The Ducklett knew this would be her last battle. What had she been thinking taking on these intruders?! There were plenty other pokemon in the forest more suited then she was. Flailing around, she flew circles in odd directions. In her haste, she flapped her wings a little too much and sent an accidental Gust spinning towards the Barboach!

Being on the defensive wasn't working against this pokemon. But then again, using curse was something that would affect Heatmor and not Korbin. It didn't look like heatmor realized this though. Curse is a unique move that works differently for Ghost-type Pokémon than other Pokémon. Ghost-type Pokémon use 50% of their maximum HP to place a curse on the target. The cursed Pokémon loses 25% of their maximum HP every turn. If the user has less than 50% HP remaining, they will faint but the curse still takes effect. For all other Pokémon, Curse raises the user's Attack and Defense by one stage each and lowers Speed by one stage. Stats can be raised to a maximum of +6 stages each, or lowered to a minimum of -6 stages each. Kiani had read about pokemon moves and such in books, and she knew this about Curse. "Korbin, use acid spray again." She said, hoping that the heatmor was concentrating on it's curse more than avoiding an attack.
((Sorry if I was supposed to do damage calculations but I had to look up curse because I remember it being a different type of attack in the game that wasn't a physical attack. I can edit this if you find it unacceptable. ))
The Curse had been successful. The fire pokemon could feel the strength pouring in him. It made him feel more alive, almost close to the taste of blood. Ahhh the adrenaline. Grinning, he continued to watch the Wooper. It looked like the pokemon was going to use another Acid Spray. The anteater began to almost slide easily across the floor in different directions in order to attempt to avoid the attack!

(13 - 9) + (8 - 9) = 4 + -1 = 3DMG to Heatmor
It wasn't a very strong or successful attack, but at least Korbin managed to slightly hit the heatmor this time. Kiani watched carefully, knowing that this was going to be a hard battle. Korbin might have a type advantage, but he didn't know any water type moves. In all honesty, all Kiani wanted to do was survive this encounter.
>... Dad?< the little Cubone squeaked as he heard bizarre figure shuffle towards him. He peeked around the rock, and was suddenly struck dumb with fear. In his eyes, what stood before him was nothing less than a shambling horror, a distended Cubone bloated with some kind of nightmarish pain. It had a skull on, but... what was it? >Y-you--! You not Dad!< he wailed, scrambling backwards.
Of course, he was right. It was the world's least self-aware cosplaying Croagunk. But as he stared in terror, he wondered... could his father have...
>HEY KIDDO! I got that Oran Berry you wanted! Patrol ended early, Devon's taking my shift.<
Another voice boomed loudly through the cave. Another Cubone approached from behind the trainer and his group, this one larger and burlier than the two they'd seen before. He walked with the confidence of a fully evolved Pokemon, barely acknowledging any of the foreign invaders. He made a beeline right for the small Cubone, and lightly patted him on the head before placing the Berry in his paw. >Told that kid I could come with him, but no... guess he wanted to prove he's not lazy, but I-- what, what the hell?!< The older Cubone turned around, having suddenly registered Jekyll's attire. >What that--? Is that--? < He snarled, staring furiously. >That's-- you murdering b*****d! Kid, run!< Pushing his child out down a hidden tunnel, he'd slam his heavy bone into the wall, sending tremors up the rocks. The bigger Cubone would already be gone as the stalactites began to fall. The ghost would be safe... but not everyone was lucky enough to not possess a proper body.
[ROLL 2 D20S TO AVOID THE ROCKS FOR JEKYLL AND ARGYLE!]
The small Wooper had managed to hit him with Acid. It had a slight burning feeling once it hit his skin but otherwise did not deter him. Instead he laughed, an evil cackling kind of laughter. Ahh the feeling of burning made him in turn want to make things burn. Regardless of type, his fire was fairly strong from experience. Building it within him, he then licked his lips once, savoring the taste of blood. Ah, it would be glorious and a well-earned battle. With that, he shot flames to try and Incinerate the Wooper!
"For the record I didn't approve any of this and I'm almost as disgusted as you are!" Argyle would call to the Cubone, regardless of where it had went. In truth he didn't so much mind the idea of Jekyll wearing the skull, but he hadn't properly cleaned it, and given the entire....guise....even someone who could only see and not hear could tell his Croagunk had just done something beyond morbid. Now however was not the time for that!
As rocks fell from above Argyle would toss himself off to the side hoping to clear the landing area. Quick to use his brain, the boy would also call out "Sybelle, Ice Punch!" Just because she need not fear the debris didn't mean she couldn't help!
Comprehending that now probably wasn't the time to bother with confirmation less she enjoy her trainers squishy and broken, Sybelle would make an effort to fly at the largest of the falling rocks and freezing herself. Ice Punch worked well on Rock-types, so why not actual rocks? Sure she wouldn't destroy all the rocks, but she could at least break them up so there wasn't anything large enough to flatten a human!
Surprisingly Jekyll would just shrug, the jig was up he supposed. Though he did wonder, should he have spent more time on his costume, or was it his acting which had failed him? Seeing as his audience had already fled the scene he supposed he'd never truly know.
Surprisingly the Croagunk would keep the skull on his head; why waste a good helmet right? Putting his rubbery body and strong leg muscles to use, the amphibian would attempt to leap free of the area just as his trainer was doing. Best defense was to not be in the location where you needed to be defending!
Starter Pokemon: Croagunk [M] Name & Level: Jekyll, Lv 5 [Temperament] Naughty Bio:The story of how Argyle met Jekyll is a bit of an odd one. After purchasing a bulk shipment of skin rejuvenating mud from Sinnoh's Great Marsh (Guarnteed to take twenty years off your appearance!), Mistress Rosevelt had set aside some time for a fully immersive experience with the product, during which she received quite the surprise. It would seem the mud had come with stowaway in the form of an egg. Unfortunately it was about this same time the egg decided to hatch, splattering the aristocratic woman with muck and eggshell. After a shriek and shrill cry for the nearest Argyle to attend her, Verde arrived and was immediately ordered to dispose of the creature, although not before cleaning up the mess it had created. Whispering a snide remark just below his breath, both Mistress and Argyle were in for a surprise when the newly born Croagunk began to snicker devilishly. It seemed the Poison-type had heard the boy, and shared his sense of humor. Amused by this fact the young Butler then went about the task of convincing Mistress Rosevelt that the Croagunk would be quite useful in his regular duties, allowing him to make the manor to "shine as radiantly as you do Mistress Rosevelt". Little more in the way of convincing was required on the boy's part, and so he obtained his first and for the time being only Pokemon.
Since then Jekyll has proven a good match for Argyle, frequently snickering at the boy's comments be they made aloud, or simply implied. Unlike Argyle however Jekyll does nothing to hide his wicked nature, frequently mocking others quite openly and then laughing about it. Though cruel he is not crude, and more than willingly to amuse himself by catching the enemy off guard. (17 - 13) + (12 - 7) = 4 + 5 = 10DMG to Korbin. ((I hope I did that right, using sp. atk and sp. def))
Heatmor was strong. The flames surrounded Korbin and he dropped. He wasn't out for the count yet, but he was down. Kiani put her hands to her mouth, she was worried. Korbin had almost fainted, she wanted this to stop. But what could she do. She could give him the oran berry she had or she could try to convince the heatmor to join her team. She didn't have a lot of time to think, but she didn't want to run.

((Erm you did it partially right and yes, SP ATK and SP DEF were stats used for this move.))
(17 - 13) + (12 - 7) = 4 + 5 = 9 DMG /2 resistance = 4.5 rounded up to 5 DMG to KORBIN
KORBIN 5 HP REMAINING
Despite the fact that the Wooper was a water pokemon, even those could burn with a powerful flame. The pokemon would realize that as the Heatmor was no easy foe. It was getting time for him to prepare. Soon...soon. The taste. The sensation. Everything would be within his grasp. He just needed to endure a little bit longer. That in mind, he stared intently at his opponent awaiting it's next move.
Argyle would find himself perfectly safe, but his Pokemon would be in a much more precarious position. Sybelle's attempt to help was partially successful-- she'd hit the biggest piece that seemed to be making a beeline for Jekyll but came at the expense of her taking a bit of damage from the shrapnel. As for the little wretch himself... even Sybelle's attempts would only break the largest rock in half-- and it was still pretty large. It hit him square on the head... well, somewhat. He was still wearing his bony trophy.
- CRACK -
Between the Gastly's attempts at helping and the makeshift helmet, Jekyll's would at least take less damage than he might have. But when the dust settled, he'd still have gotten hit... though fortunately, the skull took some of the brunt. It had shattered into a fine dust-- no more cosplaying for him.
Jekyll took 5 DMG! Sybelle took 3 DMG! Cubone Skull is completely destroyed!

((Ah, alright, so I got it partially correct.))
Kiani watched the heatmor, she wanted this battle to be over but she was at a disadvantage. The heatmor was significantly stronger than Korbin even with his advantage. "Korbin, use Acid spray again." Kiani said. What else could she do? She didn't think that the heatmor would end the battle and join her team just because she asked. And it seemed to have some mental stability issues, so it probably wouldn't listen to reason. She really didn't know what to do.
For a moment Jekyll would mourn the loss of his helmet....and then immediately get over it and waddle off. Oh sure he'd been hurt, but that happened all the tiiiiiime in battle right?
Argyle would just sigh, wandering off into the cavern in search of the exit...or....entrance. Whichever. He just wanted off this gods forsaken island.

Once more hugging Sybelle, Argyle peered through the darkness. His eyes might have handled light poorly, but shadow was their time to shine! Long as nobody shined a bright light in here anyway. Oh where or where could the way out be....other than the one behind them. Wrong direction and all.

Surprisingly, although Argyle wasn't particularly fond of this place and more than happy to be leaving, the child kept up a fairly leisurely pace.
