Bakura followed Seto's gaze over to his wife and children, then shrugged. He addressed Rei softly, his voice betraying no emotions whatsoever. "Why don't you take the kids and get yourselves taken care of. I'll see you when I'm done with whatever he wants." Though Bakura would never admit it, he had a deeper respect for the priest after what had gone on prior to his death. Besides, he did owe the man back for bring him to life, even if this guy didn't remember. Bakura waved a little at Rei, as though shooing her, and then the priest took a hold of the red coat, tugging on him to signify that they should get going. Bakura was irritated at this and shook Seto off, but followed behind the brunet as he began to walk away.

Bakura grinned fiendishly at Rei before she moved away. Of course he would behave. What kind of person did she think him to be? Seto pushed open a door and motioned for Bakura to enter; it was the palace study, various scripts on shelves on the walls. Bakura, thinking somewhat in modern terms, might have called it a library. A small table, with papyri strewn across it, was in one corner. Bakura glanced curiously at the symbols, but couldn't have understood it any better than he could have read English. He looked back to Seto, who was searching through his robes. "If you really want me to help, you're going to have to explain what it is you want me to--" Bakura began, but was cut off when the priest pulled a golden object out from a pocket. It was a Millennium Item, to be sure, but not the Millennium Rod.

"You said something, much earlier, about this being able to help." Seto explained, noticing that Bakura had lapsed into silence. He held out the Millennium Key to Bakura. "I asked about it of the other priests. This has to do with memories, and the ability to go into another person's mind. I didn't want to ask Shada to do this. I stole it from him this morning, after drugging his supper. I wish to finish this quickly, before he wakes up or someone else notices that it's gone." He pressed the key into Bakura's hand, his unblinking blue gaze narrowing somewhat when he saw that Bakura wasn't reacting much. "Will you help?"

"You're a damned nuisance." Bakura murmured, looking up from the ankh in his hand to Seto. "I can understand why you wouldn't want to ask some of the other priests. But surely there was someone else. What about the pharaoh? You're buddies with him. Why me?" He moved slowly away from Seto, to lean against the wall. His hand closed tightly around the Millennium Key; this was an opportunity he wouldn't want to pass up. Yes, he had some knowledge in how the Millennium Items were to be used. More than some passer by, at any rate. He also knew the punishment for trying to use it when the user wasn't worthy. However, it was fine for him to activate both the Millennium Ring and Rod, as he had briefly done in the past. The Millennium Key couldn't be much different.

"The pharaoh is gone; I would have asked him. You had come in today, while I was worrying about the pharaoh leaving. I just thought that it might be worth it to ask you. I wouldn't have sought you out, of course. But since you had come by..." He trailed off, realizing that he was beginning to repeat himself. Seto now wished that he had confided in the pharaoh, because that might have made things go smoother. That wasn't an option now, of course. He changed the subject quickly. "Ayira deserves better help than I can offer. Besides that, I also realized that I can't keep this priest thing up much longer. I need my memories back. You owe me, for bringing you back to life."

Bakura shrugged, closing his eyes briefly before his gaze fell on Seto's face. "You've made your point, I suppose. I do owe you. I'm not guaranteeing anything, though; I don't even know how to work this damned thing. I'll try, though. That's the most I'm saying." Seto nodded eagerly, and began to explain how he had seen Shada use the Millennium Key before. Bakura didn't know how much good knowing the motions would do him, since the Millennium Items were mainly a mental thing. He lifted the golden item slowly, and Seto shut his eyes. Bakura pressed the metal tip of the ankh against Seto's forehead, and turned it. There was a click, and Bakura found himself in Seto's soul room.

Only a few moments passed in actual time. Bakura was surprised to find that when he returned to his own body, everything remained the same. How long had he been? Not too long, or a servant would have tried to move them. The sun was in the same place in the sky, he noticed, glancing out the window. He lowered his arm, realizing that he had the Millennium Key still held to Seto's forehead. The brunet's eyes opened halfway, looking rather blank. The priest blinked, and they cleared. "Are you okay?" He asked, resisting the urge to help support Seto. He looked unsteady on his feet. "Do you need...?" He had done his best to help unlock the sealed memories in Seto's mind. He had been alone, so he wasn't sure what had happened. Was this the real priest, his memories restored?

"It worked?" Seto put a hand to the wall to stop from falling. He didn't understand, nor did he want to. The last thing he recalled was his sacrifice to the gods, the spell, to get Ayira back. Now he was miraculously back in the palace, and Bakura stood before him, holding a Millennium Item. Had he brought the thief back instead? "Ayira-- Did I-- Is she-- Where--" He found himself out of breath, suddenly exhausted. Bakura drew him away from the wall, heading towards the door.

"She's here. Alive." Bakura knew quickly that his attempt had worked. He saw that the priest was weakened, and helped him sit down on the chair near the door. "If you're asking me, I guess you don't remember what happened after your memory was originally lost. You snuck off to the desert to do your black magic, to bring Ayira back. For some reason, I can't remember why, I was brought back as well. You completely didn't remember anything..." Bakura filled Bakura in on what he knew. Seto let out an exclamation of surprise and anger when the thief told him about Mariku being back as well.

"What?! Him?" Seto had to rub his forehead, wincing. "I never did anything-- He shouldn't have--" Bakura silenced him with a sharp word, and told Seto about what Mariku had done. Seto couldn't find the words to speak for a few long moments. "He... Oh, god, Ayira..." He murmured, staring at Bakura in horror. He instantly tried to get to his feet. "I have to see her, I need to--"

Bakura grabbed Seto's shoulder in a tight hold. "You don't even know where she is. But don't try to go rushing off too quickly. I need to go check in on my wife, and then we can ask the queen where Ayira is and I'll help you to her room." Bakura said sternly, getting to his feet and pulling Seto up as well. "I don't think much time has passed, but I want to make sure Rei has settled down. Come on." He left no room for argument. Bakura retraced his steps to where he had parted from Rei, and went into the closest guest room, hoping she hadn't wandered too far into the palace.

Luckly rei was in that room. She was laying on the bed. Her two children were cuddled up to her almost asleep. This was why rei was being quiet. To help her children fall asleep.

Bakura's eyes lit up when he saw Rei; it was an involuntary reaction to her, especially when he had been worried. He caught his wife's eye and, seeing that she was trying to get the children to get to sleep, motioned for her to come out of the room so that they could talk in the hallway. He would have left the priest out there if he had trusted Seto not to go off in search of Ayira. The priest fidgeted in anticipation and annoyance; he couldn't care less about Bakura and his wife. He needed to see her.

Rei smiled softly and shifted. The kids groaned softly but staid asleep. She followed bakura out of the room.

Outside, Bakura quickly motioned towards Seto. "I got his memories back. He stole the Millennium Key and asked me to do it. He's... back to normal, more or less." The thief gave a slightly puzzled look to the priest. Seto said nothing, but instead kept looking over his shoulder anxiously as though expecting to see Ayira. "I thought to come by and check on you and the kids before I took him to see Ayira. He's worn out, I'm sure, and needs some help moving around. Do you want to come as well, talk to Ayira, or would you rather wait here?"

Rei smiled softly "i'll stay here. I dont want to leave the children alone." rei told bakura.

Bakura nodded seriously, and Seto raised his head to look at Rei. After Ayira and Bakura's deaths, he had watched both himself and her go through horrendous grief. Bakura was back, alive and well, and it was clear to tell by her improved state that everything was well again. He hadn't paid much attention to her in the years following their beloved's deaths; he was too worried about himself. Nanu had been the main one to offer sympathy to Rei. This didn't matter to what was currently going on, though. "You look better." He said to Rei, with a short nod of his head. "I never planned on bringing your husband back along with Ayira... I'm glad that it worked out how it did, though."

Rei smiled softly "Yea...Thank you for bringing him back." rei said. Life hadent been worth it since he left. "maaaaa" kek whined from inside. rei smiled "you sould go see ayira" rei said before turning to go back in to deal with her son.

Seto nodded, in full agreement with Rei. Bakura had a fairly good idea as to where Ayira would be kept, and didn't bother stopping a servant or anybody else to ask where she was. He helped Seto to the infirmary, which was really just a set of rooms with single beds and a few other pieces of furniture in them. Ayira, after the attack from Mariku, had been brought to one of these rooms. Bakura found hers, and opened the door for Seto to go in. He decided to let the priest enter alone, knowing that this might be better off if he wasn't looming in the doorway.

Seto didn't bother to stop and thank Bakura when they reached Ayira's room. It didn't matter, though; Bakura already understood his gratitude. Seto hurried into the room, and nearly broke down when he saw Ayira. She would still be somewhat bruised and battered from Mariku, but she was alive. Seto was too speechless to move from the doorway; he couldn't even bring himself to go over to her and see if she was awake.

Ayira was fast asleep in the bed. She was still exsausted from all the stress and had alot of healing to do.
PostPosted: Fri Oct 10, 2008 6:53 pm

After struggling to control himself, Seto went to Ayira's side. He knelt besides the bed, not even bothering to draw up a chair. Everything was exactly as he had remembered, even if his memory had grown fuzzy. It was as though the past few years hadn't passed at all. He lifted one trembling hand and brushed away her fair hair from her face. Yes... This was the one thing. He would fight for her, to keep her, for as long as he could. At times he had doubted his reason for wanting to bring her back, knowing the punishments and what might happen. He had preformed the magic knowing his memory would be lost. He had never once thought he would get to see her again. The sight of his sleeping lover reduced Seto to tears; he sobbed without concern of Bakura, or the pharaoh, or anybody else who might be around. Ayira was his life, and he had gotten her back.

The crying had sturred ayira from her sleep. She was confused for a moment but seeing seto crying she gently wraped her arms around him and held him close. Not knowing he got his memories back she thought she would just be pushed away..but she dident care. She would fight to get her seto back.
