The economy. It's s**t. Everyone knows that right now whether they want to admit it or not. A few years back, I would have more avidly tracked everything that is going on. I used to read newspapers and online journals and watch the news every day. You see, I wanted to stay informed. I felt like if I could stay informed, I could be well-educated and enlightened enough in order to, at some point, some time, make some kind of minute difference. I may not be much older, but I have forgone such optimism. The economy is s**t. So what? So's the whole goddamn world. Who cares if you don't have a job? At least you're not in fear of your life. You're on facebook, right? ******** you. Quit bitching. Your life is goddamn perfect. Why? Because someone, somewhere, right now, is about to die. Or is dying. And is in extreme pain. Not just stubbing your toe or even breaking your arm pain, but someone is bleeding to death, trying to hold their intestines in long enough for someone to find them because a bomb was just dropped on their neighborhood. And they don't even know why. They're just like you, just trying to etch out a living. And if they were lucky, they might have had access to the internet that you and I take for granted.

You're well fed. Even if you live on ramen noodles in a cup, and that's all you've had for the last month, you're well fed. Quit your whining. Your life is grand. Trust me, I can tell because you're weak. So am I. If a bomb were to hit us, we would wait it out, because someone is going to find us. We'll wait for the government to come help us, as they always have. That man, hell, it's maybe even a young boy, knows no one is going to come for him. Why? Because his government doesn't have ambulances. Or hospitals. Or anything, really, because his government has fallen apart. And not in some glorious revolution of the people, but because everyone, just like him, is bleeding out. He is stronger in these last seconds than you will ever be in your entire life, you pampered little ********. Proud to be an American? At least our government has things like ambulances and hospitals that we can go to, right? Well, you proud little American, you proud little piece of s**t, it was your tax dollars that killed that boy. Your tax dollars that built that bomb. Your tax dollars that built that plane. You killed him. Yes, you. Don't feign innocence that you voted for the other guy or that you didn't know. It won't fool me. And it won't fool that boy's father.

And you wonder why our towers get destroyed and our subways bombed.

A suicide bomber. Now, there is a strong individual. Regardless of their reasons, and regardless of if I support their reasons or not, at least they're actually doing something. What've you done? Voted? If you feel like you've done enough because you've voted, then you're just a ******** idiot. Voting doesn't accomplish anything. A lot of people are talking about Barack Obama. A lot of people have it in their mind that he's going to change this country. He's not. Face it. He's a tool. He wakes up every day, knowing that he's had to kiss far too much a** to get where he is to actually accomplish anything worthwhile. You should have no hope in him. He will change nothing. Oh, sure, some things may change that appear to be his doing, but I assure you, there are too many checks and balances to actually do anything through the government. Even if Obama has radical ideas (which he doesn't), he would have to have those radical ideas accepted by 2/3rds of the Senate (which would never happen). We designed it this way, remember? One person cannot make change through the government. Hell, even as a group working outside the government, it takes years to make progress. The feminist movement showed that. The equal rights movement showed that. And you'll also notice that while we now speak fondly of these movements, the majority of people stood against them for quite a long time. Their actions were looked down upon, and were often considered illegal. Illegal actions always have more effect. That's why they're illegal. John Hinckley, Junior, now he was a man who almost created massive change. Sure, he did it for the wrong reasons, and sure, he failed, but at least he tried. And you're going to vote. Good job, citizen. America is proud of you for maintiaining the status quo.

Four more years, shithead.

I'm not necessarily saying that you should go out and assassinate someone. No, we'll leave that to the bad guys. Thanks, Lee Harvey Oswald. Thanks, Nathuram Godse. Thanks, Mark David Chapman. Wait, scratch that last one... But the fact of the matter remains that these people, these ******** that killed some good people, made way more change in the world than you ever will. Do you see? You're weak. And, to be completely honest with you, if it really came down to the wire, even in a life or death situation, I would say that 90% of people in the world would not do what they had to in order to survive. We've lost our edge. Civilisation has made us weak. Religion has made us weak. Comfort has made us weak. All of us. But especially people like you and me who have lived our whole lives in complete fearlessness. You see, living in fear makes you aware. It makes you ready to fight. It gets the adrenaline really flowing and opens your mind and body up that at any given moment, it may have to do everything in its power in order to survive. We have grown weak without fear. Even when we experience fear its from a distance, such as the nuclear scare. You've never seen a bomb hit your house. You've never even seen an army on U.S. soil. Well, unless you were alive sometime around... 1812? Ha, like that would happen. You'd be too old to figure out the new facebook, am I right?

Speaking of nuclear weapons, they're pretty bad a**. Think about it. We have so many of these ********, that we could literally erase not just all humans everywhere, but even any trace that we were ever here to begin with. Why? Do you need that much power? ******** no. Absolutely not. But doesn't it make you feel strong? Doesn't it make you feel safe? Progress. That's the nuclear bomb. And that's where we really start to descend into the spiral of madness. Progress is not made in health or in governing or in peace, it is always made in the effort to kill more people. Rarely do great discoveries get made that aren't at least ideas for war first. Because, you see, that's where are real motivation is. We feel like we might get scared sometime soon if we don't have a little extra layer of protection to help keep us safe. We wouldn't want to risk it, now would we. I mean, even with nuclear bombs, when we have way, way more than enough, we won't dismantle them. Even though they're the very threat we're scared of. Because we're afraid that we might take ours offline and the other, the lying b***h (probably Russia, those ********), won't. And then we're stuck. Comrade will have us in the corner, and after almost two decades of laying in waiting, they'll unveil the hammer and sickles they're hiding in red square and come after us. You all know it's true, don't deny it. And what's even funnier is the fact that the huge amount of nuclear weapons have led us to lose a few, that are probably in the hands of people who really do want to kill us, and who have lived long enough in fear. Long enough in fear that will temper their resolve until it is strong. People like that boy's father that I mentioned earlier.

And I hope he does it, too. Because we would be afraid again.

I'm not saying I agree with him. Innocent people shouldn't be killed because other innocents were killed, right? Oh, but you're not innocent. Your money, remember? I lied. I do agree with him.

Thankfully, he'll go to hell. So will you, probably, but at least there's justice. The only people in heaven, in the end, would be the children that were too young to be held accountable. They got the easy ticket out, lucky sons (and daughters) of bitches. Other than that, getting into heaven seems pretty ******** hard. Well, it's a good thing there is no hell, 'cause we'd all end up there anyway. And there's no karma, either. You see, the weak invented this idea of divine justice in order to scare the strong into being weak and submissive. The suicide bomber that kills to end up in heaven is weak, because he's been manipulated into doing so by someone else too weak to do it themselves. The same with our 'legitimate' wars. The rich ******** that will profit off of the war, and yes, that's the only reason we go to war, have to convince the poor ******** to actually go fight the war for them. Since they want to get their profit and eat it, too. Sometimes this is done for them (Afghanistan). Sometimes it takes a little work (Iraq). It's a shame the poor have always gone along with it, and, quite often, religion is somewhere in the mix. Our God is on our side, their God is on their side, and your dog is by your side as you sit back and enjoy the explosions in high-definition and 8.1 surround sound. Gladiator fights of the 21st century. And it still reels in the crowds.

I have no reason to believe in anything. I have no reason to have faith in anything. Everything will let me down. Absolutely everything. From my best friend to my political party to my god. So why believe at all? Nihilism gets a bad rap these days, but it's the only idea that I can seem to wrap my mind around as genuinely logical. Everything else just falls short. So, you might think I'm crazy now to believe in nothing, but one of these days, you're going to realize that you're living in a madhouse with no way out. One of these days, you're going to reach the end of your rope, and there'll be nothing below you to catch you, nothing to help you swing across the infinite chasm below you, nothing to even talk to you to keep you company while you sit there. Finally, you'll begin to see and begin to realize the truth.

You're in the madhouse. And when you're at that point, the madhouse will finally get in you.

And there'll be nothing to go but take the end of the rope, make a noose, and hang yourself.
