Our uniforms are okay. We look like tin soldiers. Black pants with red stripes down the sides and suspenders. -sudders- But the pants are made out of like PJ cloth so they are comfy! ^_^ The top is a military looking top that zips up in the back, Can you say pain in the butt much!? They are ancient but in pretty good condition, we rent ours from school not keep. 10 dollar fee for cleaning and such but nobody pays it. biggrin The top is all red and has one of those white ruffle thingys in it and the gold ropes on the shoulder. As said we look like tin soldiers. then again we are the sentinels.

Then again I"m considered goth/emo...but that's besides the point. It's always cold at the football games! granted we'd be dieing in the spring and summer parades but we only have like three of those.

We used to have really crappy ones. All white top (stained so easily), blue pants with a stripe down the leg (looks so bad when you get out of step) and just nothing cool about it. It even zipped up in the back. No pockets, and huge Shakos with giant ugly gold things on the front.
But! next year we get new ones! All blue, no pants stripe, shakos with a smaller gold thing, buttons on the front, and a way cool design. And I, as drum major, get a cape! Woot!
jeje I'm so excited for next years marching season.

Oh, I have had a long list of bad (and good) choir uniforms throughout my singing history.
6th grade, we wore these fluffy, flowy white, button-down shirts with a big rounded collar made out of some kind of shiny polyester. With that, we wore these HUGE black pants (they were made to look like flowing dresses) that were some kind of crepe polyester. To top it all off, we had this shiny, bright blue cummerbund and some character shoes. stare We had a string of pearls, but that didn't trouble me so much.
7th and 8th grade, our uniforms were considerably better. We had pretty black dresses (that actually varied in texture from dress to dress) with a heart-shaped neck line and a nice darted seam down the sides. They had little sleeves. We wore them with blue plaid sashes that hung over our right shoulder and fastened at our left hip with a giant, silver safety pin. The ensemble was topped off with a string of pearls and character shoes. 3nodding In 7th grade, our teacher even attempted to have us all wear the same shade of lipstick. (bad idea.) It only looked good on a handful of people. (Fortunately, me included). She soon realized how badly the color looked on most of us, and gave up on the lip color.
Freshman year at Dreyfoos was another story.Ms. Sparks had us in these AWFUL white flowy shirts. They were worse than the ones in 6th grade. No buttons, but a big scooping affect across the front. And the sleeves had elastic in the cuffs, which were cutting off the circulation to my hands. We wore some ugly, nondescript black A-line skirts and those were topped off with the ugliest belt you will ever see. stressed They were made out of a bunch of satin chording all twisted together in coordinating colors which lasted until you got to the sides. The back of it was just black elastic with a big plastic clip. Ew. And they didn't even coordinate with one another at all! Each belt was a different vomit-worthy color. And don't forget those character shoes. ^_^
Sophomore year was much, much better! We all got shiny black satin dresses with a thick sash on the back to tie a big pretty bow. It also had a heart-shaped neckline, but it was sleeveless. Floor-length and very elegant. heart Mine was kinda tight, though. Other girls had their dresses hanging off of them. (We had amateurs with measuring tape fitting us.) Topped off with, ahh yes, character shoes!
Junior year gets interesting. In my junior year, I was inducted into the highest level choir, the Dreyfoos Singers. It's funny how the greatest choir gets the WORST uniform! The guys were lucky. They got your basic black tux. But it sucked for the girls! We had to wear these dresses made out of unknown fabric that had a wood pattern in it. They had puffy sleeves, a straight, long torso, and a big, A-line bottom. They came down to about below the knee, and because of the girls' different heights, they all hit different spots on our legs. The neckline was high and nearly suffocating. But that's not the worst part. They were all different colors! Blech! crying We had bright pink ones, turquoise ones, purple ones and blue ones. They were all in this deep, heavy shade, like some weird frump collection. Mine was blue, the most normal color in the bunch. The guys had to wear the same colors in their bow ties and cummerbunds. At least they weren't covered head to toe in it. Ah yes, and we can't forget those character shoes!
Senior year (see sophomore year).
Lotta ups and downs. dramallama
