When he dropped down to his knees, Tilly followed as is she were his shadow. She kept calling to you him softly, her hands clutching at his forearms, hers hands still on her wrists.
"Hey.. It's okay.."
Tilly didn't understand what had happened, or if it was fault, but she didn't want to see him like this. It frightened her. Even with his hands gripping at her wrists, the little muse stood on her knees to reach him, laying his head on her chest softly, her hands at the nape of his neck.
"Damion.. It's okay..."
Pressing her lips to his scalp she crooned faintly, closing her eyes, slowing her breath to help sooth him.

His panicked breathes continued as his hind brain tried to make sense of things, struggling to comprehend the reality around him and the fiction that his mind had made. Damion's eyes ceased their tireless flickering and finally focused straight ahead of him and into her chest, closing but briefly to reopen. That had been the worst episode he'd had yet, the others mere horror films compared to that. He had never walked the grounds of that world in his life and yet it had felt as normal to him as this one was.
" Tilly...."
His head nuzzled hard into her chest as he sought to rid himself of the memories and feelings, muscles sore with their sudden struggle. He let his hands fall from her wrists to hang down by his sides, shoulders slumped in a position of exhaustion as she held him and tried to comfort him. It was long before his mind ceased it's internal whirling and Damion was able to recognize precisely where he was. This was the real world despite its foreign feel to his skin. He offered no words of thanks and simply contented himself with being held.

Damion didn't need to talk as Tilly held him, her cheek resting gently on the top of his head. Taking a deep breath, she sighed out smoothly as her own nerves began to settle. Her fingers brushed over his neck and back, trying to sooth him however she could.
"Mm..." Was her response before taking another breath, although shallower than the last. "I'm here.."

It was many minutes before he tried rising on shaky legs, sweat beading on his forhead as he looked around himself again. This was the world of the living and it was the only world worth considering now. His dream world was a fading memory along with the fearful passion and hunger it had instilled in him, that horrible thirst for blood and flesh. He was not a man in the literal sense anymore and sometimes his beastly feelings went mad.
" Thank you...thank you."
Damion kissed her forehead gently as his shaking finally ceased and he was once again left with his rock steady hands.
" I think I have some explaining to do..."
Now he sounded almost guilty, as if it were somehow his fault for not telling her. And perhaps it was, perhaps she could have helped him better, but there was no way for him to fix it now other than to explain himself. His gratefulness for her patience could never be appropriately explained and yet the Hydra found himself wanting to try regardless. But first, an explanation in this world that hadn't noticed its sudden treacherous transformation.

Tomorrow Her soothing words eased his pain, the cool hand upon his brow causing the pain to ebb slowly instead of torrent through his brain. He was trembling now, his entire body shaking in her grasp, his hair, now wet with blood and sweat, hung lank around his face. He could not move his head, but a blood-filled eye swiveled up to look to her. She looked like an angel at that moment, and as the adrenaline slowly wound itself out of his still sparking body, the static slowly dying down as she absorbed his power, bleeding him of his excess energy like the doctors of yore would bleed their patients to ease out the evil stuck within them. "I...*kk*...i cannot be a God..." John whispered, blood seeping from the corner of his mouth, the strain to talk evident in his voice. "...Gods...Gods are supposed to make the world better...they should make the world better...but all i can do is destroy, maim, kill...its all i'm good at, its all i've ever been any good at...""....What kind of life is that? What kind of...fate is that? To die on some....shitty battlefield....no love....no compassion....nothing but sand and blood around you....all my meaningful relationships devolve into battle at one point or another....what does that make me?"" What is a god but an idea John? Do you think that the gods who destroy are lesser beings because they tear down what others have created? they are bound by rules... just as mortals are, and they do what they must to keep the universe in balance..." " Would it help to know that your fate makes a difference to others? That by your suffering those others that you worry over actually lead better lives..." Verandi stroked his hair, her head tilted down as if she was looking at him. " You, I think, are the type that will fight no matter what... fight Fate, and everything else that gets in your way, so why not accept it? Make of yourself a better being inch by inch so that in the end, you know that you have truly lived you life the best you can! I can see a happy ending for you... many years down your road, an ending where your life had meaning, and where those you leave behind mourn you instead of cursing your name." She wiped the blood away from his mouth, her robe remaining pristine, never showing the sign that he had sullied her. " I could see that for you... I could bargain with you instead of dragging you down to hell for fighting me! Fate is never really kind, but you can chose a kinder Fate than the one that you started the day with!" She was no angel, but neither was she a devil in disguise either... Verandi was simply Fate... and there is no Fate but that which Men make for themselves in the end!

Helping him up as best as she could, Tilly made sure to keep a hand on him as she stood herself. The other hand gathered the material of her skirt a bit, as she was still a little nervous, her face didn't show it however. Tilly looked worried if anything. Wondering what had happened, still wondering if it was her fault.
"If you think you should..." Pursing her lips, Tilly looked up at him pensively. "I'm sorry if it was my fault. I didn't mean to.."

" No! No...it wasn't your fault. I have issues with the gods."
Issues was putting it mildly, but Damion pressed on regardless.
" During Heaven or Hell, 2 years ago, I hit on the idea of binding something too me to make up for my lack of natural weapons as they were my favored way of attacking. For days I thought on what creature would be right and proper, reading through books upon books until atlast the idea hit me like a thunderbolt. I wanted to bind a dragon's spirit into a talisman to use when I needed it, to retain my humanity."
He motioned to his neck as he spoke, tracing the band of lighter skin that ran around his neck.
" Maximos helped me, helping me to summon a creature to bind to a collar I had and the jewel that was attached to it. It....did not go as planned. I got more than I bargained for and the creature we summoned was not what I expected at all. I found myself lost to the Dagons will, his tendrils reaching far into my heart and summoning me into the north, into its swamp. I had never been so powerless. I had no control over any of it, drawn to that place, and told that now I was its guardian until the time that I died. I won't lie and say I was not pleased, this body is capable of more than I thought possible."
Hands dropped and flexed, muscles twitched and tightened.
" But....I did not realise just how much control Dagon had. I have come to resent that elder god in my time away and hate it. I hate all the gods, or maybe I just hunger for their blood, the challenge they represent. I don't know."
He sighed and took her hand in his, stroking the back of it with his thumb. There was more to say but he didn't have the words to describe the intensity of his hatred for the gods. Everything they were he hated and wanted to destroy, wanted to tear them from their golden thrones high above and below and wherever they dwelled. But few hated like he hated.

John's blood-filled eyes closed, his heavy, choked breath slowing, his hand lying limp by his side. When he spoke, his voice was calm, almost serene, his entire body going limp. "I...I want....I want to wake up and not feel this guilt anymore....I want to understand my brother....understand why he did what he did...."
"...I need...direction....I need...focus...I need....to..."He was beginning to slip into unconciousness. Fate may have wiped out his pain, but the blood seeping from his brain was filling up his cranium, putting pressure on his brain, causing even more damage.

Tilly's eyes never strayed from Damion, not even once as he explained, her opal orbs flicking about his facial features. She took it all in, making sure she understood the nuances, the bigger picture. Even though he said it wasn't her fault, Tilly knew to watch her tongue now. None of it seemed to phase her negatively in fact, as he rubbed her hands, ceasing to speak, she smiled sweetly and nodded her head once.
"Don't worry, Damion." She said softly, a grin spreading across her face. "No matter what you are, or what happens, I'll be here Hell or high water..." Such confidence now, a comforting wink. "They aren't so tough anyways..."
Tip toeing up, she kiss him gently.
"But really.. I understand where you come from.. I was created by such people.."

" Can Grace take that bullet out of your brain now, or do you still think it isn't affecting you?" The shimmering doorway of light appeared again, in a slightly cleaner corner than the one that Verandi had been standing in and the healer stepped through with a look of horrified shock at what had been done to her hospital room. Luckily it only too a moment to glance at Andi and John to see that he was seriously hurt again as she knelt beside the seeress and started to murmur the words of her healing spell to work on the damage the big man had done himself.

He couldn't keep the shocked expression off his face as she spoke, only quelled when she kissed him and then popping right back up again afterwords. It wasn't the confidence that shook him or even her upbeat attitude towards the whole thing. What shocked him was that she was so ACCEPTING of his oddity, completely unphased by the fact that he wanted to slaughter creatures far beyond his own power to even find. Damion knew then that he had found something very special and precious, something he had already vowed to protect but now finding even that inadequate.
" Yes...you were, weren't you."
He smiled finally and kissed her again for good measure, letting the experience cleanse him of any further suprise or shock. Mentally he chided himself for forgetting that Gaia was full of people and things that would suprise him, chiding the fact that he had even been shocked in the first place. After all he had seen some things still had that power though.
" And come Hell I like to think they'd rather run in fear of me than face my anger."
He added, winking and chuckling, a sound like rocks grating.

Tilly felt herself flush a little as he chuckled, a cute little smirk twisting itself on her face. At the a moment, it would seem like she was a cat about to pounce as she crouched a bit before springing up at him with a giggle. She'd need all the jump the little muse could muster just to get her arms around his neck.
But once she was up there, she squeezed cutely, still giggling.
"Oh Damion~"
Looking up, Tilly nuzzled his nose with hers before burying her head into his neck with a precious noise.

"Ak! Nnng..."John's slack body suddenly stiffened, blood shooting grim his nose as his breath was shot from him. Dr. Sarona, in her haste to care for him, must've forgotten what had happened the lay time she'd tried to heal him. The time for guilt ridden stubbornness was over. John would either die or become a walking lightening strike if they didn't get that bullet out of his head. These two mice would have to work long and hard to get such a tiny thorn out of a very sensative lion. His brain, basically a mass of scar tissue, was being torn apart and reshaped due to Dr. Sarona's magic in a vain attempt to rebuild itself...but scar tissue is what it was now. There was no way to healing it any morethen there was to replace the primordial tails of their ancestors - that was his brain now, and he would have to suffer the consequences. The bullet, however, would definitely have to come out - the only thing the women women had to ask now was...was the bullet killing him? Or was it the lynchpin that kept what was left of John Tomorrow's brain working? If they removed it...would he remain the man he? was

"No more stalling, and no more games! I'm having him prepped for surgery as soon as I can drag the twisted lump of plastic and metal that used to be a hospital bed out of the doorway Verandi..." Grace whispered a stasis spell in hopes that is would keep him from getting any worse before she could get that bullet out. "I don't want him here anymore... I have a good surgeon I'm calling in, and then I am going to heal everything that modern surgery can not fix!"
"It should not be your decision Eir... it should be his and his alone!" The seeress snapped, although with a wave of her hand and a surge of energy the bed was thrown away from the door and back into the wall.
"I am a doctor first and your friend last... and don't call me THAT!" The healer fished a cell phone out of her pocket and dialed a number as sh stood and started to sweep debris out of her way with her foot. "Yes, it's a go, please have surgery 2 prepped and the team ready.. the patient will be down in minutes."
Verandi sighed and gently shifted Tomorrow's head off her lap, being careful to sweep glass out of the way as she very carefully placed his head on the floor and then disappeared.

Some of the larger orderlies came into the room, wheeling a new bed in for the over sized patient lying on the floor. They knew not to ask questions - for them, this was par for the course.
It took three of them to get him onti the bed, all grunting and groaning - before whisking him away to the OR.
When he arrived, the surgeons were scrubbing up. The anesthetist put several needles into him to keep him pain-free - before looking up to the nurse. "okay...wake him up." He said.
They roused him slowly, his bloodshot eyes opening to look at the nurse. The orderlies propped him into the operating bed face-down, his face poking through a hole in the bed. The nurse smiled at him. "Mr. Tomorrow, we're going to operate on you now. We need to keep you awake so we know that we havent done anything too damaging. You will feel no pain during the process, but there will be some discomfort. Do you understand?"
he looked at her dumbly. He was out of it, completely helpless.
"Someone shave his head abd we'll get to it." Someone called.
