ArmSLave1 Tell me if this sounds right, My friend says he can beat a 2000 point army of Imperials with only 1000 points of marines. Needless to say, he won. How can this happen? My army 100 or so guardsmen, 5 chimeras, 4 commissars, 3 antitank support squads, 2 leman russes My friends army. 31 marines, lascannons, flamers, and 1 predator with all lascannons, really, are marines oped, or do i just suck? Well since he sounds like he goes heavy on the lascannons your tanks were probably pretty vulnerable. but with that number of commissars your troops should have stayed on the field long enough to take down the marines even if he mega-cheesed them. Of course if he's a ultra rules lawyer who uses RAW like the double bannana and you are a guliable noob I can see how you would lose it. Just learn from your mistakes and start playing down at your local GW to learn all the rules not just the ones your friend wants you to know.

Does anybody know how to achieve the box-art style of Cadian uniform? If you used the applied colors (Kommando Khaki over Khemri Brown) it doesn't look the same.

Odd, I thought they used desert yellow for those uniforms. At least that's what the old codex tells me.

It might be better to base with khemri brown, go with desert yellow over that followed by a highlight / drybrush of bleached bone. Kommando khaki is a horrible colour to work with, it has almost no pigment.

They changed the color of the uniform. If you notice, the new guard uniform tends to be a brighter shade of khaki than the previous ones. I'm trying to replicate it and keep getting the darker shade.

Serebrate They changed the color of the uniform. If you notice, the new guard uniform tends to be a brighter shade of khaki than the previous ones. I'm trying to replicate it and keep getting the darker shade. Hm, odd that. The boxes of Cadians and command squads that I have here state the primary colour used is desert yellow. Maybe they added a crapton of white and other highlights to it to make it look lighter. No wait, the command set says desert yellow and the regular Cadian infantry set says khaki. Wunderbar. It might pay off to do several really thin layers of khaki, which shouldn't be too hard seeing as it is already pretty watery. I used khaki back then before I changed my mind and two-three layers of khaki tankbrushed over khemri brown seemed to work for me. I just washed it with sepia afterwards for extra shading.

"What is an Imperial Guardsman?
At the end of the day, though he's been ferried through Space Hell on a ship that's four thousand years old to his destination, though he deployed from high orbit with a grav chute, though he is one of ten million men raised from his homeworld to fight a war he barely understands, though he has been given a weapon that fires miniature suns and might annihilate him when he fires it because no-one knows how it works anymore, though his company is supported by tractor-tanks that run on anything you can burn, though he wages war against a devouring hivemind or space demons...
...a Guardsman is a man, just like you, though he grew up in another culture. He has no millenia-old genetic engineering, no prophetic leader, no miracles of faith. He has his lasgun, his orders, and his fellow soldiers.
/tg/"
Manly tears...

Caleidah Lt. Brookman I'd love to see the complete lists before making a full verdict but as of right now yes, you suck.
Other question before we get too far into it: How long have you guys been playing in relation to one another? He could just be that good.
