She brought the pillows down on him once more each before he could tell her to look at herself. The cool, slight breeze at her legs made her look down, and she saw the blanket. She also noticed that her robe had opened a little. She scooted backwards, immediately closing it and in doing so finally noticed that the silk material of the nightgown she wore underneath had curled up. Was it because she'd been over his legs and the skirt was made to be more form-conforming for the winter? As she straightened, still on her knees and with her hands keeping her robe closed around herself, she looked at him. It suddenly made sense to her. The pure fear he was regarding her with and his pleas hadn't been born out of nothing. She parted her lips, the words just on the tip of her tongue as she stared back at him in with a different sort of horror in her eyes. "You... touched me..? Without my permission... and...?"

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. She could scarcely believe it. What she'd felt she now realized had been too large to be an insect. If a rat had gotten that far up her leg, she would've felt paws. His admission was sobering her up quickly but she still felt sick. Her emotions were a mess. She squinted at him slightly, more words sitting at the edge of her mind as she tried to think. Wanting justice for yet another boundary he'd leaped over without seeking approval was conflicting with her desire to not see or know that he was in horrible pain. He deserved it, and more. He deserved to die for touching her thigh and stealing her lips again so passionately. But that was only to distract her? New little ideas and desires which had been forming in the back of her mind were snuffed out. Such as wanting to take care of him before she left by having him fetch water, new dressings for his wounds and medicine, linen wrapping for the purpose of... giving him some of her precious, painstakingly made poisons to use for defense. Concern over whether or not he were truly all right after being deeply betrayed by those he trusted was suppressed by her outrage at what he'd done.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.It didn't matter to her that he hadn't intended to. He'd done it, and then what he'd done after could only have been to distract her. That wounded her on another level. So, why she was staring down at him in horror, eyes squinting and lips parting every second or so as she tried to think. She started to cry, torso shaking once or twice before she held back sobs. The different occasions when he'd saved her life passed through her mind, as well as how she would want to seek her revenge against him. But she didn't want to hurt him. To some extent, perhaps as much as she could bear to, she realized that she trusted him. Or had. She didn't know, her mind was swimming from the large amount of wine she'd consumed. She couldn't focus on one thing at a time. She shuffled backwards more, tightly holding shut her robe as she struggled to stand up. She leaned against the edge of his bed with one hand, while the other kept her robe shut. Then turned and unsteadily headed for the door. She wasn't fully aware that she'd left her candle behind, or that it was darker in the hallway and she might need it. But even so, probably wouldn't have stayed to get it first.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. She grabbed hold of the door knob as she passed through the door, swinging it shut behind her. She didn't know if it had a lock or not and didn't stop to check. She felt along the wall with one hand so she could find her way in the darkness. Why did they construct this building to have so few windows, and the few they had were often too small to be useful? Why had she just left without punishing him? Why didn't she want to? She didn't understand how this all had managed to move her to tears. What was wrong with her brain? Where was her room again? Should she return now? She had no idea what she looked like right now. What if someone was awake, saw her, and asked questions? She kept going until she found one of the rooms in his section of the castle which she knew wasn't being used. She slipped inside and shut the door behind her. She leaned against the wall, sinking to the floor and cupping her forehead in one hand. She couldn't focus. Her thoughts were all swimming around in her head. For more reasons than just the drink, she was feeling sick to her stomach. And why on earth couldn't she stop crying?

Kenneth kept his arms up, shaking as he felt her hit him even more as she realized he had touched her thigh. "It was an accident, you fell on me a-and..." He tried to stand and go after her, his back stretching and giving out on him so he fell on his face. He gasped at the pain, unable to reach behind to check if he had opened some of the unhealed wounds left. He wanted to go after her, make sure she got to her room safe, but as he struggled to get back on the bed, he realized he just couldn't nor could he tell the guard if he returned to look for her. He laid there on his stomach, reaching over to the nightstand and wincing as it stretched at his stitches again while he pulled the candle holder closer to blow it out. He would deal with the pain, at least until he could get up again. The guard returned minutes later and knocked gently before opening to let Rubert back in. He could hear it in the silent air, heavy breathing instead of snoring so clearly the Lord was still awake? "My Lord, are you alright? Is your wounds bothering you, should I fetch the doctor?" He asked, opening the door and not noticing the candlestick holder that was pushed away by the door. "Y-Yeah, I fell in the dark and think I ripped something, maybe I just need some rest..." He used his arms as a pillow, the other three on the ground. "Well, I'll be sure to get him to see you in the morning, I'll come by every hour to check on you." He left, a little reassured that the young man would be alright until morning at least.

He licked his chops, sighed and began to fall asleep. It wasn't until about ten minutes later that he shot up and began to growl at the window. The lock was pushed up. Outside, a very large, furry white creature was standing and staring into the room. Its eyes were darkened by folds of fluff and snow around its face. There was also a little pinkish goo frozen to the top of its head that was partially visible. The window unlocked, the glass was parted. The thing entered the room and walked over to Ken's bedside. Rubert barked aggressively, putting himself between Ken and the creature. The creature wasn't put off by this at all. In fact, it grabbed hold of the dog by the neck and forced the poor pup onto his side. Rubert chomped down on the thing's arm to no avail and began to panic as he tasted something weird in his mouth.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The dog's whining cries remained as the man-sized yeti turned towards Kenneth. In the dim light provided by the moon outside, it was nearly impossible to see the thing's face. It would appear a big, fluffy blur. Just like with poor Rubert, the thing wrapped it's human-like hand around the back of Ken's neck and pressed down to hold him still. A little glimmer of light reflected off of glass briefly as a tiny vial of something was lowered to Ken's mouth. A foul-tasting and thick fluid was forced into his mouth. It would numb his mouth quickly, and the thing covered his nose and mouth until he was forced to swallow. Then it turned and left the way it came. The poison would temporarily paralyze Ken and make him drowsy before knocking him out. He'd awake with a fever and a stomach ache. But, despite the symptoms, within a day's time he would be back to normal.

She fell asleep once, waking up forty minutes later. Then decided it was finally time that she needed to return. The servants would be waking soon, she didn't want to risk encountering any of them. She stiff-legged, she made her way to her room and sat down in front of a mirror. Her eyes were bloodshot and glassy. Eyelids puffy and there were shadows under her eyes. Her hair was a mess and she looked to be abnormally pale. She stared at her reflection for a moment, surprised but more than anything she was angry. How had a little man like Kenneth been able to drive her to this point? Due to the mourning period, she could not hide these unfortunate signs underneath the layers of makeup she usually wore. She sighed and began to comb her hair so that at least it would not be messy enough to cause suspicion. If only she'd allowed them the time to braid it last night. But she'd been impatient, and wanted to be alone.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.As she was doing this, the lock to her window slipped upwards until it was unlocked. The window was opened and she merely glanced at it until she was satisfied that she knew who was responsible.
"Reveal yourself." The yeti-like creature shut the window behind itself after entering the room. Then walked over to her, raising a hand to pull away several layers of cloth from its head. Sweaty waves of ebony hair were loosed first, before the sickly pale face of one of her spies was revealed. He was about as tall as Astrid, but far broader in the shoulder as well as being more muscular. He knelt on one knee, bowing his head. He was fairly young, being close to her age though even to her his age was unknown. When she'd been made Queen he'd been assigned to serve her. He had served her father, and as far as she knew he was one spy of which her Uncle Erwin knew of. She personally didn't like this man. He was too carefree, even if he was one of the best spies to serve the royal family in generations. "Pray tell what is so urgent that you must disturb me at such an hour?" She demanded, waiting impatiently for a response.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."Highness, I've come to report that I've taken care of your attacker. Fear not, he will not die. I daren't kill without permission, after all." He said with a smirk, looking up at her and rising to his feet. He removed his coat and held it out, showing the area of the hood where her vomit had ended up. "You could work on your aim, Highness. It will take a long time to get this cleaned."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."If you're worth the trouble, you will have already prepared a spare." Astrid said, though her cheeks were a little flushed due to the embarrassment she felt. She was upset with herself for doing something so undignified. It wasn't becoming of a woman of her status. "What have you done now, Daedra?" She asked, a growing sense of dread hardening her stomach.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."Oh, a little this. Little that. You know me, I get a little excited and just. can't. help. myself." He said playfully in a sing-song voice, winking as he held up a vial with green fluid in it. She stared at it briefly, recognizing it to be poison. He was being irritatingly vague, but even as groggy as she still felt she could surmise what he'd done. She received a report from him in regards to the safety of the building, the weather and the going's on in general. They were still cut off from the main castle. Largely, they were cut off from the rest of Criaswen thanks to this storm. She dismissed him, her yeti-spy disappearing the way he came. Then finished combing her hair before she tried to get some sleep. She'd have to send word to Ailean that she wouldn't be attending the morning's meal. She would not allow either of them to see the state she was in, nor any of the servants.

Ken was asleep, the pain stilled as long as he didn't move too much, a hand on Rubert's fur to keep warm while he was unable to move under the blankets he had. It wasn't until Rubert began to bark that he woke up and tried to sit up, only managing to see Rubert get pinned down. "W-Who are you?!" He turned his head to face the intruder, unable to see features and becoming pained again as the much larger yeti-like creature pinned him down by the back of the neck. He tried to struggle, the liquid being forced into his mouth and nearly suffocated before he swallowed the liquid and slowly realized he was becoming unable to move his body. His head flopped down into the bed sheets, his mouth numb and his tongue refused to work. He felt his eyelids get heavy and passed out.

He awoke a few hours later, right before he would have to go to breakfast. His body was sore, being stuck in one position as he managed to flip over and let out a surprise cry of pain when his back touched the cold sheets. So cold...he felt hot as well and didn't remember what had happened except a large white figure had entered his room. He looked to Rubert who was still sleeping, was it a dream? Rubert would of protected him if anyone had entered. A guard peeked in, the one from last night. "You 'lright, My Lord? Back still hurting?" When Ken nodded, he went and fetched the doctor to get the young man's wounds checked and to see about that light blush on his cheeks. The doctor came quickly when hearing about a possible fever, the boy couldn't have gotten any infections, the doctor was thorough in his treatment! He helped Ken to sit up, a few seemed bruised and torn, but why the sudden fever?

Everyone except Ailean would be late to breakfast, the doctor coming in and nodding to the older Catanoch. "Yer son fell last night according to a guard, wounds are fine still, but he seems to have caught a fever and stomach ache, states a giant white creature came in and held him down. I'm suspecting the fever given him some hallucinations so let him rest for awhile till it go down eh?" He smiled, picking up some toast meant for Ken, but he already knew the boy wouldn't be able to digest for a day or so.

She ordered her maids and the other servants to stay out of her room. Her head pounded horribly and she felt like she might die. Of course, she had never quite gotten so drunk as she had last night. Then again, at home she had her work and books. Whenever frustrated to that point, focusing on either reading or working was what helped her work through her frustrations. She'd been criticized for this before, by a few of her siblings. Mainly Arric and Victoria. But was not concerned about that at all. Even with her orders for the rest of the household to leave her alone, one of her maids poked their heads in. "Your Highness? You have a visitor. Well, actually a few but they all agreed to leave if you'd listen to just one of them." Astrid cursed her rotten luck and sat up in bed. She pulled the blankets high, though she was already dressed for the day.

"They have one minute. Time them with the hour glass." With that said, Maud hurried in with a guard. Astrid winced, the clanking of the man's armor hurt her ears. The guard appeared to be nervous and she didn't recall having seen him before. Then again, this was her first time visiting Blackwolf Hall. "Y-your Highness, good morning. I-it's an honor! Um.." She watched the man squirm impatiently and by his side, her maid pointed out the ever-trickling sand letting him know he hadn't much time. "I-I'm here about Lord Ken--to represent, uh, everybody. You see, he's not feelin' too well. He's been a wreck, Highness, honest. He'll likely be sick in bed all day. A-anyway, we were wonderin' if you think you could find a little time today to visit him. I-I mean, he's always talked about you like he's... uh..." His time was stopped as the maid held the hour glass up again. She watched him bow his head respectfully before leaving the room with her maid. She glared at the doorway.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Will he never leave me be? She thought angrily to herself. Just as it was while under her ownership, it seemed every person here had become his ally in some way. To have bothered her for such a reason... She regretted having already visited him. If she'd gone escorted, those... exchanges, would never have happened. She sighed through her nostrils, calling her maid back in and ordering for a glass of juice to be brought to her room. As it was delivered to her, she pretended to be interested in it. Then, as she touched the glass, she decided to pretend to get the idea to give the juice to him instead. She put a little poison inside, telling her maid that it was medicine to help his stomach. In truth, it was a mixture which would make his digestive system feel like it was made of stone and his taste buds would be damaged. For two weeks everything would taste like nothing to him. Little did she know that as it was being transported, the same guard encountered her maid. He happily offered to take it to Ken in her place, so that he could tell the man that it was a gift from Queen Astrid. He'd only tell the man after he'd taken a drink from that glass though, thinking he was being clever.

He frowned solemnly, putting down his own drink as he looked at the doctor. "A fever? He's a stubborn boy sometimes. I expect he wasn't taking care of himself properly.. Thank you for tending to him so early, Doctor." After that, he stood up and eventually made his way to Ken's bedroom as soon as his body could catch up with him. He arrived just as a guard was shuffling out of the room, looking embarrassed. He hobbled through the doorway and sat down by Ken's bedside. "Ken, m'boy. The doctor tells me you've a fever. What happened? Anything you tell me I won't repeat. Speak freely." As he finished speaking, poor Rubert started to dry heave. The dog gagged, bits and pieces of his breakfast spewing from his mouth. He held his head low and for once, his tail was down. He stayed with his chin off of the bed, looking like he might puke again. Ailean raised a brow, looking from the vomit to the nearly grown pup. "Food poisoning, perhaps? Did you share a meal with Rubert?"

Ken couldn't find a comfortable spot, his blankets too warm, his stomach didn't wish to be laid down on without the threat of spilling whatever had made him sick. He laid on his side, pressing the cold washcloth given to him by the doctor to his forehead. He watched the guard walk in, the man was so young and nervous. He took the glass of juice and slowly drank it, nearly finishing it when the guard spoke of it coming from Astrid. He coughed, the juice going down the wrong pipe for a second as he regained his rough breathing. "Thank you..." He sighed as the guard looked rather embarrassed at how Ken had reacted to it being from Astrid. He laid back down, petting Rubert gently before the poor dog began to dry heave. "Mmm...Astrid visited me last night, but she didn't do anything like poison me when she left, I did share my dinner with him..." He rubbed at Rubert's back, trying to soothe the poor pup. He had a bucket beside his bed, too bad Rubert couldn't aim, and thankfully Ken hadn't barfed yet since it felt like his stomach was twisting itself into a knot as he curled up and hugged Rubert since the dog was nice and cold with it's fur.

His heart sank in his chest and he looked at the unfortunate young man. Red in the face, obviously uncomfortable and feeling ill and even the closest one to him was sick. He hadn't thought that she could be so cruel. "I see, we all ate from the same pot. I haven't felt ill at all, though Little Astrid has yet to leave her room today. Perhaps this time it was something else. Still, it's not good news that she visited you. I had hoped that you two were getting along, but it's clear that isn't the case." He sighed as Rubert vomited again and rubbed the dog's forehead with his thumbs. His son was like a practice dummy when it came to that twisted young woman. Arm and legs wide open, always vulnerable for whatever harm she wanted to deal. "You were recovering so well. Finally didn't have to worry about you having another accident but it seems whenever she's around you end up hurt. I don't approve of this. I'd like it if you didn't let yourself be alone with the Queen, fact it'd be best if you avoided her altogether."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. There was a pitcher of cool water and a fresh glass by his bedside. Ailean noted the second glass, which looked used. He held the glass of water out towards Ken. "Can you drink, son? What do you need to be more comfortable?" He asked, genuinely unsure how to help Ken at least sleep comfortably at this point. With his back injured and painful, and now the fever and stomach ache it he worried that the poor kid wouldn't get any rest today. By Ken's side, Rubert settled down on his side next to Ken. He shoved his cold, wet nose against his master's neck and inhaled before sneezing on him. The pup closed his eyes submissively, whining a little and putting a paw on Ken's shoulder.

Ken shook his head, feeling dizzy from that so he set his head back down. "I-I don't think it was her this time, she was too drunk to do much other than complain. He hugged Rubert after the poor dog puked again."I don't think I could get comfortable until this stomach ache goes away. I'm sorry..." He tried to drink the water, feeling the minute dinner came back to haunt him, at least getting it in the bucket. He heaved within seconds after the first one, feeling his back tense to say 'don't move anymore'. "I-I can't taste anything...I-It has to be poison..." He mumbled, getting sneezed at by Rubert and moving his face to rub against Rubert's. He looked terrible, red faced, curled up on his side and looking like he was also cold. He didn't get it, why did he have to antagonize the queen last night about her poisons and be so immoral by touching her leg and kissing her all the time?

He leaned back in his chair with a gruff sigh and set the glass of cool water down on the nightstand. "She was drunk? She came to see you alone? The doctor mentioned that your back's worse. Your old slave master comes to visit and the wounds on you somehow have new bruises, you tore several stitches and now you're sick. That's all too much of a coincidence. You've been good about letting your body heal until now. I'm sorry, Ken. I won't force you but I'd worry less if you would avoid being alone, especially with Astrid. I'll call in Yitta soon to get you cleaned up." He glanced at Rubert, who had since closed his eyes and was resting peacefully all cuddled up with Ken. He chuckled, then something else occurred to him. "Yitta can read. Is there anything you want to hear? Should I call Inga? She can play the lute and sing. Anything we could do to help you pass the time faster." He also considered asking the doctor for something to help Ken sleep through the pain. The poor boy could hardly move without wincing. It reminded him of the condition Ken had been in when he'd first come home.

Ken tried to slow his breathing, burying his face into the fur of Rubert to hear the poor dog's labored breathing. "I-I'll try...I wouldn't mind if Yitta could read for while, as long as she doesn't trip and fall on me again." He smiled softly, scratching behind Rubert's ear to help the poor pup. "I-I'll be better soon, don't worry too much Ailean, you have enough wrinkles." He wanted to sleep, but afraid that he might turn wrong and hurt his back. "I don't think I can hold anything down right now, maybe later I'll try some beer to sleep." He admitted, sliding the washcloth away as it was warmed up by his fever.

It's also my right as a parent to worry about you. I'm not planning on entering any beauty contests, you know." He chuckled, before taking the warm cloth that Ken had discarded and shifting to his feet. He let out a gruff breath, grunting as he straightened his legs. His knee popped and crunched as he moved, like it always did. He stayed standing for a while to let more blood pump through to his legs. "I'll have Yitta brought here. She's been worried about you too, you know. Head Maid told me she kept her up half the night, asking to go to you. She kept Yitta in her room though, saying you needed rest. She'll be glad to finally have an excuse to check on you for herself." He joked, taking a decorative washing basin from a nearby bit of furniture and carrying it over to the window. He opened it slightly and used the bowl to scoop up some of the icy cold snow that was just outside.

He joked, chuckling to himself as he hobbled off to the door. He told a servant to go and fetch Yitta, also making sure she knew to bring a few books with her. Then waved to Ken before leaving the room. He headed for the room Astrid was staying in, meaning to have a talk with her about Ken.

Yitta rushed to grab a few books from the library, nervous about which ones he'd like to hear but also not wanting to take too long to get to him. She'd heard how poorly he was doing and was so worried that he was in agony right now with nothing to distract him. She hurried through the halls, nearly crashing into people and various decorations as she moved. She stopped as she reached Ken's door. Well, she actually crashed into it head-first. She scrambled to pick up the things she'd dropped, checking her nose for blood before she hastily went inside. She closed the door behind, then finally looked over at her master. She nearly cried just at the sight of him. "M-Master? A-are you...?" She was too afraid to finish her question just in case he really was as lifeless as he looked. She was surprised by the sight of vomit and since Inga was busy cleaning it up, was glad that she didn't have to.

Just as Ailean had before, she took the cloth on his forehead and replenished it to help him stay cool. Then used another, completely dry, cloth to dap away at his sweat, books in one hand. She'd brought a few books with her. One was a collection of ghost stories, another was a well-known book of military conquest, another was a collection of battle stories and the last was a tragic romance novel named 'I Want to Be Your Canary'. It was fairly popular among the nobility and other high ranking peoples in Criaswen right now. The story featured a noble woman who is in love with the son of her father's enemy, who happened to be a peasant.

Ken chuckled, the man did not need to enter any beauty contests at his age. "I haven't heard her read before, it's rare to see anyone who was a slave be able to read, I wonder..." He trailed off, thinking to himself about who Yitta might of been before she was a slave. The cold washcloth felt so nice against his hot skin, wondering if it would feel better on his back to numb the pain. "She is pretty, but no, I think one of us being clumsy is enough." He joked, beginning to puke once Ailean left, he stopped every couple of minutes before Inga showed up to help clean up Rubert's bile on the floor. "C-Can you put some coldness on my back...?" His fever didn't seem to be letting up right away, but hopefully it would if he could stop the pain in his back. He fell asleep, looking pale except for the red cheeks he had from the fever, the washcloth became warm once Yitta arrived and he woke when she changed it to a much colder one. "I-I'm fine..." He mumbled, looking like he was going to vomit any second and watch Inga get the bucket close to prevent any on the floor again. "A-Are you going to read, Yitta?" He asked, rather happy she was so calm right now but then again, he was dozing off unless he had to puke. He had nothing left in his stomach yet it still turned in knots and he felt like if he didn't go to the bathroom soon, he would experience a bad embarrassment in front of the women. Then again, he didn't think he could go to the bathroom, like it wouldn't be worth it with how constipated he felt.

She said, eyes brimming with tears. She barely noticed Inga walking up to the other side of the bed and sitting down. Until the other woman spoke. "Well, you brought books right? Let's get to it!" Yitta jumped a little, embarrassed that she'd already forgotten. As she tried to show Ken the books she had with her she remembered what she'd done last night before dinner. He'd seen her but hadn't said anything, probably because he was feeling so bad right now. Oh, she hoped he would forget and never bring it up. It was bad enough that he'd caught her peeping on him on so many different occasions. She started to read the titles before Inga told her to read the romance one. She looked at Ken, drying away more of his sweat. "Is that okay with you, Master?"User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Everyone felt so much colder than he did, even as he nodded for her to read whatever she wanted, he fell asleep a few pages in. He went through the whole bucket of snow before it seemed like his fever was calming down, his back still hurt and his stomach, but at least he could sleep without over heating for awhile. Rubert was his pillow for awhile, hugging the dog with one arm before a clackering of stuff woke him up. He blinked a bit, lifting his head to see what fell and saw Yitta had snow everywhere and the bucket was also on the ground. He smiled and chuckled, Inga must of left sometime ago as he tried to sit up slowly. His back was stiff and sore, some spots hurt a lot still as he tried to sit up and lean against his pillows. "You alright, Yitta...?" He asked, yawning and scratching behind Rubert's ear gently. "What time is it..?" He asked, wondering if he still had time to go back to sleep .

"I-it's two in the afternoon, sir." She didn't know what to do with the clumps of snow in her apron, so she went over to the fireplace and dumped them in there. The fire immediately dimmed and she felt a little panicked. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to--to do that!" She hastily put another log in the fire, hoping it would begin to burn brightly again to keep his room warm. Her master was sick and here she was endangering his life. There were also the pieces of ceramic bowl all over the floor. It was dangerous to leave them there. What if he hurt himself? Even if the idea of nursing him back to health and... dressing his body injuries really appealed to her. She didn't want him to be hurt.

Then dumped a bunch of bark and oil in there. This made the fire crackle and pop. Little sparks were suddenly spitting out from it, even landing on her wet apron. If not for his floor being made of stone she could've caused his room to catch fire! She hesitatingly patted out the sparks, gasping in pain but determined to protect Ken. Her chaotic attempt to fix her mistakes was interrupted as someone knocked on the door. A guard peeked in and then opened the doors. Yitta looked up, paling as she saw the Queen entering with two guards in tow. She jumped in her skin, heart beating wildly as her eyes met with the Queen's. She was so cold and sharp, with eyes like a hawks. But why were they bloodshot? Yitta flinched and looked away, very quick to curtsey in an attempt to keep from offending their fearsome ruler.

"Leave us."

She asked him, clearly unsure about leaving him alone with the woman who'd nearly killed him. But she was also afraid, especially after witnessing the speed with which Queen Astrid had punished poor Ken yesterday. What if she knew that Yitta had caused the dog to unbalance her, and as revenge for that attack on Ken? She furtively looked from him to the floor, very uncomfortable with the idea of leaving him right now. Though, even if she stayed she knew she couldn't stop the other woman from doing anything she wanted to him.
