"Terminus Cave is just like any other cave... But it goes really deep." Maddy explained as they walked. They were almost at Terminus now. "It's almost like a maze. There has to be something hidden down there."

They found Caleb waiting for them as they approached Terminus Cave.
"Hey, Caleb!" Maddy greeted the boy, donning a smile, as usual. "You gonna join us today too?"

Noticing his Lairon getting a bit wary again, Caleb called it back before waving to Maddy and Rose.

"I'm here so I might as well..." Caleb replied with a shrug. Not to mention finding a Noibat was high on his list of things to do. His Marshtomp gave a salute.

The scanner...what do those readings mean?" Rose asked her "Does that....could it mean that one of the legendary Pokemon is here?"

Her Persian came closer to Rose, defensively, looking around them.

Maddy shrugged.
"The readings look different from Xerneas'... Way different."
Her brain was buzzing, skimming through all she knew about the Legendary Pokemon of Kalos. Sycamore had mentioned a third, mystery Pokemon. Could this be it?
"Whatever it is, it's gonna be impossible to find with readings like these." She continued, not able to make sense of where they should head in the cave. "We'll have to--"
The noise from the scanners seemed to have disturbed some of the local Pokemon. The Team suddenly found themselves surrounded!
"Tch." Maddy turned off her scanner and put it back in her handbag. "Everyone, take out 2 of these angry Pokemon!"

Maddy sent out her Sliggoo as a Sandslash approached her. It rushed forward and struck the little Dragon-type with Crush Claw. The blow wasn't overly powerful, thanks to Sliggoo's Eviolite, but it did manage to lower her Defense. The next attack would hit harder, for sure.
"Muddy Water!"
A wave of brown, dirty water rushed through the cave and washed over Sandslash, dealing a harsh blow. Sandslash pounded the ground with it's fists and caused a terrifying Earthquake, hitting Sliggoo hard.
"Blizzard!"
A terrible snow storm picked up inside the cave, buffeting Sandslash and causing it to faint.
Maddy was about to recall Sliggoo when a Larvitar appeared out of nowhere and attacked with Stone Edge, slashing the Dragon-type with the sharp edge of a rock. Sliggoo fainted and Maddy exchanged her for Charmander.
"Power-Up Punch!"
Charmander balled his little hand into a fist and punched the enemy Larvitar in the face, sending it reeling backwards. Charmander's Attack received a boost. Larvitar grabbed the rock it had used to slash Sliggoo and attacked Charmander with it, dealing a powerful blow.
"Brick Break!"
Thanks to Charmander's boost in Attack, the attack dealt a ton of damage and knocked out the Larvitar.
Maddy recalled her Pokémon and waited for the others.

Caleb sent out his Marshtomp and Trapinch as the angry pokemon rushed them.

A Sandslash was the first to green them, swinging its claws at them.

"Trapinch use Dig!" he ordered. The Trapinch burrowed underground before coming back up and jumping on the Sandslash. "Superpower!" he called before getting out a poke ball. Suddenly a Noibat swooped in and clung to his face, making him drop the poke ball.

"Getitoffgetitoffgetitoff!" he shouted, flailing around. His Marshtomp knocked it off before shooting a stream of water at it. Caleb grabbed the poke ball where it had fallen before throwing it at the Noibat. The Sandslash was long gone, much to his dismay.

"Oh well...at least it's something..." Caleb said, picking up the Noibat's poke ball.

"You mentioned Xerneas before. Did I miss something?" Rose asked her "Did you find it already, boss?"

Caleb put his Chinchou in his bag once the wild pokemon had ran off. Her antennae stuck out of his bag, providing light for them. He just continued to look around as Maddy and Rose talked. He came back over though as Xerneas and the third legendary pokemon were mentioned.
