Taking a chance - a slight one, since he was well hidden in the darkness of the torchless corridor - Earendil stopped his magic so that he could listen more closely.
Tinuviel, were she here, would have been having a lot of fun with this, he thought with a wishful grin. Then again, she would have been cheating, more than likely, going through walls and scaring the poor kid with her giggling.
She had a habit of doing that.
In Lin's hand, the flower grew steadily more purple, though it grew no brighter.

"Maybe I'm getting closer?" Lin though as she went back to the wall to creep up.
She slowly began to slide her feet across the floor as she tried looking around. She wanted a sign or a sight of something that might be Earendil. It was also getting so hard to stay quiet.

Earendil heard the shuffling of feet right on the other side of the wall against which he was plastered. Had he left any signs, he wondered, in that hall?
Or had he even come through that hall? He blinked. It appeared that Lin had found an alternate route to his hiding place ...
Well, at least if she looked through the doorway into the corridor he was hiding in, she wouldn't be able to see him right away. It was pitch black in there, and he was skinny enough not to stick out from the wall too much. Even without using magic.

She peered down through the doorway into the corridor holding out the flower and watching as it cast shadows. Taking a small step into in the hall she looked about her for any sign of life. Not that she saw anything....

Earendil spotted Lin peering down the hallway and stayed absolutely still. He watched as the flower in her hand - though it wasn't bright by any means - grew to be as purple as anything he had ever seen. Odd ... he had never seen any of his magicks do that before. Then again, he had never given away his magic to anyone who he had meant to find him before.
It flashed red once, and he blinked in silent surprise. It was seeking him out for her!

Lin jumped a bit not expecting it to flash red like that as she whirled around, stopping at her tracks. Was time up? No.. that couldn't be it, but it flashed red like it had in the beginning of the game. She couldn't hear anything either. Taking a sight breath she looked around slowly using the flower seeing as it was her only source of light. Maybe she thought as she got nearer to the walls, she should use the walls.
Though if she kept walking like that she was going to bump into a certain someone.

Earendil chuckled silently, inwardly, an idea forming in his mind. Perhaps it was time to see if the rest of his magic worked as well as his flower did.
He started humming softly, and again it was not manifested as sound, but as an image. Directly across the hall from the little girl, a silhouette appeared or glowing blue fire, just as Earendil himself had appeared when they had been going up the stairs. Of course, it was nothing more than illusion - though it looked just like him.

Lin turned seeing the image, thinking he was glowing because of the flower followed 'him' She picked up her pace to catch up with him, seeing as he was much taller and therefore could go much faster without even trying.

Earendil was pleased - his illusion was working.
At least - it was until his stomach growled, and he stopped singing in surprise. The image dissipated, and he became visible, standing almost but no longer completely hidden in the shadows.

Night descended over the plantation, filling the sky with blackness. Completely surrounded by desert, the plantation was silent save for the muted voices of the workers and hands chattering in their barracks. Laer had returned to the house some time earlier, and introductions had all been gone through again. Lex was off on a delivery, and wouldn't be back for several weeks.
Nadya, despite being a member of the party that would be leaving in the morning, was doing more than her share in helping everyone settle in and get comfortable for the night. Having anticipated the arrival of several guests, there were rooms available for most of them - though a few of them would have to share.
"Elrohir," she murmured to him as they all sat in the livingroom after dinner, "would you mind sharing a room with Gion? And Triton and Yue, perhaps ... Donovan, if you'd like you can have a room of your own ... and Mia as well ..."
She would give Mia her own room and simply sleep with her mother for the night. It wasn't the first time such arrangements had been necessary, and she was certain it would not be the last. Of course, had her father also been home, she would simply have offered to sleep in the room above the stables. She was as comfortable there as anywhere else. A bed, after all, was a bed.

Yue was use to sharing a room with someone seeing as he had been raised almost joint to the hip with Yukito up until they were teens. He nodded, "I would not mind," he replied.
At least it was with Triton, that he could deal with easily.
Mia from where she was nodded, "Thank you," she was clean and quite happy with herself, and in the heat Alice had dried fairly quickly.
Lin whirled around, the sound was hard to miss, she didn't even get to see the illusion disappear. She did however get to see Earendil, or what little she did see in the shadows. Quickly as she went, she came back running over to Earendil.
"Are you hungry?"

Triton shook his head, "I don't mind at all."
He had after all shared a room and bed with Gion the last time he was here. Poor guy, Triton had no control over his tail while he slept. So he was fine with the sleeping arrangement, besides Elrohir would be more comfortable with his brother Triton had figured, and no one really wanted to room with Donovan or Mia. Especially not Mia.

"Arrangements are fine," Donovan murmured, seeing as he had no trouble iwth it.
He shouldn't, he had a room to himself, and while he didn't mind sharing with Triton or Yue, he figured the way it would be arranged was for the best.

Earendil laughed heartily. "I guess so," he replied cheerfully, kneeling down to get a little closer to the little girl's height. He reached out with one hand, and the flower she held faded entirely and vanished.
"You're quite good," he grinned at her. "Next time, though, I'll be sure to eat first so that doesn't happen again. Did you have fun?"

"It really makes me wonder how we all fit in here, back when we lived with Mother and Father," Elrohir remarked dryly. "Here we are, five of us having to double up, when we used to have nine of us kids, plus Mother and Father, plus Lex and Laer and Nadya, and as I recall the only doubling up was by Mother and Father, and Lex and Laer."
He chuckled.
