this is the simple part, there are 6 "drugs", HP,ATK,DEF,SP.A,SP.D and Speed,

you can find them easy inside of stores,

but they give 10 "EV'S" inside the respective Stat,

I find out when a stat is maxed out whenever I don't get big stat bonuses upon leveling up (Like I get +2 instead of getting like +6 when I'm still EV training on one stat. That would mean that it's maxed out).

You normally get bigger stat bonuses whenever you level, because it takes more time to gain the experience needed when you're a higher level.

And with the Pokerus, it doubles the EV points you get. So, Geodude gives 1. You got the item that doubles it, and with the Pokerus, it doubles again.

so, 1 (the EV point that Geo gives) x 2 (the item) x 2 (Pokerus) = 4 (Total EV points you get)

so are you only getting a small hnadful of ev points per level
or could one say kill several dozen carps go up one level and be done??

Items such as Protein, Carbos, Iron and all of that give 10 EV points on one stat, but you can only use 10 on one stat.

So, 10x10= 100 EV points.

Alright so I minus 10 from the 255, then the rest I do in battles?

Well the vitamins give you ten free Ev's for each one you use. If you give the pokemon ten irons, that's 100 free EV's. Like a jump start. 10 more to another stat, that's 200.

You can't give any vitamins to a single stat once that stat has reached the 100 mark.

The total limit for getting EV's is 510. If you use the Vitamins on the two stats you're going to raise, you knock out 200 EV's with out battling.

Now you have 310 divide that by 2. It's 155. Divide that by 8, it's roughly 20. So just ko around twenty gravelers. And that stat has reached the 255 limit.

So example I use 10 irons, that would eliminate 100 of th 255 points needed then?
So the last 155 I'd have to do in battle correct?

Correct. :3

It's better to start with 20 of two vitamins. 10 of one stat and 10 of another. Then battle for the rest of the EV's.

My Zapdos got an uber bonus on its Special Attack stat when it was training against Psyduck/Golducks. Keep in mind that it took me quite a lot of them to beat until it leveled up, since Zapdos was lvl 50 and they were between lvl 5 and 15, or something like that.

But... once again, it had the Bracer and the Pokerus. I got +4s and +8s on Special attack.
PostPosted: Tue May 18, 2010 6:46 pm

So lets say lvl 1 pokemon just hatched, I use iron and...protien on it. Would it take effect on the stats as it levels? Or is that too early of a level and it would be a waste?

Why would you put 255 on one stat? All stats max out at 252, they go up one for every four EVs so if you did 252 on SpAtk and 252 on Speed, that leaves you with an extra 4 to put on Hp or something.
