Rose's Sylveon arrived at Rei and Maddy's location first, then Rose got up there as well and saw the opening "Awesome!" Rose nearly squealed because she was so excited "This must be it. Xerneas must be here." she said as her Sylveon rushed inside the crack suddenly.

*I hear Maddy's yell*
Me: Sounds like she found something...
*I head over to the crack*
Me: Is that healthy for the tree? Oh well.
*I get a good grip on the tree and climb in/up*

Michael heard the captain yell for them to join them and he ran until he had to climb. It took him a minute to make the climb but he eventually made it up there and stopped to help Caesar as well. The two headed for the opening and waited for the rest.

a**lén sighed a bit, stretching her back as she climbed the tree so slowly. Her arms were aching. Her Pokémon were hurt...
But at least she now could claim another battle to her repitoré.
Still, she had to look at the dark hole haphazardly. "Seems a bit dangerous..." she muttered, before following her team.
Better to be as a group than otherwise.

Rei chuckled at Rose's excitement.
"I bet you and Xerneas would be pretty good friends. Fairies seem to really like you," he said, a smile on his face. It was good to have happy faces in the team; he needed a reminder to cheer up after the unpleasant thoughts from yesterday.

After Ace finished, she heard Maddy's voice. Had she found something? She rushed toward the captain and made her way climbing the roots. After a few minutes of huffing and puffing, she eventually made it up.

Since a couple members had already rushed ahead into the crack before Maddy could explain herself, she simply shrugged and followed suit. The crack was dark and narrow, but there wasn't much need for light since it seemed to be a straight path with little curving.
After a few tense moments, Team Aqua filed out into a large opening. It seemed the inside of the tree was hollowed out. In the middle of the room was a 10 foot high, stark white tree, with absolutely no leaves. A light shone down into the room from way up above, not directly onto the tree. Maddy could not see the source of the light because of how high up it was, but she could only assume it was sunlight, even though she could've swore it was currently night-time.
"This must be what we were looking for..." She said, calmly approaching the tree.
She looked down at her scanner and found it was giving out clearer readings than it ever had before. Maddy smiled and stopped a few metres from the tree.
"Let's not get too close." She said. She took note that the angle of the light was changing and it was slowly moving onto the tree.
"I wonder what will happen when the light is directly over the tree... It seems we may have a few minutes of waiting still."

Rose knew that Maddy told her to wait, stay back, and watch, but her Sylveon was at the base of the tree thing, and looked right her way. "Veeeon." said her Sylveon, and Rose found herself wishing she could speak Pokemon, but hopefully her Sylveon would be able to reassure Xerneas that they were friends if it woke up. Rose moved a bit closer, but still kept her distance, watching excitedly.

Michael and Caesar followed the rest into the crack and after a few minutes of walking they entered the hollowed out center and stopped. Michael let out a shrill whistle and Caesar just stared at the sight.

Caleb kept his mouth shut as Rei and Rose talked about Xerneas and fairy pokemon.
Fairies.
Besides his Togepi, fairy type pokemon made him nervous. Even Rose' Sylveon. Usually by the way they watched him whenever he used to walk down Route 7 on his way to Camphrier Town, and vice versa on the way back home. They rarely came up to him, but when they saw him...
Caleb had always been confused by it.
Once or twice on rare occasions he'd be stopped by one wanting food. Other times? Nope. Just the staring, and the chattering amongst themselves.
Maybe this time it would be different.
Caleb kept his hands in his pockets as he followed Maddy and the others into the large opening. His Chinchou and Marshtomp were close beside him.
He looked at awe at the white tree, nodding dumbly to Maddy's warning them not to get to close. Just the sight of the tree made Caleb feel numb for a second.
Get a hold of yourself Caleb. It's just a tr-sleeping legendary pokemon.

a**lén heard those prophetic words coming out of Maddy's mouth, frowning slightly. She knew she had the eagerness to face what came, but there was only so far she could push Kiptastic.
She turned her head to face Maddy, her tan eyes showing a sense of almost apprehension. "I know this sounds awfully cliqué, but it feels... ominous?" She tried to place a good word down. Maybe it was a bad use-age. Perhaps 'the world is holding a breath' sounded better.
She saw the little fairy Eevee Pokémon walk closer towards the little tree, and felt a sweatdrop form on the back of her head.
She didn't know how to feel about this...

After a few, tense moments, the light shining down from the top of the tree was now directly on the sleeping Xerneas. Rainbow sparkles danced in the air surrounding the white tree and it began to glow with an ominous blue light.
"Is it finally wak--!"
"So you beat us to it."
Maddy whipped around to see Lysandre and a small group of his admins and grunts gathered at the entrance.
"Lysandre!"
"Yveltal should be waking up soon, back at my hideout..." The evil man said. "But I need two Legendary Pokemon to complete the collection."
Maddy shook her head.
"That's too bad. You're not getting a second."
She turned to her team mates.
"Let's take them out!"
[Reserve your post. Ace will fight Celosia again; her Pokemon are Manectric, Drapion, Dragonair, Snorlax, and Swellow. Michael will fight Bryony; she uses Liepard, Bisharp, Lairon, Pyroar, and Armaldo. Caleb will fight Mable; she uses Houndour, Weavile, Feraligatr, Machamp, Haxorus.
Everyone else will fight one Team Flare grunt with 2 Pokemon if you're tier 5, 3 if you're Tier 4, 4 if you're tier 3, and a full team of 6 if you're tier 2 or higher.]
Maddy approached Lysandre. The two glared at each other as they sent out their first Pokémon. An Alakazam and a Mienshao.
"Psychic!"
Tiresias' eyes glowed with an eerie blue light as it attacked Mienshao with a powerful mental force. The attack hit hard, but the weasel-looking Pokémon was still standing.
"Payback!"
Lysandre's Pokémon lashed out with a powerful punch, imbued with dark energy. Since Tiresias had moved first, the attack hit twice as hard. The Alakazam reeled backwards, nearly OHKO'd from the attack. Lysandre smirked.
"Whatever. Psychic again!"
This attack finished off the Mienshao. Maddy had been lucky that her Alakazam was the faster of the two. Lysandre sent out his Honchkrow next.
"Dazzling Gleam!"
The powerful flash of pinkish light hit the crow Pokémon hard.
"Dark Pulse!"
A wave of dark energy burst out from Honchkrow and hit Alakazam, finally taking down the Psychic-type Pokémon. Honchkrow's ability, Moxie, kicked in and it received an Attack boost. Maddy sent out her Garchomp next.
"Stone Edge!"
Garchomp smashed the ground, a sharp rock bursting out from the earth. He grabbed a hold of the rock and rushed forward, slashing at Honchkrow. The bird Pokémon fell, knocked out. Out next was Lysandre's Gyarados.
"Stone Edge again!"
Garchomp rushed forward and struck the enemy Pokémon hard. Gyarados would prove a little harder to beat, though.
"Ice Fang!"
Gyarados bit down on the Dragon Pokémon with fangs that were icy cold. Garchomp cringed from pain and tore himself away from the larger Pokémon.
"Rock Tomb!"
Garchomp pounded the walls of the tree and a few rocks fell down from way up top, landing on the Gyarados. The attack wasn't as powerful as Stone Edge, but it cut down the Pokémon's speed.
"Another Ice Fang!"
This attack finished off Maddy's Garchomp. Gyarados received an Attack boost thanks to Moxie. She recalled the Pokémon and replaced him with her Raichu.
"Thunderbolt!"
The attack hit hard, but Gyarados was still standing.
"Earthquake!"
The attack was devastating, but Raichu managed to just barely hang on.
"Thunderbolt!"
This second attack finished off the mighty Gyarados. Next out was Lysandre's Grovyle.
"Reversal!"
The attack was powerful with Raichu being so weak, but it wasn't enough to finish off Grovyle.
"Leaf Blade!"
Grovyle rushed forward and slashed Raichu with one of the sharp leaves protruding from it's wrist. The attack was a critical hit and finished off Maddy's Pokémon. She replaced him on the field with Fletchinder.
"Slam!"
Grovyle slammed it's body into Fletchinder, dealing a moderate chunk of damage.
"Flame Charge!"
Fletchinder's body erupted into flame as it tackled Grovyle and finished it off. She received a Speed boost. Lysandre's last Pokémon was a Raichu.
"Thunderbolt!"
The attack hit Fletchinder hard, but she still had a bit of fight left in her.
"Another Flame Charge!"
The attack dealt a decent bit of damage and boosted Fletchinder's Speed once more. Now she was faster than Raichu and would attack first on the next turn.
"Fire Blast!"
It was certainly a bit of a gamble, since the attack wasn't too accurate, but sure enough, the powerful torrent of flame hit Raichu. It wasn't quite down for the count, but the Pokémon wasn't looking too hot.
"Thunderbolt!"
That was the end of it for Fletchinder. Next out was Maddy's Lucario.
"Reversal!"
The attack hit Lucario hard since Lysandre's Raichu was so weak, but Maddy's Pokémon still had a lot of energy left to fight.
"Earthquake!"
The inside of the tree trembled with the attack and Raichu fainted, ending the battle.
