Florida! man, what's your opinion of my home state, then? smile as for lack of internet, I have to announce that I'm kicked out of my folks house. again. permanently this time. I'm spending half of every week for the rest of the semester in High Springs with no internet, and the other half catching up like crazy on school, while flitting from house to house every night. I need to invest in a tent....

Ok, I need some help brainstorming. I've come to the conclusion that my last job, as good as it was and as much as I loved it, would have killed my soul. I would have gotten comfortable in the cubical and never ventured into marine biology or veterinary medicine. Full benefits, good wages, and an easy commute would have seduced me into apathy about the things I'm truly passionate about. I was actually scared of that happening when I started the job, so I'm guessing that cosmic forces are at work here. That's how I'm going to look at it anyway.
I'm finishing my last class for my degree in English Literature on Sunday, so I'll have the diploma in my hand in a month or two. Technically I've already graduated, so that's what I'm putting on my resume. I'm also a certified Scuba diver (open water only, but more $$ means more certifications!). I can type 75+ wpm and I'm pretty hot with the 10 key. I've got skills in Adobe Illustrator and Gimp. I can edit and proof like nobody's business. I've been swimming since I could craw, sailing since I was 12, and working with various animals all my life.
I do NOT want to be a teacher. I'd rather not spend more than 60% of my time behind a desk. I hate jobs that involve office politics, ladder climbing, and other BS. I don't want a night job again because I'm not a night-owl. I'd love a physically active job.
So what should I do next? Where would I fit in? Give me some ideas of where to look for employment because I'm feeling really out of my depth right now. xp
