Isskio flies around at home... she's still mad at her person! Grr!

He should have tasties, shouldn't he? Yes! Tasties yummies and maybe scratches for friendly visitor! Where is he? Ah ha!
She swoops down toward a high weyr, and finding him inside, chirps brightly and lands on his shoulder.
Hungry! she tells him.

P'las laughed. "Very true. Peri's out sunning himself right as we speak. Perhaps they absorb the heat and use it for jumps between? Interesting... I wonder if Peri would know..."

Kya is attacked by a gold monster! He attempts to dodge it but she lands neatly on his shoulder and chirps, as though she hadn't bitten his nose--there were still faint lines on it from her assasult!--the last time she'd divebombed him like that.
"Isskio... what? Oh. Hungry? Yeah. I. Uh. Food. Um." He scratches his head and pokes around. He'd been cleaning, and had found the dried herdbeast strips he'd used when Nimakio was still having insane hunger pangs all the time... now where did he put them? Ah ha! "Here you go, gnaw on that a while." He hands Isskio a large strip of the tough meat, then takes one for himself before plopping down on a long padded bench.
"So Ray's been driving you crazy too, eh girl?"

Ray laughs with P'las. "That's a dragon for you. So easy to make them happy and keep them that way. Food, sun, some attention every now and then, and a good bath and oiling."
She notices that she doesn't have to feign a good mood anymore. Perhaps Wrath being so deeply asleep meant her emotions weren't fraying Ray's? She can't tell.

"Aye, that's the truth. Keep them full, let them sleep, scratch their eyeridges, oil and bathe them... You've got yourself a happy dragon. Though oiling a large dragon like a bronze or gold can be the job of an entire day..." His grimace suggested that he'd spent quite a few days with such a task.

Ray laughs again at P'las's expression. "Another aspect which makes flits useful... they love bathing too, and helping dragons bathe. They don't oil so well, but in areas like the wing sails, where it doesn't matter if the skin gets soaked in oil, they have a lot of fun flying around with rags sopping with oil clutched in their hind talons, dragging them around."

Isskio accepts the strip of dried herdbeast and begins chewing on it, managing a muffled squawk as Kya flops down on his couch. He says something, she doesn't quite follow it too well, but he's talking about her person. She bobs her head, knowing that her person likes it when she does that.

The bronzerider raised an eyebrow. "Really? Sign me up for an entire wing of 'em!" He grinned impishly. "Seem to be quite useful, then. Fight Thread, bathe and oil a dragon..." He paused. "And they can take messages, right?"

K'makin scratches Isskio's chin. "You're awfully agreeable today," he tells her. He yawns and closes his eyes a moment.
Okay... several moments.
He starts snoring.

"Yes, they'll take messages, but a green or blue has to be very well trained to actually take them to their intended destinations. I saw a green with a message strapped to her leg spend a whole day chasing shiny bugs. Every time I looked outside, there she was, pouncing on another one of them."

Isskio makes an irritated sound when he falls asleep. The little blue one isn't around... And her Biiiiggg friend wasn't in a mood to play, she was sleeping.
Maybe her Big friend would have time for a bored flit! After she finishes her dried herdbeast, Isskio crawls off his shoulder and flies to find her Big friend Nakoreth.

P'las chuckled. "Sounds like greens and blues have a few dead glows in their heads. Perhaps I should avoid them..."
The little ones are fun. Can we keep one?
I'll try and find us one, Peri. But we'll have to get one in the egg.
The ones flying around are interesting.

"Well, they aren't quite as smart as golds or bronzes. Smaller brains, I guess. But just like in dragons, each one is an individual, and some are smarter than others. It's just that overall, blue and green flits are a bit dimmer than the others. They're very useful in Threadfall though, which is why I specifically requested a smallish egg. I think the weyrling guessed this one to be a blue, judging by the banding on the pot." She gestures at it.
