@Magni: I'm sorry for the loss of your friend.
Yes, legitimate discussion is a powerful thing that should be used more often among people who disagree. More often than not, even close friends and family get far too heated in religious or political talks.
It's okay, I understand you don't have the time for it with your current situation. If you ever want to get back to it, I still have notes on what sub-topics I wanted to touch on.
You needn't worry, there has been no offense taken and, I hope, given.
@Bliss: That's really not a good view for those doctors to be pushing. Sure, deafness is a disability, but it doesn't have to be intractable (with regard to society) unless you let it.
That does sound like a good goal, that mentoring program you're striving for.
Ah, I'm sorry the rest of your family doesn't understand; learning the language of a loved one who is around all the time should be mandatory.

You have yet to even approach offending me, old friend. We may be from vastly different experiences, but I value your words as much as you do mine. You are a resource to worlds I have never set foot upon, and somebody that I can debate with knowing that it will end well.
Very few people in the world have somebody that they can say that about. *hugs*

All right. Yeah, different perspectives are a good thing.
That's true. *returns hug* I can only say that about my best friends, so you must be one of them. wink biggrin heart

Not so good . . . I am going to drop out of college after the new year. The costs are just too much, and the lack of any good jobs in my area are just compounding to make it impossible to continue. In fact, I spoke with an advisor and she specifically said "I don't know why you are still in school."

Well, at least you have a definite plan now. Not racking up more debt is a good solution for your present job situation.

I have one.
Out of all rp characters you made, who was your favorite, what was s/he, personality, stuff like that.
Why is that one your favorite?

Wicked Lily I have one.
Out of all rp characters you made, who was your favorite, what was s/he, personality, stuff like that.
Why is that one your favorite? I've played a lot of characters, but perhaps the most fun I ever had was a D&D session with a gnomish bard. His name was Dimble Aleslosh Vinswick Inksmudge Dergal ((and if you get the humor in his name, you are my new best friend)), and he traversed the troubled countryside with song, trickery, and an occasional bit of heroics when the moment called for it. My personal favorite moment was when I finally had to retire the character (as college was ending), and our GM decided to send a raiding army whom had been put under the command of their god : Les Paul, to "Deliver hard rock to the kingdom of Kormyr" Dimble, now a 12th level Bard, had the perfect plan; casting a spell of Glibness upon himself (making his already impressive bluff check increase by +30 : at which point you might as well be altering reality with your lies) to declare "I am your god!", and introduced the raiding party to the art of rock and roll.
