Without looking at him, she gave him her hand, and pulled herself to her feet. She felt absolutely terrible, but didn't know why. Why am I so affected so much by this? She shut her eyes for a few seconds to think, but it was all for nothing. She kept her eyes fixed on the ground, not wanting to see the expression on his face.

RandomFantasy Holly watched the lesson with interest as it progressed. Then she answered Dream's question. "I died not too long ago. I had a very fragile immune system and a disease that deteriorated it. So, when I found out that Earth was once more availiable to me, I decided that I would go back to explore the beauty of this world and to be with my family again." Holly stared off for a moment, then chuckled to herself. "Well, there's always that other thing, but I don't feel a need to mention it right now. And don't worry, it's not anything bad. Let's just say I'm a hopeless romantic." Holly chuckled slightly again. "So, what's going on now?" "Not too much, we're stuck for something to do. Is there anything you want to do? I'm open to sensible suggestions." He laughed at her mention of 'that other thing'. "And also, I think almost everyone here is a bit of a romantic, except for Violet and me. And I'm only not because I've seen too much to like it anymore."

Hearing her name mentioned Violet scowled, or at least gave Dream a grin that promised torment later. "Romance is pointless, It's just an excuse to gain something from another person without resorting to violence," she said, more to herself then anyone in particular. Her voice still dripped with contained anger and her wings were still twitching with the urge to get away from the angel and the brightness she was giving out.

He looked at Violet, not worrying about her grin of future torture. He smiled at her. "I guess you can look at it thhat way if you want, and I partially agree with you. It's a good description, even if I don't fully support it. Although it is true to some extent." He turned to Holly again. "She seemes to want to either leave, or have you leave. I understand her reasoning, you're an angel, she's a demon. They don't work too well together." He sighed. "I can probably stop her from destroying you, but it'd probably be a good idea to move away a bit."

Violet chuckled softly. "I think 'probably' is the crucial word there," she added, looking over her sunglasses for a moment or two. Turning back to Dream she asked, "Why don't you agree fully? I thought you said you were not a 'Romantic'" she asked, sneering as she mentioned the word. With one long slender finger she pushed her sunglasses back up her nose, her large, lidless eyes already hurting from the light.

Haucon dropped her hand once she was on her feet. "Let's go." he said starting to walk. "We can go back to the others, or wander for a bit if you want." he said. His voice was hollow, not friendly or unfriendly, but empty. He lit up a cigarette and let it hang from his mouth as he walked. breathing in through his mouth and exhaling the smoke through his nose.

A shudder ran down Leila's spine as she followed behind him. This was not what she wanted, for him to be acting like this. The smell of the smoke stunk to her now, and she didn't want to be anywhere near it. But she didn't want to run away again. What would it help? She didn't want to go back to the others, not just yet. "Wandering sounds like a good idea..." she said softly, almost barely inaudible. Leila wanted him to be like he was before, but that seemed like an impossibility now. She knew he had an idea of what had just happened, but it felt like he was hating her for it. Maybe I deserve to be hated...for what I am...I'll never be happy...

Haucon walked a little slower so he was next to Leila. He was beginning to relax a little. You can't blame her for what she is, and therefore has to do. he told himself. He sighed, exhaling a massive plume of smoke, being sure to direct it away from her. He took the cigarette out of his mouth so he could talk. "You ok?" he asked, looking at her for the first time since they'd started walking.

Leila said nothing in response, walking but inched a way a bit when he had slowed down to her speed. She turned her head so that she was looking away from him, as if something in that direction had caught her interest. The sun had set already, some of the streetlights that hadn't been knocked over were now lit, casting an orange glow on everything. She turned back to face forward, glancing at his face for a mere second out of the corner of her eye. The smoke from his cigarette disappeared, carried away and melting into nothingness in the slight breeze. If only she could've been that smoke, melting into nothingness...maybe it would be easier if she was simply forgotten.

Haucon dropped his cigarette and stamped it out. He stopped walking and turned to her more fully. "Would you at least talk?" he was getting frustrated now. "First you leave, now you don't talk..." he reached over and took her face between his hands turning it toward him. "Please." he added. "You did what you had to do, I have to get over it...case closed." he sighed and let go of her face.

((*fdl* my sick mind imagined that Haucon was trying to snap her neck xD))
Leila stopped when he took her face in his hands, her own eyes opened in surprise as she finally saw his face since they had parted. "I...I thought you hated me...for what I had to do...that's why..." Her head lowered again, the confusion racing through her brain, leaving her mouth with no words to say. She rubbed at her shoulder absent-mindedly, the images of a few minutes ago clouding her thoughts. What I had to do...
"I have to get over it."
The words repeated themselves over and over again. Head still lowered, she peered up at him with worried eyes. "You are...accepting of what I am?" What would've been her human heart stopped for a second as she waited for his answer.

Haucon dropped his hands to his side. "I don't have much choice, do I?" he said hopelessly. "You can't help it, so there's nothing I can do. I don't like it, but I have to accept it." he said looking at her face full on.

Leila's eyes fell to the left. "There is always choice. There is forgetting and moving on. Forgetting would make it easier, make you happier, than having to deal with me and my problems. After all, you are a fairy with beautiful soft wings...while I am just a demon...a demon who does horrible, ugly things. It would be best not to taint yourself with me..." Leila turned away and started walking again. What was she doing?! She was happy at his words, but depression still gripped her heart and mind, convincing her that she probably wasn't good enough for him anyway.

Haucon was tempted to let her go, but something caught in him. He reached out and grabbed her arm. "Don't you get it?!" he nearly shouted. "I can't forget. No matter if you were Satan himself I couldn't forget." he said. "It doesn't matter what you are or I am or how that should affect us. It shouldn't! " he sighed again.

"Why?" was the only thing that came out of her mouth. Leila knew what she felt, but didn't know how to describe it, as she had never experienced these sensations before. All she knew that it was connected to him somehow, to his happiness. And maybe to hers, in someway. "Why?" she repeated the question more sternly. "It is not hard to forget once one has been out of the other's sight for long enough..."
