((Sorry guys...

Well my power cord on my laptop gave out...
I’ll be on as much as I can but I can’t make any promises as I’ll be relying on other people’s computers...
I should get a new one in about 15 days...))

Zera looked at Kayoe, “A duel? Kayoe you’re in no condition to fight!” Zera was genuinely concerned about him, but Kayoe just shrugged it off/
“I regained consciousness hours ago, I’m fine, and have been so the majority of the time since I woke up.” Kayoe walked up to where Thorn was and stood a few feet away. Unfortunately for his opponent, in his a little under 2 decades of traveling the world, Kayoe had encountered a variety of weapons, axes being some of the least exotic, as they were a slightly cheaper weapon and had other purposes besides combat. This however didn’t mean that if Thorn was disciplined in the art of wielding an axe, that he had encountered his style before
“An axe is heavy, so it takes more force to start and stop, thereby if you try to pull your punches, you’ll lose effectiveness. Strike as if you intend to kill, or else your defeat is assured.” Kayoe grabbed the hilt of his blade, but didn’t draw it. He then crouched low so as to be able to move in any direction at a moment’s notice.

Thorn couldn't help but smile at the words of the swordsman. "Ahh my friend that is where you are wrong." Thorn spun the ax around around him like it was a staff. "This ax is special, my father made it for me then he enchanted it so that only those that I wish can wield it and when it is in contact with me it weighs as much as a grass seed in the summer breeze. The only resistance I will feel will be that of the wind." With that Thorn lunged at the larger man showing how fast he could swing the weightless ax.

((we have lost alot of people I was looking at all the profiles on the first page of the thread and there are people that i don't even remember XD Even after I read the whole thing twice))

Tanyeera watched the duel intently and quickly saw how Thorn was utilising the weightlessness of the axe to its full effect. On the other hand, Kayoe was quite skilled... it looked to be an even match for now.

((It's all good Shadow. Life happens.

@Hoid Toid: Yeah, I know. I've already tried to get people back but no one's come. Unfortunately, because I don't have the ability to change Blade's posts, I cant make any changes so we're stuck the way we are XP))

Adencia leaned back against Meena who was lying in a grassy patch of earth and munching on the greens. She watched Kayoe and Thorn with a small smile. They seemed to be getting along well – everyone was. It was a nice feeling, to be around friends. Friends. Now when was the last time she had had one of those?

Ekko flapped down to the elf in a flurry of feathers and dropped a dead hare at her feet. Meena whinnied at the hawk and Ekko clicked his beak menacingly. Meena stayed silent, seemingly intimidated by one who was much smaller than she. Adencia stroked Ekko’s chest fondly and whistled to get him up on her shoulder.

“Now that was thoughtful of you,” Adencia said to the bird, “You’ve brought us dinner. You deserve a little something for your consideration.”

Adencia took the bag of fruit she had collected and pulled out an apple like the one he had been munching on earlier. Ekko crooned excitedly and the elf gave him a piece. Ekko took it in his beak then flew to a tree to enjoy his little something. A bird who likes fruit . . . who would have thought.

Adencia took her cleaning knife from her belt and turned to the river’s shore to clean it and ready it to make dinner for them all.

((Hey guys! Um, I wrote a huge post in my other RP Seraphim, saying goodbye. I haven't been very active lately on account of well, life getting in the way. I need to leave Gaia for a little while, and that means leaving the RP. I love Aranai to bits though, so this kinda sucks... If someone wants to play her character, you're free to. I've really loved being involved in Teltayten, and I'm sad to go, but I must. Have fun and happy trails, I'll miss you guys! But I will be back, someday. =] See ya!))

Make sure all your posts are at least seven sentences long! We're starting to crack down on this.

You've been warned.

((Alrightee then, do what the man says. And once again we've regrettably come to another inescapable stop. Any reccomendations as to what we should do or shall we just call it a night and send everyone off to bed for the next morning?))

((I got my power cord much sooner than expected, yay! In any case sorry for the delay.))

Kayoe pivoted on his right foot, nimbly dodging the swing of the axe, he had about a split second where he could have made a counter attack but was briefly distracted by something.
He puts a lot of spirit into his swings, it is a shame that it doesn’t seem to amount to anything. He had missed his chance so he jumped back a few feet to get out of range of another attack.
It really wasn’t a surprise, since magic had become more main stream, the art of using Ki had slowly died out. Magic was used to supplement fighters rather, or you just swung your weapon around. Only the oldest schools of combat deep-rooted in tradition still taught it. While the Angona was one that was highly adaptable, it didn’t reject the old traditions that still had meaning. Kayoe could use it, but to those outside of the schools, it was just a myth, or completely forgotten.
“You are quite skilled, I can tell already, and you have a lot of spirit behind that axe of yours, if you want I can teach you how to harness it.”
((Kayoe’s swordsmanship skills are more like that of the anime style samurai then those of a real swordsman, ki is the excuse I have for him doing otherwise impossible stuff like felling that tree and one swing.
Below here is my option for finishing this and letting us move on, Hoidtoid, if you don't want it to end like this tell me and we can disreguard everthing below this...))
"Like so," As an example Kayoe drew his blade, he then swung it so that if he had been close enough to hit Thorn, he would hit with the blunt side.
Zera sighed "He never did know how to go easy on someone." While Kayoe's attack didn't look like it did anything, a wall of air raced towards Thorn, one that was powerful enough to knock his small body down, but not much else, but it would be obvious that had he swung harder, or used his blade, the result would have been worse.

The wall of air hit Thorn knocking him off his feet. The ground knocked the air out of Thorn who lay gasping and coughing for air. "How. Do. That? Teach. Me?" Thorn gasped in between coughs. Thorn stood there panting trying to catch his breath. "Can we stop and instead you teach me? I was never formaly trained my father was a craftsmen who taught me basic fighting techniques every thing else I tought myself fighting monsters and bandits." Thorn said after he caught his breath. "I would be greatly honored to learn every thing you can teach me."

((Hey, problem solved!))

Adencia continued making dinner for everyone having kindly put down Isarelle’s offers to help.

“You’ve done more than you share today, Isarelle.” Adencia said, “You do not have to worry about taking care of us all the time . . . we’re something of a group now. We each take part in watching after the other. We’ve got ourselves a little family.”

Isarelle smiled gently to herself at the notion. A family. That was something she truly wanted to have. Not that Garren wasn’t family enough, it’s just that with the way their curse is one can never see the other. Pushing herself to her feet, Isarelle watched Kayoe and Thorn for a moment.

When Thorn had requested that Kayoe teach him a few things Isarelle felt compelled to speak up.

“I fear that should be an activity for another day.” She said softly, “It’s getting late and dinner is ready. Plus, we all need some rest – we have a long journey in front of us and we all need to get the sleep while we can.”

Interest sharpened Tanyeera's gaze when she saw Kayoe's attack. Ki, was it? Hmm... she knew that one needed to hone and train one's spirit as well as one's body if one wanted to be a top fighter but this was the first time she'd witnessed an attack like that. Very, very interesting.

Just then, Isarelle called out dinner was ready. Tanyeera dutifully headed toward her even as she drifted towards Kayoe. "Please tell me... exactly what is ki and how did you use it like that? I have a notion I might know it, but under a different name. Will you please tell me?"

Isarelle returned to the warmth of the fire to fight off the chill the upcoming storm was bringing. She smiled softly as Adencia handed her some food and made portions for the others. Isarelle was now finding a new appreciation for the Elf – she found her to be one of the kindest people she met. This was interesting to her. Actually most of the people in her company interested her. One would have thought that over the years a person’s curse would turn their personality sour but these people were nicer than most commoners.

With a sigh Isarelle looked to the sky which was beginning to lightly cloud over bringing a haze to the moonlight. The girl looked out to the entrancing and unique atmosphere wanting time to just stop for a while so she could enjoy things as they were.

“Enjoying yourself, sister?” Garren said, smiling within.

“Yes, brother,” she replied in a whisper, “I am enjoying myself . . . for the first time in a long time.”

((Well in a nut shell we got to the River of Souls and crossed it and are camping on the other side. With character development filling up the time. Adencia mastered a new form, Kayoe and Thorn started dueling and Kayoe offered to teach Thorn acient fighting techniques and how to master Ki. I might have missed something but thats pretty much all thats happend. Oh and the person writing Aranai is gone and your the one that interacts with her most so if you want you can take over her if that is alright with every one else... so yeah thats pretty everything.))
