Another child. And another bigger one. Maku took the hits in very ill temper, shaking them off of him with great rustling of his mighty foliage. He struggled to his 'feet', creaking and groaning and leaking all the while, trailing sap with every movement and step.

Sephos found him like that. He ran up to him and gave the beast a hug, not particularly caring that his arms could barely fit or that other trolls could see him or that he was getting green sap all over his clothing. "S-stop it." he said, holding on even as Maku gently tried to dislodge him. "You're getting hurt stop it..."

This was, the tree told him, for his own good... But... The tree beast shivered as he forced himself to attend to his child instead of pursuing the robotic agent of destruction. He could, he aquiesced, make sure Sephos returned to his room safely.

Sephos didn't answer. He didn't know what he was supposed to be doing now.

While she was sore all over and felt nothing but pain and slight anger, the tealblood couldn't stop-- not yet, even with being hit so hard she was stumbling. The tealblood adjusted her gloves before gearing up to try again, stretching each finger before leaping again at the buggy, managing to grab it hard enough to be dragged by it. She was essentially getting beat up, but Forera could definitely take a beating. If anyone could take a beating, she could. She was sure.

She was totally ready to take a mini break and kick some BUTT!

"It's out of control!" Cerpin yelped as the Trundlebuggy continued to sweep around the area at high speed. It was scary to watch as it knocked basically everything out of its path, materials, trolls and machinery alike. How freaking heavy and strong was that damn thing? Better not to find out maybe. He whistled to Blossmom to try and drop a cable around it to lasso it into submission but the lusus was unable to keep up with its pace with all the obstacles around. Huffing, Cerpin looked to Tevini.

"At this rate, it's going to break something important and knock something dangerous down. Got any ideas to reinforce some of the structures?" There wasn't much two children could do against the moving monster machine but maybe they could protect Chittentown's hard work so that Civisect didn't pull ahead due to this crisis!

"I'm trying!" Tevini yelped as the buggy continued to crash around the area. It was really hard to think when she was trying to dodge. Uncoordinated, she had to try harder than athletic trolls to react. She wished she had better reflexes. After this she was going to need to ask for help training to become faster. Tevini wanted to be stronger too but didn't think she'd ever be able to handle fighting other strong trolls. It wasn't pacifism or a lack of survival instincts, just that she knew her limits. If she wanted to build a way of space travel without any educational help or mentors... going the self taught route would take a substantial amount of time she didn't have for higher level combat training.

"Oof!" Rolling to the side, Tevini crashed into a pile of boxes. Scuttle rolled after her to try and protect her while she got back up. Pushing up off the ground, the girl rubbed her side and crawled on top of her lusus. Hiding inside him would prevent her from watching for any tools they could try to use but maybe she'd be better off letting him control their movement.

It was scary trying to take on a moving trundlebuggy but Cerpin wasn't about to let it steamroll over them. They'd come too far in this to let a runaway trolley best them. He moved to run at it but it jerked unexpectedly and knocked him backwards. The boy swore and twisted his body to land without harming any vital parts when he bounced off the ground. Training with Keionx had taught him how to brace for impacts.

"It's going so fast- I can't hit it without getting hurt! Should we try to break the wheels?" The highblood looked to his partner for guidance. She was the engineer here, he only had a basic understanding of such things.

If you rolled a 1, you dive for the trundlebuggy, trying to leap aboard. Your hands scrabble as you're tossed from it's casing and you end up underneath it, as it bounces over top of you. The bumping from having to bounce over your twitching carapace knocks a box of nuts and bolts free, scattering them over your prone form as it skids out of your sight.

"I'll see what I can do." She didn't like seeing Cerpin get knocked around like that. Steeling her resolve, Tevini watched the path of the trundlebuggy and braced herself. She didn't believe she had good enough aim to hit the moving object's wheels so she'd have to try and board it and then reach down. Scuttle wouldn't like this plan but it wasn't like he could get close to it. As she waited, an opportunity appeared and the redblood jumped! Unfortunately for her uncoordinated body, the girl didn't quite land on top but instead was now grabbing a hold of the edge. She shrieked in panic as her weak fingers slipped off and the vehicle was rolling over her. Crying out in pain, her only solace was that it seemed to slow the thing down a little.

Then the bolts rained down on her and she was miserable again.

"Yo, what the hell are you doing?!" Cerpin watched in alarm as Tevini dove at the buggy and fell underneath it. Adrenaline pumped through him and he ran after her, hoping she hadn't been crushed to dead under its weight. A shower of nuts and bolts littered around her but she seemed alive and conscious. Pulling her to her feet, the purpleblood glared at her.

"That was too reckless. You know better than that." Grumpy fingers flicked her forehead but there was more concern in his eyes than anger. He was supposed to be the brave idiot sacrificing himself. She was too smart and valuable to charge to the front like that. It was his duty to keep her safe. It was hers to come up with the plan.

"Stay there. I'm gonna jam the wheels to slow it down." Grabbing a metal pipe from a pile of construction materials, the boy dashed at the trundlebuggy on its next ride through. His aim was good but he used too much force and ended up bouncing off the machine painfully fast. His arm smashed into the wall next to Tevini and he grunted in pain.

"I think we've done what we can." They'd spent too much time on this. "We still need to do what we came here for." They needed to get back to the research computers to hack their records in the database. If they went now, maybe they'd slip through unnoticed with the chaos going on.

If you rolled a 3, you see the buggy coming down the corridor you are in, and hastily knock the nearest thing down into it's path to try and slow it down. Unfortunately, the nearest thing is another troll, who, after they get back up, spends a few minutes slapping you dizzy.Take 2 dmg, and 1 damage each roll after until a support power is used on you.

"But I-" She just wanted to be useful! They'd spent a lot of time mad at each other and only just recently gotten back to okay terms. Tevini felt determined more than ever to prove to Cerpin that it'd been the right choice not to kick her out on the curb. Obediently she kept back and let him try to jam the wheels but winced when he came flying back.

"Yes, let's go!" The redblood was relieved when Cerpin decided they should ditch. She didn't think they'd be able to take out the trundlebuggy so retreat was their best option. Plus, as he'd said, they hadn't come here to do battle with anyone. They just wanted to alter their files in the record and then get out. Grabbing his hand, she ran with the boy, trying to out run the crashing sounds behind them. Tevini hadn't known what to expect coming here but it certainly wasn't a giant buggy spinning out of control! She yearned to look at more of the research efforts happening, the ascension into space... but they had no time. All she could take with her was her partner back to safety.

It was a reckless idea, and hadn't, uh, particularly worked before, but Poe thought that when they were so close like this, he had to try! He ran headfirst into the trundlebuggy, ready to stop it with his body. Another troll, a flash of yellow, came out of nowhere. Poe tries to stop, but his body collides and collapses into a pile. He seemed to be spending a lot of time in piles trying to stop this machine. Lanata checked on him to make sure he didn't hurt his head. "Uh, are you okay...?" he asked the troll he crashed into.

Nictor is attacking the Runaway Trundlebuggy!

If this had jsut been a wild ride on Beehemoth, then the trip would have been exciting and fun. However, the black smoke clouded Nictor's vision and lungs kind of took away from the thrill of it. That, and instead of a sturdy giant lusus supporting him, he was dangling from a stray wire that was still sparking at the end, being dragged along and tossed around just about the ground as the trundlebuggy spun out of control on its last legs of life. Bee was somewhere on the other side of the buggy, tangled in wires too and thumping off the ground every so often, having slipped from his perch on top of the cart.

Nictor found himsef winded when he slammed to the ground, something laying across him. He coughed a few times, gasping to regain his breath as he lay there, feeling more than a little dazed. Nictor groaned a little and pushed at what was on top of him, expecting a chunk of metal or a beam that had been knocked over, but was instead met with something curly and soft.

Nictor blinked his eyes open and looked down, yelping when he realized it was a troll, not materials that had struck him. Scambling clumsily out from under the other troll, Nictor knocked his head against the floor once more when his hand slipped. Instead of continuing to try and crawl away, he just let himself lay there and peered cautiously at the troll that had hit him. What was that?

'O-oh, uuh," Nictor stammered, still a bit dazed. "Y-y-yeah. I'----l be good." He didn't really have the presence of mind to question the other's motive's right then. Not too far off, Bee was untangling himself (rather unsuccessfully) from the mass of wire's he was tangling in. The buggy may have died, but the wires didn't magically unwind themselves, unfortunately.

Casini’s voice crackles over the PA. After the moment of quiet, her worried tone is eerie to say the least.

“Attention, attention everyone. Thank you for your patience during the suspension of activity. We had previously received word of an anonymous bomb threat and deemed it unsafe to continue while we combed the area! However, the message appears to have been a hoax. You are now welcome to resume –“

There’s a crackle and a pause. A door can be heard slamming open, and nervous chatter is scrambled over the airwaves.

“A break-in? Now?!”
“We can’t get in – the defense AI has come online…”
“But that’s not finished! What does this--? Oh, hell.”

Casini’s voice pours through the speakers all at once. “Attention! All able-bodied trolls, correspond at the Space Ladder construction site immediately! Thank you!”

"Look!" They'd just reached the computers when Casini's announcement sounded. At the distress call, Tevini watched as trolls began to pour from the area, heading straight for the Space Ladder construction site as directed. This meant a few of the occupied computers were now available. Also, many trolls were distracted and wouldn't be paying them very much attention for a few minutes.

"Here, we're in." Tevini murmured to her partner as they stopped in front of one of the unoccupied stations. Reaching down to operate the machine, she began hacking into their personal files. She'd watched some of the supervising trolls earlier and figured out a way to collect one of their passwords unnoticed. It wasn't really ethical nor did she want to explain it to Cerpin with their limited time so she didn't.

"Now you just need to..." Tevini trailed off, not wanting to say it out loud just in case anyone overheard them. She didn't know why anyone would bother in this time of crisis but was a paranoid and cautious troll nonetheless. She let Cerpin understand what she meant by fixing up her file first. She edited the information to completely overwrite Tevini Euruft. Instead that redblood that had been captured back in the swamp's name was actually Jaenne Doeroe. Her hair was usually straight and incredibly long, it'd just been mistaken as curly due to the humidity and conditions of the swamp. She added a note that it was unclear if the troll was an alias of a different troll or what and that Jaenne had disappeared after breaking free but it was possible she had succumbed to her injuries and died.

Then, Tevini pulled up Cerpin's file and moved over to let him overwrite it. There wasn't much time, as they both needed to try and head over to help dismantle what was waiting in the Space Tower. She knew there were other rebels here putting their lives on the line and she couldn't let them down.

"Nice work, Vee." Cerpin was troubled by the overhead announcement but they could take advantage of the distraction to hack the system. Tevini had been one step ahead of him and he stood back to let her do most the hard work. It was a little annoying to not be able to do it himself but he supposed it just meant it was good that he had allies like her. Still, he wondered if this was another point towards her assessment of him lacking helpful skills.

Once it was his turn at the machine, he began to overwrite the information under Cerpin Sugall's file. Changing the name to Whaers Waldoe and altering the address information. The fake troll had likely died during the battle in the swamp and no one had bothered to recover the body because, well, why would they? It just wasn't in their customs. He relocated the home to a place on the outskirts of Chittentown in a comfy but smaller clay house that overlooked the canyon. That ought to throw them off the skyscraper and their underground lair.

"We'd better check that out. If the tower blows, we're in trouble!" They lived here after all. If something collapsed over the city, it was going to be really bad. Sure, they could always move to the swamp but that was only if they survived whatever the intruders were trying to do. Grabbing his partner by the arm, he dragged her behind him towards the space elevator.

"Keep close to me. Blossmom can fly us out if we need but only if we stick together." The two trolls disappeared inside the building, ominously towering over them like a gallows.
