes and gaining a better grip on her emotions.
"Regardless, sending in just the two of you would be downright stupid. I could use Illusion to mask myself and others so that we could go with you, but from what I know of Rogue, I think she would only talk to you two privately..." Neko mulled her thoughts over, trying to think of something that might make this work.

Will lightly sighed in relief. Lydia was safe from her own idea. It relieved him greatly. It really was a risky, downright suicidal idea. But... it had some small, miniscule amount of merit. Modern wars, especially shadow wars, were won and lost by information. Which ever side had the most reliable, useful intel in a conflict more often than not was the victor. Furthermore, if false intelligence could be passed on to the enemy at the same time they were gathering solid data, that would make for an even greater advantage. The only reason the D-Day landings had succeeded and WWII ended in the Allies favor was because the Nazis had been so convinced that the invasion of occupied Europe would take place at Calais, not Normandy, and thus had been unprepared for the Allied assualt. If someone with enough mental shielding to resist Rogue's psychic probes and let her only see what they wanted her to see, then even if the attempt at espionage turned into a complete ******** they could still damage the vampires efforts by giving them bad intel.
The problem was, any mission of the sort would be a suicide mission, as had been stated. They'd have to be willing to most likely sacrafice one of their comrades. And anyone who could pull it off would be too valuable to lose. It would have to be someone trusted enough and crazy enough to do such a senitive mission. They would have to have superior psychic shields, regardless of whether they were a psychic or not. They would need to have no fear of death, and be highly resistant to potential tortures. And if they had any chance of coming back out alive again, then they'd need an extreme set of skills an talents. The ability to fight their way out through heavily armed guards, probably without weapons. Unnatural speed, strength, and tougness. And probably the ability.. to... heal any damage...
Coming to a grim conclusion, Will bowed his head. "It's as Neko has said. Despite the merit this plan has as an intelligence gathering operation, it's risky and suicidal. We should come up with a better plan. However, if nothing else seems as viable as this, I do know of one person who has a slim chance of meeting with Rogue and making it out alive, even if things turn out for the worst. I also personally know, that the individual in question is more than willing to partake a mission as dangerous as this if it might help our cause. But for the moment, let us all formulate other plans and discuss different options. This is a group effort, so we need to try to come to decisions as a group. So, who's next?"

Krii'Ouse knew exactly what Will was thinking. Mainly because he was almost always, unintentionally, in his head. Slight side effect of them being blood-bonded, and so close to eachother. He turned to Will, and stared at him with a glare that was only rivalled, and pummeled down by a woman's stare. He punched his brother in the arm, and spoke with a firm voice. 'Hell. No.' He stared even harder, but still not rivalling a woman's gaze. 'HELL no. Don't even think about it, Will. That person is necessaryto us, and if he goes in and gets his a** killed, what the ******** will become of us Hunters?'
He knew he wasn't being entirely subtle, and the cat was probably out of the bag, so to speak. '******** Hell no. If they go, you know who else will have to go, and that won't be pretty.'
He turned back to the meeting, frustration painted on his face. 'Please, someone... come up with something more intellegent.'
