Emi stood there and watched the man place the silver coins on the table for the purchase of the book, as she watch the man leave, not replying to what he said she smiled and watched him leave.
Once he had left she sighed, and grabbed the three cakes and placed them in the spot where she normally stashes her food, she then walked back to the table and grabbed the coins and put them also where she keeps her money. Once that was done she looked out of the shop window at the rain, she then though about what the man said when he left and shook her head "peace...." speaking quietly to herself she turned around and walked upstaires to her room.
once she entered her room she walked over to her bed and sat down on the edge of it, staring at the small closet, her eyes were fixed on the closet as her hands started to shake. It was the only thing she could do now, stare at the closet...afraid to open it for the contents in it were her link to her past that she tried to erase from her mind....

Arishi The sea captain chortled faintly, attacking another piece of meat, and then whatever else he had on his plate. “I had a som’n of meself at one point, but I don’t think I can work up teh that again.” He replied. Certainly not. It had taken him more then a decade merely to make himself known on the seas, and he was growing old now. No point attempting the same here. “Wou’nt trade ‘er fer theh world.” He tilted the hat with his free hand, and once again made a feeble attempt to fix the bend in the fluffy purple feather. Mercy chuckled as she scooped up the last bits of her food. Had they been conversing so much that she hadn't notice that she was eating so quickly? She must have been hungrier then she first believed. With a rather embarrassed grin she laughed softly, "Well, we are creatures of habit and we do need something at the very least to cherish in some manner. Your hat and my whip are things that we hold dear for one memory or another."
She looked at her empty cup, had she drank it so quickly? She noticed the woman coming back to refill the cup. She just pushed the empty dish away and smiled at the woman as she filled the mugs again, "Thank you. It was delicious." She had to be polite in some manner even if the woman just turned and went away.
"I hope this was a good meal for you," Mercy took hold of the glass and sipped it savoring the flavor, "I find that this was more enjoyable then usually."

Annie was about to ask Hikari if she wanted to keep Yami over at the bakery for the night, since she seemed to be more than a little out of it, when a grunting noise from behind the counter made her pale slightly. Her boss was awake. Annie rose and left the circle around the fallen Chou sister - she felt like an intruder in the situation, in any event - and murmured an apology to the doctor. She quietly slipped beneath the counter and behind the door to the kitchen, trying not to meet anyone's eye.
Within the next few minutes, shouting could be heard from the other side of the door, first a man's voice, slurred with drink or drugs, then Annie's, loud and forceful. The arguing continued for a few more moments - and then a sound rather like wood hitting flesh, and a crack of bone - and another exclamation from Annie, but one of anger, not of pain - then silence.
Annie appeared on the other side of the door, grimly clutching a bloody hand to her nose. She disappeared behind the counter and produced a slightly damp cloth, which she placed on her face in lieu of her hand. She sat back down next to the group and said conversationally, "My boss says you can stay here until the storm lets up." She met Hikari's eyes unwaveringly. "If you want to."

Dr. Severin watched the Chou sisters converse with one another, he honestly had no idea what he should do in such a situation. He had never before dealt with memory loss from an uknown fainting spell, and didn't exactly feel like revealing his incompetence in the matter.
The arrival of the drunken boss gave him more time to think, and he barely noticed the noises in the background-so absorbed in his mind was he. When the smell of blood became noticeable from Esopha's nose wound, he glanced up and winced. In a quite inappropriate moment, his stomach growled angrily in hunger, and the Doctor paled, hoping no one noticed it.
"Perhaps it would be best to reutrn Yami to her home? Maybe something there could spark a memory," he said quietly, not entirely sure of himself, but trying nonetheless. "It would be good to leave now.. before the dark settles. I apologize for the troubles this has given you Annie.." Oddssen's words were truth, for he did feel sorry, but he was also very carefully avoiding annie's face, as he didn't want to see human blood. The smell alone reminded him that he hadn't eaten..

"You're the doctor." She said, matter-of-factly. She grimaced, then readjusted the cartilage of her nose with a slight crunching sound. "If you think it's a good idea, and if Hikari agrees, of course, I'll help you take her home." Annie didn't know how she would help, but it would be better than staying here with her boss in a temper. Pressing on the bridge of her nose, she slowed the flow of blood until it stopped completely, then removed the towel.
Annie had heard the doctor's stomach growl, and she barely prevented herself from rolling her eyes - the man said he wasn't hungry! Honestly, people who thought they were making the world a better place by suffering almost always caused other people to have problems. If not problems, major headaches. Not that she didn't have one already, with the bloody nose and all.

Ayira sighed as she shuffled papers around on her desk. She sat alone in her office stationed in the building across from her place, The Red Rat. She would spend frequent evenings over her figure out bills and supplies, that was when she was not entertaining customers. In all meaning and sense of the word she was a loner. People thought they knew her, but in reality they didn’t for Ayira didn’t even know herself so how could they possible know her.
Tossing a paper down in disgust she sighed, “How is a girl supposed to run a business in this town with all these ridicules taxes?” she said in frustration. That was it, she had reached her point for the night and was done dealing with bills, and she’ll leave the rest for tomorrow. As Ayira fixed the piles of papers on her desk her mind drifted back to the new resident in her normally solitary building, the Doctor. He was an interesting man to say the least.
As this thought filled her mind she smiled softly, blowing out the candle on the desk and leaving her now dark office. A good hostess would check in on their newest resident, right? Making her way down the hallway slowly, seeing as she wasn’t wearing shoes anymore, in fact she had changed her outfit completely. Instead of her dress and heels, she now donned a pair of rather tight leather pants and a blood red tunic top, with lace up v-neck long sleeves and all. To top it all off she let her silken brown hair down and free, showing it had slight waves to it, not full on curls as some may think, and she was barefoot.
Reaching his door, she pulled out her set of keys to let herself in, only to notice it was already open, “Good evening Doctor.” She said as she stepped into his room. At that moment she noticed he was in fact shirtless, and this simple detail made her heart race, and blush slightly…which she never did. “Oh sorry I didn’t mean to…” she started to say before stopping herself, and gazing up at him again. A smile playing on her lips she took another step inside, her eyes roaming over him. “But since your already half way…” she whispered, playing with him again. Moving closers and closer to him she laughing softly under her breath. As she reached him she placed her finger under his chin and pulled it up to her, “It would be a shame and a waste not to take advantage of this situation.” she purred. With that said she moved in to kiss him on the lips, wondering if the Good Doctor would let her.

Hikari had heard the grunt, had watched Annie leave. And when the screaming had started that unnerving guilty feeling had sunk into the pit of her stomach as she returned her eyes back to her sister. She had heard the growling of the doctors stomach, and couldnt bear to look up at the girl as she spoke.
She had gulped down the lump in her throat until she heard the doctor speak. Her eyes looked up, glistening with unshed tears. She didnt want to see Annies injury, feeling guilty enough as it was.
"I...I think...you may be right..." She spoke in such a soft whisper she wasnt sure it had left her mind. "...Annie...Im so sorry...."

"Well, it's settled then," The Doctor said, slowly and carefully standing to his full height of six feet and seven inches, he was a large-if miserable looking-man. He kept his eyes focussed pointedly on the ground, and made sure not to make eye contact with anyone. "We shall bring Miss Yami home, as with her sister Hikari.. I must be off to my own home, myself.. It is not safe to travel in the dark."
Severin glanced up at Hikari questionatively, seeing if she would trust him enough to help her home. He didn't think that she would like him knowing where she lived, even though he swore to never harm her.

Nekura had finished drying himself off as much as he could without stripping off all of his clothing. He was planning to do that eventually and hang up his clothes so they'd dry out. Then he heard his door open and Ayira speak. He looked over to her and noticed she was blushing.
Then she leaned in to kiss him after guiding his face up to her. Thier lips brushed just barely before he shifted quickly and placed the kiss upon her cheek, "You look lovely with a natural blush across your face and your hair down Ayira. How is the leg?" He asked her. His tone was low, and a bit sensual.

Hikari moved to her feet as well before glancing up at Severin, only to quickly avert her attention to the ground. Meekly she nodded her head before offering her hand for her sister to take. Severin still scared her, but he had helped them. And if he only walked them half way? Wouldnt it be fine?
"...t-thank you..."

As their lips brushed softly against each other’s her heart seemed to skip a beat, what was it about this man? However he quickly shifted so he ended up kissing her check. Inwardly sighing she smiled at him as he complimented her, “Thank you love, but if you tell anyone I blush I might have to borrow one of you medical tools, to use on you.” she said half joking half serious, after all she had a reputation to think of.
“Its better love thanks for asking.” she said as she sat down on the edge of his bed. “You don’t mind if I sit do you Doctor?” she asked as she moved closer to him on his bed. She wasn’t about to give up yet.

"Ah, it's fine, the old drunk has to beat on someone, and better it be me than Yami, or you, or the doctor." She swung up to her feet, clutching her cane with one hand, and tossed the rag down. She was going with them, after all. Yami was completely off in her own little world, and Annie didn't think much of Hikari's street smarts. "And don't worry about their well-being, doctor. They'll be fine with me around." Annie bit her tongue at the near-lie, after all, who wouldn't jump at the chance to rob a cripple? But she didn't want to stay here, and maybe the apple was still lying around...

Dr. Severin smiled slightly, happy that Hikari trusted him enough to let him help her and her sister home. He glanced quickly over to annie, long enough to catch her eye before returning his own gaze awkwardly to the ground. "I assure you, Miss Annie, no offense is meant, but it may be best if you stayed home. Unless your leg does not pain you.. I just wouldn't advise walking out in such a rain then having to walk home alone."
Inhaling a breath he lifted a sleeve to go the gashes, scratches, and bites on his arm. Hoping the lie would work and convince Annie to stay home, so she would be safe, he spoke up a little louder, "On my own way home, during daylight, I was attacked. Wyander is a dangerous place, as you know, I just think it might be best if you were to stay home, for you own safety.."

Nekura shook his head slightly, "No...but be afraid, be very afraid, you might accidently blush around me in public..." he teases her. He then motioned that she was welcome to sit and as soon as she had scooted closer, he wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
"So figure out why you suddenly used the word Love earlier when I had never said anything about it?" he asked her teasing lightly.

Annie blinked at the man, then gaped at the scratches on his arm. Well. Well. She shook her head, lips pursed in a frown...but she was in no mood to argue. "I'd best make up pretty with the boss, then." She said, sighing. "Ah...Hikari..." She looked down, carefully avoiding the other girl's eyes. "Should you need anything..." She finished by lamely waving her hands about, hoping that Hikari would get the picture. "And...ah...good night."
