No, they're just another hundred throw-away characters to be eaten by Ichigo while he levels up to fight Aizen.
I haven't seen a Hollow in 200 episodes. Menos don't count, Arrancar don't count. The entire purpose of shinigami according to the series is to keep Hollow from eating human souls, and instead they're spending all their time having civil wars.
A single main character can kill thousands, or tens of thousands of normal Hollow. The Menos type were specifically stated to not be able to fought alone by anyone other than a Captain but apparently they can be slaughtered by the dozens.
Hollow are mooks now, if a single character (any one of probably fifty or sixty characters in the show) can kill them with a harsh word they don't exist in the show except to die in waves.
Which makes you wonder why Soul Society even bothers sending individual shinigami out to fight individual Hollow when a single officer could clear out a continent in a matter of hours.
