Maia paused, but did not seem surprised. She followed the two towards the dining room, sat, and nibbled at her own bagel. "Luca told me about clubs," she said, helpfully, looking to Dari. "I bet Toby could take you to one. Or Lori--"

Toby really didn't mind gay clubs. He'd been a male stripper and gone with Lori several times. Of course now he had a girlfriend, so dancing with gay men with straight-boy fetishes was out of the question.
"I'll call Lori," he said with a nod, "Maybe we could go tonight?"
Dari smiled and nodded. "I'd like that." Honestly he was on the lookout for those shallow, exciting sorts of feelings that humans got to have. He had no desire to have sex with anyone or kiss anyone, but to dance and sweat and attract other men sounded like fun to him.
"Are you coming, Maia?" Toby asked with a smirk.

Maia blinked. "Me?" she asked. Well, she supposed a club full of attractive gay men wasn't the worst place a girl could go... And it was all for Dari's benefit. "Alright. We can dance."

"Cool. So it'll be a group date," Toby said, "With focus on finding Dari someone pretty." Otherwise he might just lose himself in the atmosphere. He was bound to be the DD anyway. Presumably Dari would want to try an alcoholic drink or two and who knew how it might affect him? He wasn't sure Dari knew what clubbing quite meant when you picked out a specific person and got close. He was smart, though. He'd 'watched videos'. He must have some idea. Hopefully Dari wouldn't turn out to be a hedonist; it'd be so again what Toby thought of him it'd probably be honestly disappointing.

"It'll be fun," Maia said, and then looked to Dari. "We'll find you someone to dance with." She finished off her bagel. "Do you want something to drink?" she asked, looking between the two boys. "Juice, milk?"

Dari excitedly got up and looked at what they had in the fridge. Cranberry juice. Nice! Smacky. Unusual. He wasn't sure if he liked it, but he liked tasting it.
"What do you want, Maia?" he asked. She had offered first anyway! He was pouring himself a glass. "Toby?"
"Orange juice, please."
"Coming!"

Lori was just as surprised that the sexless, genderless Dari-turned-Darren had come out gay, but he was more than willing to help introduce him to the culture. Luca was invited with more than a little nudging; Lori didn't want to be there alone. He wouldn't be able to enjoy himself making sure Dari didn't do anything he'd regret.
It was well into the night when the group sidled into the club, one that Lori and Toby had been to before. It was less sleazy and there were no shows planned for the night so it should be pretty alright for a first go. Dari was terrible excited and Toby couldn't help but find it amusing.
As they walked through the door they were assaulted by loud music and thrumming bass. Some of the patrons sat at the bar, flirting or chatting or just plain old drinking. There were some tables here and there, but mostly it was bodies and busyness. The dance floor was filled with men, some shirtless, moving in time to the music, some of them paired off in the swell.
Dari was overwhelmed at first. There was so much to see and hear and smell! He eyed the bar and wondered if he'd like to drink. Maybe, maybe not. He turned to Lori with a questioning glance.

Maia was...entirely uncomfortable. She'd never liked crowds, and this one was especially loud. Men plied with booze, some were shirtless--and this was awkward. She took Toby's hand immediately after entering, looking around. "Are you sure Dari wanted to come here?" she asked. Why not somewhere--quieter? Less busy? Surely he was more likely to meet a proper guy somewhere else?

Toby laughed and turned to Maia. "We don't have to stay if you don't want to." He didn't really think Dari was after an actual relationship here. At least he hoped not. This was not the place, but Lori had made that fairly clear.

Didn't Dari need their support? No? "We could head home," she suggested. They'd have the house to themselves, apart from Peaches.
Luca peeked out from behind Lori, looking awkward. "So this is what a club's like," he observed. "Well, that's one way to have Dari experience it." He smirked at Lori. "Let's dance, love."

Toby chuckled and dropped his head. He tapped Lori on the shoulder.
"Can you keep an eye on Dari? Maia's a bit overwhelmed."
"Sure!" Lori nodded, "Yeah, we've got him!"
Toby turned to Maia and kissed her nose. "We can go, love."
Lori turned back to Luca. "Alright! We just have to watch the newbie," he said, nodding to Dari, "We're gonna go dance, Dari. You wanna come?"
"Sure!" Dari chirped. They'd dance together, and he'd try to draw in a partner. He'd been learning how to dance from the internet!

Maia was only too glad to leave the club, and when they arrived at the car, she turned to kiss Toby. "He'll be fine," she said, giving him a small smile.
Luca led Lori to dance, taking Dari along with them. "See anyone you'd like to dance with, Dari?" he asked.

Toby sighed like a worried parent. "I know. He's a good kid."
Lori began to dance with Luca, and his body moved well for someone so chunky. Dari looked suddenly shy, looking around. There were so many different sorts of men in here... was he only supposed to dance to someone he was attracted to, or could it be anyone? Did he have to approach them, or might they approach him? He found Toby attractive in a platonic sort of way, so was he attractive too? Ah, screw it! He took a deep breath (those felt good now!) and began to dance to the music nearby.

Soon after Dari was on the dance floor, a man appeared next to him. He tapped him on the shoulder. The guy was handsome; coppery hair and brown eyes, rugged features. "Want to dance, cutie?" he asked. "I don't think I've seen you here before."

Dari turned to see a handsome face and grinned.
"Well I've never been here before," he said coyly. 'Cutie' was definitely not what he was going for, but oh well! Rather than respond in words, Dari began to dance with the man. What did he want? Close dancing? Very close? Or just facing one another?
