"Yeh, f*** you buddeh," he laughed as he let go of Ashley by forcefully pushing her away. "I gave up class when my soul was ripped out from me. You should too you emotionless motherf***er."
Saint winked with a click of his tongue and formed his clothing back upon himself with the help of darkness.

[ Kyle ; Ultima : Atlantica : ??? ]... thank you for your concern, however..:Not so much concern as it is practical advice.:.Right, right...
It's about time, anyhow. They'll be coming down soon, and the army will be swimming this way in an hour or two. I hope the city is ready..:Kyla helped with the preparations and evacuation, and she hasn't come to warn you of anything, so I'd assume so, yes.:.Right... I should probably thank her, too. I'll have to wait until a better moment, though..:Is there a bad moment to show appreciation and gratitude?:.... true.
"Hey, Kyla," Kyle sent through the charms. He knew she was nearby, outside his hiding spot more than likely-- he could feel her proximity with the seal. "Thank you-- for the help, and for keeping watch. The others will be down here soon, and... if we can avoid it, I'd like them not to see me. Not like this, not until the battle is about to begin. Some of them will only protest, and all of this energy will be wasted. So if you could... I don't know, keep them away or distracted with things that need setting up..."
He didn't finish his sentence, but it was obvious from the tone how genuinely important this was to him.

[Kyla: Atlantica: ???: Parameter lookout Point]
:: Edited:: Her response came almost instantly over the charms. His predictions were right, she was in a hidden location just a few yards beyond his own location, keeping an eye things but also keeping watch for the arrival of the cavalry.
" You're welcome Kyle.," she seemed to pause, and the length of time indicated she was thinking of a way to solve his other request," if you want, I can also do something to hide your changes. I can keep the illusion in place until it you don't need it anymore- or at least long enough it that no one will notice in time."
She talking of course about Paper-Thin. Kyla was sure Kyle didn't know about it yet. She'd have to explain later if he wanted to know how ti worked, but for now it seemed as good a time as any to apply it into practical use instead of sneaking into boys bathrooms.
On the same thought of spells and preparations she'd been analyzing the grid Kyle had put on her hand- and the similarities with the ones on his body.
~ Something on your mind?~
'...understatement of the year.'
~ You've been referring back to the tattoo- if that's what they'r even called.. since you copied them. Trying to find something wrong?~
'...perhaps. Just being careful. If this pushed Kyle beyond his limit, I'll need to find a way to stop his spell. But I can't be sure how it works enterly without seeing it. If I could see how he's linked us to him, then I could strip the weaving from his energy, untangling us all if something goes wrong or gets in.'
~ Gets in? What do you mean by that?~
' I dunno. I just think... ugh.. it's like computers. They maybe machines but they are man-made and prone to flaws, this is no different. For all the coding in the world, there is always a percentage of error in the design. I'm just being careful...I wish that Red Mage was here.. he would be able to trace the lines of mana and sever them easily. Then again there's no telling if that approach is safe either.'
~ Looks to me like you've already decided to shut him down already if it suits you to. Give him more credit.~
' I do. I just wish he'd let me help him more. Hell I could have helped him do this- out of all the people in our team I could have helped, maybe design a way to try to share the burden somehow for multiple people. I know Joe and Noelle would have jumped at the opportunity! Not just be a blood donors.'
~ So you're ploting out the best way to take his system down- but you don't know how the thing works or even the model? You're starting to sound like a Hacker.~
' Just because I'm thinking about it, doesn't mean I'll do it. I need to have faith in him even if the thought isn't returned.'
~ That's a bit bold of you to say. How do you know how he feels? He confided in you about his- issue.~
'Only cause I happen to be here.'
~ I think you and him have the same problem. Neither of you is willing to budge. Trust is a two way street.~
'I know! So .. I'm trying! I'm Trying dangit!.'

[ Kyle : Atlantica : ??? ]
His response didn't come immediately, but it only took a few moments.
"Actually, that would be great," he responded, sounding somewhat cheerful, though the undercurrent of weariness wasn't all that hard to hear. He chuckled. "Joe would probably force his way past to check on me, anyhow, the stubborn blockhead, so if you could do that before hand, that would be great."

[Kyla: Atlantica: ???> Kyle???]
"Yeah- Joe wouldn't fall for anything I say, he can read me like a book. I think if I had a big brother, he'd be like him. Alright then I'm coming over."
Through the connection Kyle would sense Kyla coming closer. She didn't see him as much as she just felt him. Like the heat from an open source getting stronger. As she closed in- sensing him through the ether- she could feel the resonating anxiety, his weariness... It reminded her of that time before. That strange heartfelt resonance.
When she finally came upon his hiding place- it was..well.. a good place to be. Looking in from above, where it opened a hole up towards the distance illuminated surface, Kyla saw down into Ariel's hidden Alcove.
There he was floating aloft in a semi sitting position among the collection of things the little mermaid had gathered. Had Kyle been his former self, he'd be the best addition to her treasure trove.
He'd see the shadow of her flicker across the opening above as she looked for the other way in.
When she Kyla finally arrived she couldn't help but look around, suddenly awe stricken. There she was, in a place she'd dreamed about ever since she was little. How many times had she imaged being in a place like this, looking up towards the distance surface from the deep blue below, surrounded by the walls and walls of cultivated artifacts and treasure. She twisted there in place a moment, looking directly up, her tough facade falling form her for a moment before him and suddenly she was a child again. Wide eyed and curious. Suddenly remembering herself Kyla righted herself and stopped stared around the room, she chuckled weakly looking a bit embarrassed.
" Had a little waking dream moment there- sorry."
When she closed the distance Kyla just looked at him, unflinching, not even grimacing. The artist understood what had to be done- Martyrdom was a touchy subject even for her, but it was something she respected if within reason. Kyle was pushing that line, but he didn't cross it yet.
She just smiled softly and opened her book. Skipping quickly past her own doodles and etchings, to a previous sketch of Kyle. In fact he seemed to have a roaster in her journal now, a log of his physical progression. Backtracking to a more suitable reference- one which included his new scars, she copied and pasted it to the spell, then tore the page completely out of her book before closing it.
"Alright, now- just hold still a moment please..." she asked while looking for the best place- least likely to be disturbed so the talisman would be somewhat safe. She decided the small of his back. Enemies would attack directly the chest, torso, arms and legs in order to get at vital part- and even blows to the back favored the mid section not the lower base above the hips.
" Pardon my reach." she muttered and activated the page ready to apply it to his person. " Remember, this is an illusion. A false image put over your true being, this means what is different about you is still there- and the talisman itself will be invisible. Try to think of it as a blanket put over your head. If it's torn off somehow, say in a battle, or someone happens to hit that place, the whole image will unravel. Understand?"

[ Kyle : Atlantica : Ariel's Cove ]
Kyle didn't even budge in response. His eyes remained shut, his arms remained crossed, his form remained stationary as he kept his focus.
"Yes'm, I understand," he responded mentally. It seemed he was afraid that any unnecessary movement might break his hold over the magic. "I'll be staying near the back, anyhow, so hopefully I'll be uninterrupted until the matrix's energy is spent. Thank you."

[Kyla: Atlantica: Ariels Cove]
Glad to be spared the embarrassment, Kyla floated around behind him and attached the talisman to the small of his back just above the boarder of the scales. the sensation would resemble something like fabric- then paper because it was already changing. It stuck to his form like it was coated in some adhesive, but in actual fact it anchored to his body's energy and fixed into position. The moment it made contact the water was distorted around him, and a dozen more pages exploded out of her book.
Like a swarm of angry bees- the pages suddenly stuck to him, encasing him then turning translucent- to completely invisible. Changing from useless paper, to a see through barrier which covered his body- the pages took on the likeness of how he was hours ago before his preparations began.
She made a point to remove some of the wear and tear- giving a semblance that he got a little bit of sleep. ...at the very least she removed the dark circles from under his eyes. Not too much- or it would be too suspicious. Even Kyla had to show a little that Kyle was pushing himself, she had to make the illusion convincing.
When it was over Kyle looked fine again. Kyla felt the magic hold and closed her book again. " It's done- I should go back and see if it's time. I'll let you know and I'll try and keep the others from disturbing you so you wont be interrupted- but if it doesn't work... this should keep it secret."
She turned around and headed for the exit, then looked over her shoulder before talking back through the charms again.
' If something doesn't feel right, like if you think something might be nearby or too close, just call me.'

[ Kyle : Atlantica : Ariel's Cove ]
Kyle's eyes tightened in an attempt to remain focused as the spell enveloped him; luckily, everything worked out well enough, and Kyla was off to see the others.
"Will do," he responded gratefully. As she left and he was returned to his state of silence, he mulled over some thoughts, still directing the intense mana flood he had access to. After a few moments, he opened up a channel to their lost friend, knowing who would get the message instead.
"Still intending on waiting a few hours?"
"Yes please shut up busy right now."
Kyle mentally rolled his eyes, though he noted the odd peculiarity of the message. It was immediate and rushed, as if he were in the middle of something requiring his full attention.
Whatever. I have your word.

[ Sora ; Riku ; Seymour : Shipwreck Cove : Balconies ]
As the groups began to mingle and the last few members showed up, Sora and Riku looked at each other, nodding. This was it, then.
"Yeah, Axel, you can stick with us," he responded, giving a small wave to the Nobody.
"Alright, I guess that's it, then," Sora said, cracking his knuckles with a tense smile. "Everyone going down to Atlantica, meet at the docks in half an hour. That should give you whatever time you need to prepare."
"The rest of you pretty much just stick around," Riku said with a shrug. "It'll be pretty obvious when the Pearl's about to set sail, so until then you're free to prepare."
As Sora nodded, he grinned and began to walk back into the Rose. All these people with breakfast were making him hungry.
Riku stuck outside, leaning on the railing and looking out toward the Cove's exit. However, his mind was elsewhere.
"Looking to get a bit of training done before heading down?" he asked Noelle via the charms. "I should probably tell you what to look out for as far as Kyle's concerned-- or anyone else, really. There might be others."

[Noelle ~ Shipwreck Cove ~ Balconies]
Noelle looked sharply to Riku when she heard him but didn't see him looking her way. She always forgot about those pesky charms and they'd give her quite a scare from time to time. It was scary enough having one crazy voice in her head, let alone more. She looked away and rubbed the seal on her hand--what if Kyle was already in danger and she hadn't noticed it before?
"I was hoping you'd ask." The agromancer replied back over the charms, making sure to only include Riku on the line. "Back to the training room on the ship? I'd like to get in as much time as possible. And a warm up before the battle would be ideal if you'd treat me to it."

[ Riku : Shipwreck Cove : Balconies -> Rose / Training Room ]
"Well, let's get started," he responded, and without even looking toward her, he got up from his spot on the railing and began to walk up the ramp in silence.
---
After a couple minutes of walking, he found himself in the Training Room. He increased the Time Compression somewhat to give them more than just thirty minutes before she had to go before walking to the side, waiting for her entrance.

[Axel: Red Rose: Balcony> Kitchen]
The nobody nodded in acknowledgement to the silver haired youth before cracking his back one more time and looking out to sea over the railing as Riku and Noelle procreaded back inside.
" Good, guess you'll see me when all the fun starts- but first, there's gotta be something that..err...chef-thing can whip up for me."
He regarded the earthling still lagging about before they parted to prepare. "...things are getting interesting now." he mused and finally went back inside to find some nurishment. Heavy fighting was easier fi you had the energy to back it up. That was about all the gratification he could get out of it. Food didn't exactly taste -good- to him in either way, it was either filling, or not. It seemed nurishing or not. It was never, delicious, or disquisting, it just was.
Ok enough thinking- food, then fighting. Then perhaps a talk with that braniac with the book. Thinking fo which- where was she? they kept mentioning Kyle being below the water- but after they all gathered he didn't see her amoungst them. No one else seemed to notice her absence.
"Odd... meh." he shrugged. She was reasonably smart, so if there was trouble no doubt that mage would do that weird 'door-trick' and come home if she was in danger right? Axel knew he was getting close to the kitchen because the smell of eggs and bacon came to greet him- and thats when he saw her all the way down on the other side making a turn.
Kyla with her book clasped against her front continued on her way quietly, seeming to be in one of her 'deepthinkingmoods'. Axel knew that look- he'd seen it enough on Zexion in the past to know whe to not bother a brainiac when they were thinking. No doubt it was about the battle to come, so with his temporary concern put aside he entered the kitchen without a second thought.
...
The sounds of their distant foot steps kept her on alert of how close she was. The idiot nobody didn't seem to notice the difference at a distance- and he too far for him to sense anything different. She found the room she wanted, and opon entry 'Kyla' approached the bed and ripping a page from her book and slipping it under the matress. A confident smirk played on the girls lips and she let the darkness pool around her feet like a puddle on the floor before slipping into the void of shadows... and was gone again.

[Noelle ~ Shipwreck Cove ~ Rose Training Room]
Noelle glanced at Riku as he left, trying not to call attention to how often she had been looking at him. Knowing how sneaky she was, which was pretty sneaky most of the time, nobody would notice. But then again, there was a lot of others around. She could just hope they wouldn't get curious. The small blonde waited a few moments, looked around to make sure nobody needed her, then followed the direction Riku had left in, making her way to the Rose. When she stepped into the training room she looked over to the silver haired teen and gave him a brief smile.
"So . . . what's first?"

[Kyla: Under the Sea: Atlantica outskirts]
The pictomancer left Kyle's side reluctantly, but she remained positions roughly over the space he'd be below the caverns of the ocean floor where the hidden cove was. It was a real surreal sight to see the wide expanse of the ocean. Mountains and valleys of rock and coral, and there in the distance was the mass army of darkness. It held position, did not move, just sat there like a pitch black sun rise on the horizon beyond the gates of the city.
She floated in the water, weightless and holding position keeping her sights on them, while trying to stay somewhat aware of Kyle below. Soon their friends would be arriving, and she'd have to try and keep them distracted as well. Sometimes being honest was a fair approach, she's just tell them it was paramount that no one disturb him, because the whole plan was ridding on it.
Surely they'd respect his privacy enough if the fate of the world depending on it, and of course if all else fails.. just not tell them where he is. Maybe give the illusion he was somewhere else? That didn't sound half bad actually.
Wait a second?! Why was she scheming against her comrades?! she suddenly felt dirty- like being caught doing something very awful and red handed. Worse then that- suddenly it felt like someone had walked over her grave.
All this anxiety couldn't be good she'd be going gray in a month at this rate!
A mermen guard approached her then and asked if she'd seen anything. " No change." she replied then asked if the city was officially emptied. "Everyone who's staying is left- no one else." " Where are the citizens being hidden?"
"All over- it's too dangerous to select a specific location. It's been made apparent that no where is safe if the enemy can infiltrate so easily, even to the inner throne room. People have been referred to various hiding places and others know their own caves to hide in."
Kyla flicked her tail back and forth, the gauzy fins drifting like lavender silks around her. " At least the people are prepared. They're very strong."

[ Riku : Shipwreck Cove : Balconies -> Rose / Training Room ]
Riku remained silent for a bit after the spoke, listening to the distinct humming of the Time Compression kicking into gear. His eyes were closed in thought, and his arms were crossed; he looked oddly tranquil, as if he were asleep.
"I think we'll need to try something other than Heartless control," he responded, opening his eyes sharply but not yet moving. "From what I saw of that message Sora sent me from last night, it won't come in handy. And trying to manipulate dark energies will be useless, too, considering the enemy's own advantage..."
He frowned. He didn't like the choice, but it was the only thing he could think of that might come in handy in the coming hours.
"I think it best if we get you used to feeling out the Darkness around you," he said, uncrossing his arms and walking away from the wall on which he'd been leaning. "At higher degrees of attunement, you'll be able to smell it, even identify using it. But that requires a larger stain-- larger than Corridor control. For now, you just want to sense disturbances or anomalies, in case someone tries to ambush you."
He sat down, cross-legged, and placed his hands on his knees; he nodded, essentially motioning for her to do the same. "It's probably best if you start by attuning yourself to your own Darkness first, so we'll begin with some meditation."
