I made a grizzled war vet w/ a prosthetic arm in a short-lived Gundam RP. He was a lot of fun b/c of his combination of wisdom and world-weariness (especially when it came to war).
As for tabletopping, my fav character was Azalea Thomdamodred. She was a daughter in a line of sorcerer nobility, and her father was a doppelganger of who was supposed to be her real father. She found out through the course of the campaign; he had actually resigned from his assassination/impersonation ways after becoming too attached to the family, but his underworlds ties helped.

Hard to pick a favorite . . . truly. I put so much of myself into all my characters that if you press me, it will be for the longest-lived characters. By that logic, I have a dwarf named Hinrag Ignasher DemonSlayer, patron of his clan and titled the "Demon Cleaver." I played him for a year and a half every week for at least 6 hours per session. He went from a stereotype dwarf to a fully-fleshed out character with a family, a clan, politics, skills, and everything else you might need. He became real to me in a way, and when I stopped playing him, I missed him. Still do.
I also love the archetype of the S12 captain. An arachnid theme to him, and using his mind to overcome things as I do in life. He has been played for years now as well, but only online. He allowed me to revel in the idea of a power fantasy more fully than any previous character. Where Ignous was a strong arm, my Captain was nothing short of throwing myself into a game and not hold back. He allowed me to be the a** I wish I was, and have the power to back it up. I am a nice guy, and do all I can to be kind and loyal to those that have earned my loyalty . . . but there are the darker impulses. The urge to reach out in anger. The captain allows me to do just that.

How about we play some fun problem solving games.....?
Or we can tell a story.

My life is typically boring . . . I lead a life of poverty with occasional accentuation of excitement.

As is mine, though it could be argued it is by choice. My time when not attending to needs (food, sleep, etc...) and expectations (job, etc..) is spent on my computer or watching anime.

I suppose a single word for what I said would be "nerd." xp I'm still sort of into video games, but I haven't had any motivation to play them in a long time. I'm moderately into tabletoppers still. I'm in an ongoing campaign, but my effort level w/ wordlbuilding the setting and homebrewing mechanics is both what fluctuates and what I enjoy the most (not that the RPing of being in a campaign is bad, I just really like meta stuff in tabletopping). Thus, anime is what I'm almost always in the mood for.

Oh, no, not that temptation again. Since my enthusiasm toward games has waned, I have considered watching the stories/cutscenes/cinematics of games (that I own but have yet to play) strung together w/o gameplay like that. Only my conviction that gameplay > story has kept me from it thus far. 3nodding
Granted, watching the story of Soul Reaver 1, which I have beaten before, might be nice instead of having to play though the whole game again (plus all of the condensed Tony Jay would be glorious, though ReBoot could serve this purpose just as well). Well, I know what I'm doing tonight. mrgreen

ninja give in . . . give in . . . give in! The story in those links is rich and intelligent, varied and wonderful. I admit that a game has to be fun more than anything else, but these links give you all the intrigue and none of hte frustration! I just recently finished Infamous, its dlc and sequel and those were fun to play. The game automatically went to the hardest difficulty because of my ability to play was so good, so there was frustration- but damn if it wasn't fun.
I this a lot lately with fighting games. They can be quite entertaining with the right commentators (or even raw gameplay without voiceover), but I am rubbish at them.
As for a reboot binge, something tells me that show didn't age well. sweatdrop I loved it once upon a time, but at this point . . . it worries me.
