I think it's sad and all, what happened at Virginia Tech, and not to be insensitive, but... I feel that perhaps this has been blown out of proportion.

My condolences go out to the family and friends of the victims, however, it makes me think about all the people who die in violence, even on this magnitude, and are never even mentioned, once, by the President.

I lived in Beaumont, Texas, during Rita, and was forced to be evacuated from my home for months on end. Because there was no home when I got back, and FEMA refused to do anything. They had exhausted all their resources with Katrina. And as I was halfway across the state, all I would hear about is Katrina this, Katrina that... and it hurt. So, I wonder if focusing on the Tech shooting isn't... in a way, hurting people who have been subject to similar violence, but never got any similar retribution.

Our principle gave us this great announcment, (and trust me, I'm being sarcastic), saying that "we are not a 4-20 building". Everyone in my class was like "WTF? What's a 4-20 building?" We'd never heard the term before...I think he made the "building" part up.

Still, this shooter guy...if he wrote screenplays and things that were so disturbing, why didn't they require him to go to counciling? It strikes me as sad...I'm a bit of a loner, too. I know what it's like to left on the outside looking in.

Those are always the students nobody cares for, and the ones that everyone only pays attention to when the screw up. And I guess this guy got screwed up...big time.

Still, I feel bad, but it really doesn't stop my day. I guess...it happens, sadly, even though we try to stop it. There's no more we can do except keep moving forward and try to help disturbed loners like the shooter...get them help before something goes wrong.

So I guess all we can do now is sit back, breathe, and remember that the world hasn't ended; 2+2 still equals 4. All is okay for now.

And the reason schools don't look into these things more is because they either don't care, which is more likely, or they think it's something it's not. Emos and Goths around the world probably right stuff similar to what he wrote, so schools don't think much of it after awhile.

However, you gotta remember, most people look down on people who act like individuals..... You're either identical to most of the other people in most ways, or you're the one everyone scoffs and laughs at. After awhile, it's enough to make most people snap, but most of the idiots who do this to these people don't ever think about what they're doing to the other person. I'm pretty sure that's what made him do what he did, and although it was still an evil thing to do, that's what makes most people do stuff like that.People just don't seem to care about anyone who acts different. Still, it's sad that these morons have to cause other people to die because they couldn't get to know someone better, and instead chose to make their life a living nightmare......

The guy coulda simply lost his mind, but I highly doubt that, since he had those disturbing writings......
