Jasi took a deep breath. This lioness seemed friendly enough, even though the other cubs didnt seem to welcoming, but she still didnt know if she could trust them. She looked back towards the den, and could see Taka still fighting with the lion, and she could see Yakuti also climb out of the den, quite ungracefully. She had no choice. "M-my family...were in trouble. My friends mother, a cheetah is getting attacked by another lion, and he wants to make me and my friends into slaves." at the thought of being a slave she gave a little shudder, hoping she was still doing the right thing.

Mwali snarled, lashing his paw out once again. Curse the fox kit… he’d not thought that he’d move as quickly as he was. Perhaps if Mwali had ever hunted for himself he’d know that the fox’s were among the more agile of their game… and this was just a kit. His paw swept underneath his father in another attempt to scoop the fox out, his other paw was waiting to pin him if he managed to flush the little one out. It was seriously trying his patience, he even began considering letting his claws out, maybe he’d disable the damn thing.

Kinja could feel anger growing in her. Makadari was trying to get new slaves,a nd cubs none the less! A growl escaped her. Looking to her little ones and the new cub she made a quick decision. "All of you stay in the thicket. Should you come out you will be punished accordingly." Her tone of voice didn't leave for any arguing. "Same with you." She directed to the new commer before darting off. Makadari's scent was strong and it didn't take her long to find the place that a small battle was ensuing at.
She let a loud roar escape her, calling both to Makadari to stop and Kiu for help. She wasn't sure if her mate would support her or his father but she wasn't about to stand by and allow such a ruthless lion make slaves of small cubs. Prowling up to the king her yellow teeth were bared, showing she wasn't about the back down from him. "What do you think you're doing? Making slaves out of cubs!? That's stooping a bit low, even for you."
(Why do I get the feeling hte Kinja is going to regret doing htis later? LOL)

(yakutis not a kit, just wokovu's caretaker ^_^ back when jua was killed she adopted one of the lion cubs because the gods told a munch of animals too and blessed them. n stuff. Wonder what Maka will think with his son like.. trying to get something out from under him XD)
The fennec fox's little heart raced, doging huge paws that for some reason were lacking the extended claws of death.. Though that had not regestered in her mind. she gave a squeak, as suddenly the breath was knocked out of her and she hit the ground, the large paw ontop of her. 'this is it, i'm dead.' she squirmed, trying to pull herself out from under the massive red paw.
Wokovu stared at the scene.. not sure if he should run, or try to help his mom.. which was right though? he wasn't sure but he knew he'd have to decide right then...

Jasi nodded solemly, heaving a sigh a relief. She was glad this lioness would help her and her friends. She watched as she left the thicket, and then turned ther eyes to the den. She hoped the others wernt too afraid. She wasnt sure what to do now, so she made her way over to the cubs, an uneasy smile on her face. "Um..hello there." She wasnt sure if these cubs could talk yet, but she needed someone to talk to right now.

Kimeti looked at the little lioness before grinning and walking up to her. "Hello, I am Kimeti." He circled her a few times, looking at her coast. "You don't have a red coat like us and our parents." He noted aloud as he stopped in front of Jasi. "Why is that?" He had come to think all lions and lionesses had red coats, not that he had seen any others of his kind besides his parents and siblings.

Mwali kept the fox kit pinned under his paw, leaning close to him to whisper very, very low under his breath - his tone was a bit softer than one would expect from the lion, but here was a sharp sternness to it, “I will not kill you… if you do as you are told I will also not make your life miserable… I cannot guarantee the same from my father’s paw and I’d think you’d rather not try your luck.” He turned up slowly to the approaching lioness, bearing his fangs and giving her a definite snarl. The prince wasn’t about to have his father’s will questioned by a mere lioness- sure she was probably going to be queen but he owed no allegiance to her in any way shape or form- and she was obviously not pleased with him.
“Stay out of this, Kinja... How dare you question the will of your king?” He snapped, flicking his tail with growing irritation, “Test either of our patience and instead of living as slaves, they very well may die as this evening’s snacks…” It was an empty threat on his part- he was more so speaking for his father than himself. He knew that his father was not a tolerant lion and would probably be more angry with the lioness than anything else. With a huff he bent down once again and seized the kit around his belly. His teeth caged around his sides but didn’t come close to even pressing into the young fox’s skin too hard. He carried him much like he would a cub- only instead of the scruff, he held him by the waist. He’d not escape now… and it looked threatening enough to get Kinja to back down.

With a last fleeting glance at the oasis and the desert beyond, as well as the home of the lions. Her eyes flickered with a pang of wanting to belong, but she shook her head. She was only a pup, yet she felt she needed to be mature, she was ashamed to cry. Her mind pounded with thoughts of why... Why was she here? Her sighs were only formed by sadness now as she picked up her small paws and padded onwards, her destination a mystery. Her home lost.

Jasi watched the cub walk around her, and she sniffed at him a little curiously. "My name is Jasiri, or Jasi for short." She looked at her dark brown coat, and then looked at the cubs, all with the tradional firekin red coats. "Its because im not from your pride. Your pride all have the same color coats, and since im not one of you, I have a differnent color coat. Its kinda hard to explain, and im sure if you ask you mother when she comes back, she'll give you a much better explanation." She said, as she tiredly ploped herself down in the warm sand.

"All prides should have the same coats." Kavuasi spoke up. "If you ever join a pride, you'll never fit in." The bright-red cub was now sitting, at a respectable distance from both Jasi and his brother. His eyes were flashing, not of anger, but from the sparks flying through his mind. This whole situation was BRILLIANT to him!
"That is, of course, if you join a pride without your pelt color..."

Jasi stretched, her muscles were a little sore from running. She looked at the bright red male cub as he spoke, and took a moment to think about her answer. "I already have a pride..." she said with a sly grin. "And you wont belive how differnent we are. But we all get along, and love each other, and I suppose thats all that matters." She gsmiled thoughtfully to herself, thinking of the others. She hoped they were ok, and she hoped the mother wouldnt get hurt by that male. That would be terrible! She looked back at the cubs, there eyes bright and shining, not a care in the world. She layed her head on her paws, staring at the sand.

Kavuasi seemed to have read her mind. "I'm sure your pride is fine." He spoke softly, standing and shaking sand off his back paws. "And our mother will be as well. Our father is an Heir, he'll take care of her." At the word Heir, Kavu stuck his chest out, looking extremely proud.

Jasi chuckled, and started to feel better. "Yes im sure she is. And, you must also be a heir, i presume?" Jasi had guessed, seeing the cub seemed so proud at the word. She had no idea that the lioness she just talked to would soon be queen! And these cubs are all royalty also.

"I... don't think so..." Confusion passed over Kavu's eyes, and his chest deflated considerably. "The firstborn is heir, right? I was born third. One of my sisters is the heir." Then, he shrugged. "Maybe father will choose another for his heir, though. Only time can tell."

Jasi thought for a moment. "Ive never been in a pride myself, but...I thought ive heard it twas to be the first born male of the group, but it could be different for your pride." She got up and walked over to the cub, sitting down nest to it. She tugged at his ear a little. "Maybe someday you'll be kind, eh?" she said with a grin.
