C.T grinned at Esther as the girl struggled to keep her voice down, having to bit into her lip to keep herself from laughing aloud at the girl. "Well... Who's to say the knight is saving the princess from the castle tower she is locked in, maybe she likes it up there, and maybe the knight has to steal her away from her chamber so she could see how much greener the grass is on the other side." C.T argued, totally full of s**t now, but she couldn't bend now, she had come to far.

But it seemed Esther had a better out for the both of them, she grabbed Connie and kissed her. Couldn't argue with those results, Connie accepted the kiss happily and reciprocated. "And I'd be honored if you allowed me to be your knight." C.T returned once Esther had released her lips, and she was going to lean back in and kiss Esther again but a throat being cleared in the doorway let her know that they were no longer alone

"Ahem. If you two are done flirting, mom wants to know if you will be coming down to help clean." Kia spoke up, giving them a playful smirk that said 'I know what you two do behind closed doors' "She reminds me of Mag." Connie mused, mostly to Esther.

"Who?" Kia asked, curious, C.T just shook her head. "We're coming down."

Esther, blushing, nodded in agreement. Kia reminded her of Mag, too. Both girls had the same spunk--and nosiness. When Kia turned to go down the stairs, Esther stole one more kiss from Connie's lips before following to the kitchen. Once all three of them had reached the lower level, Alexei walked over to Connie and put a hand on her shoulder.

"Can I talk with you for a moment?" he asked.

"Of course, right when the cleaning starts!" Katja chimed in playfully from the kitchen, punctuating her jest with a sigh of mock exasperation.

"It'll only take a second, Katja," Alexei reassured her, smiling and shaking his head. He then sent Esther, who was standing by, concerned, a glance that implied this conversation was a private one.

"I, uh... I guess I'll go help out." Esther smiled at C.T. and went to aid Katja and the kids with the dinner dishes.

Alexei, meanwhile, pulled his daughter into the adjacent room, just out of earshot of the others. "Connie, I wanted to talk to you alone because I felt it wasn't my place to say anything," he started, glancing briefly to the kitchen before returning his gaze to C.T. "Esther said that she was human, but... does she know that she is actually, well, like us?"

C.T instantly glared at her father, she didn't know that the switch for how she felt about him could be slipped so fast, but she guessed it was because she was very protective of Esther. They joked about it all the time, about who wore the pants in the relationship, and about who was who's protector, but just like how Esther had chin checked, that guy who had bad mouthed C.T, Connie was now ready to defend her girlfriends name against her own father.

Alexei sensed this, hell he even saw the shift in C.T's entire visage, her milky brown eyes darkening to a dangerous black, and her legs spreading slightly, steadying her base. She saw the girls fist clench, and knew that he should tread lightly. "I'm not saying that's she lied to you, or that she is a liar." Alexei said, raising his hands in surrender, hoping to placate his daughter. He knew his wife would absolutely kill him if he somehow ran her away so fast. "What are you saying." C.T asked, crossing her arms. The stance she took now calmed Alexei, with her arms crossed she appeared a bit less threatening, well.. not really, but she couldn't hit him with her arms crossed. "I'm saying that some people go their whole lives without realizing that they share our gift, I know it seems weird to think like that because we are so attuned with ours, but some people just never figure it out." Alexei said, slowly lowering his hands.

"And you think Esther is one of these people?" C.T asked. "Not think, I know. I can feel the power in her, and she's got a lot of it." C.T's eyes glazed over a bit as she pondered this, she couldn't think of Esther as a supernatural, it just didn't register to her, that reality didn't make sense to her. She could just picture how Esther would have been treated if the public knew... if her father knew... Did he know? C.T shook her head not wanting to over think it, until she had fully accepted it. "Okay, now what?" C.T asked her father, who stepped forward and placed a hand on her shoulder. "You decide, if you are going to tell her, or if you are going to leave her in the dark, I'm sure you two will be happy together either way." Her father said, stepping away from her and heading back into the kitchen.

C.T stood by herself for a moment thinking on what she should do. But honestly there wasn't much thought to be put into this. She had kept a secret from Esther before, when she had went after Jacob by herself, and it had hurt Esther. She wouldn't make the same mistake twice. She'd tell Esther later tonight, when they were alone.

With that thought in mind, C.T pushed it all out of her mind, walked into the kitchen with a smile on her face, to help her family clean up.

After they cleaned up the kitchen, everyone went into the living room to talk. Katja and Alexei told C.T. and Esther stories about C.T.'s siblings when they were kids. They described each tale in detail, as if they were trying to make up for the fact that C.T. had missed all of it. There were points--especially during stories about Kia--when both Katja and Alexei were laughing so hard they were crying, and Esther was doing just about the same.

Then, emotionally and physically drained, C.T.'s parents said goodnight. Katja kissed the top of C.T.'s head. "Увидимся утром , любовь моя (See you in the morning, my love)," she whispered. Alexei squeezed C.T.'s shoulder affectionately and followed Katja up the stairs.

Watching them go up, Esther stood and stretched out her back and arms. "Ready to go up?" she asked, turning her attention to C.T. and smiling.

Thanks to the conversation C.T had been able to push all these crazy thoughts about Esther and her powers out of her mind. She'd even been able to join in on the laughter, something that she had been experiencing a lot more of since her time with Esther. But as the other slowly starting filtering out, heading to bed C.T became reminded of the conversation she would need to have with Esther, and then it started to eat at her, and as her mother kissed her and left with her husband to sleep, C.T knew that she couldn't push it off any further.

But as Esther stood and stretched cutely, smiling at her in that warm welcome way that only Esther could manage, C.T felt she could try and ignore it for just a bit longer, as she smiled back at Esther, reaching out and taking her hand and pulling Esther along with her towards the stairs. "Yea, I'm ready."

The walk to her room hadn't taken as long as she wanted to, and as she closed the door to the room behind her, C.T couldn't help but let out a heavy sigh, she had to tell her.

"Esther." C.T said, before pausing for a moment, struggling for the words. "If someone knew something about you, that you didn't know, would you want them to tell you? Even if you were happy not knowing?"

Esther was beaming. C.T. seemed to be in a pretty good mood, albeit maybe a little distracted, and that automatically put Esther in a good mood, too. Once they reached the bedroom, Esther walked over to her suitcase and started rummaging through it, looking for her pajamas. Dammit, she should have listened to Mag's organization tips... When C.T. spoke, Esther put her search on pause and turned around to look at her girlfriend. So Esther had been right--C.T. really was distracted by something. The question caused the blonde to frown. Where was this coming from? She considered for a second, running a hand through her hair, eyes lifting to the ceiling. "I don't know," she said honestly, shrugging. "I guess it would depend on what that something was. Like, if I was dying, I don't think I'd want to know. Either way, I would never feel like I had done enough, spent enough time with the people I love. But if I knew, I would just worry all of the time." She paused, studying C.T.'s face. "Why do you ask? Is this about when your father pulled you aside? Did he tell you something about yourself that was... hard to hear?"

Well Esther wasn't dying. Maybe what C.T had to tell her wasn't so bad.

She had to clear up the confusion now anyway, she had acted so shifty that now Esther thought it was something wrong with C.T that had her worried, but that wasn't the case. Not that she thought that Esther not being human meant something was wrong with her. It just wasn't what she was used to. "No, he didn't tell me anything about myself. But," C,T paused, thinking over what her father said, shaking her head. "But he said something about you." C.T admitted wincing a bit, not sure how Esther would take it.

"Have you ever.... I don't know, felt different from other humans?"

Esther blinked. "About... me?" She was clearly confused, and the serious tone C.T. had adopted wasn't helping her nerves any. Had she ever felt different than other humans, C.T. was asking. Where was this going? Esther hesitated a moment. "No, not really," she said slowly. Then she narrowed her eyes. "Should I have?" Her gaze sunk to the ground and she wrapped her arms around herself self-consciously. "I mean, I've always felt kind of like an outcast, but that's because of my upbringing. Bradleys don't make too many real friends." Meeting C.T.'s eyes again, Esther asked, concerned, "What... What are you getting at, Connie?"

C.T shook her head "no" but she didn't know, really if Esther should or should not have felt differently, her powers were a mystery to her and maybe that was a good thing, after what C.T and most everyone else like her had been through, it was probably better for Esther that she didn't know.

Though it did hurt her heart knowing that even without knowing that she wasn't human, C.T moved closer to Esther and put a hand over her shoulder, offering the girl a smile, though it was a bit weak, knowing that what she had to tell her probably wouldn't be so easy to swallow. Esther seemed to feel that was the case because the tone in which she asked Connie what she was getting at showed her worry. C.T thought it better to not keep her waiting any longer. "My father, he told us before that he can detect abilities within people, and he's told me that he senses power within you." C.T said letting it all out without hesitation. "Basically, your one of us."

Esther's heart stopped and her eyes grew wide. She was silent for a moment, clearly unable to register what she was being told. It didn't make sense to her. "W-What?" she sputtered, finally finding her voice again. "No, no, that can't be right. I-I mean, is he... is he sure? Because that can't be true. I mean, I've never done a... uh, supernatural thing in my life. Not to mention, both of my parents are one hundred percent human. How can I go my entire life without knowing--or even suspecting?"

"He said that sometimes people can go their entire lives without ever finding out that they are not human." C.T said softly, Esther's reaction hadn't been as bad as she expected. The girl was shocked, obviously so, but she didn't seem too distraught. Just confused.

"Most supernaturals that I know, only found out about their powers because they were told they had them, or an accident happened, that caused them to manifest." C.T said, these accidents were mostly stress driven, in moments of pure despair and helplessness, where divine intervention would be needed for survival.

"Maybe..." C.T swallowed, hoping not to overstep her bounds when she said this. "Maybe, one of your parents didn't tell you the whole truth." If this were the case, C.T had a very good idea which parent it was that lied. "And maybe your father's stance against our kind, helped to push any thoughts of you possible being supernatural so far out of your mind that your body repressed your abilities." C.T offered fishing for an explanation.

Esther didn't know where to begin. She didn't know how to process something like this. There was just too much. When she had learned the truth about her father, it had been overwhelming, but in the end she was simply (and emotionally) fleshing out details she was already aware of. This time, however, Esther felt like her entire identity was cracking, threatening to shatter. If C.T.'s father was right and Esther was indeed supernatural, then she was frustrated with herself for never noticing she was different than her peers.

                  And her parents...

C.T. suggested one of them had lied to her. A flurry of thoughts raced through Esther's head so quickly and so loudly that she nearly stumbled backward. Her father was almost definitely human. His crusade against supernaturals wouldn't make any sense if he was himself a supernatural, and, anyway, he likely would have used his powers in front of C.T. or Esther by now. So what of her mother? Even if she was human, it wasn't like her relationship with Jacob was all that strong. Maybe she had an affair? But then Esther wouldn't be related to Jacob, and--

Esther was beginning to panic. She didn't know what to do with the information C.T. was giving her, and she was shutting down as a result. A million questions raced through her head. Did her parents know? If her powers had manifested sooner, how would her childhood have changed? How would her father have treated her? Were there early signs that her parents purposefully ignored? What were her powers?

Esther drew in a deep, shaky breath and let it out slowly, trying to calm herself, but it didn't work. "He has to be wrong," she said, shaking her head again. "I don't feel anything, C.T. He must be confused."

"You're right, maybe he is wrong, he could have just been a little excited today, and read you wrong or something." C.T said, softly, grabbing Esther by the elbows and just holding the girl in front of her. She could see that this was taking a turn for the worst and that Esther was starting to lose her cool. C.T didn't want the girl to panic.

"It's just a misunderstanding, we can leave it at that. We don't have to talk about this anymore, you don't have to worry." C.T soothed. placing a hand on Esther's cheek.

"Let's just go to sleep ok? Get some rest and forget about this whole thing."

When C.T. grabbed Esther's elbows, she managed to pull the blonde out of her own head a little bit. Esther had been looking at C.T. before, but she hadn't really been focusing. Now her gaze was a little clearer. C.T. was agreeing with her, saying it was possible Alexei got it wrong, reassuring her that this could be put aside for now--and reminding Esther of all of the reasons why she was in love with C.T.

Regaining her senses, Esther said, "It isn't that I'm... I dunno... disgusted by the idea." She wanted to clarify, make sure C.T. understood that her reaction wasn't due to negative feelings about the thought of being a supernatural, even if she didn't have to. "I've just lived my entire life as an ordinary human." She paused a moment. "If he was right, how would I know? How would I find my powers if I don't even know what they are--or if I even really have them?"

"I wouldn't believe you even if you said you did find it disgusting, you've shown that you are nothing but open minded." C.T reassured, rubbing Esther's arm with the hand that she had left on the girls elbow, smiling at her.

"And I know why this can be hard to accept as fact." C.T added. "It's like when I found out I had parents. I almost didn't want to believe it. I had gone so long thinking that they were gone, that they no longer existed, and suddenly I find out that they are out there. It makes you question everything you've ever known." C.T said, before pursing her lips trying to find an answer to Esther's other question. "I don't know, I can't remember a time where I didn't know how to use my powers." C.T said, raising her hands, her bloods rushing through her skin, and gathering in her palms, pooling up. "It's just natural, like an extension of my body. I know this doesn't help you, but it's like. An extra muscle, one that you have to force into action." C.T said, though she felt that it might confuse Esther.

Right now she was like that person who could wiggle her ears, and was trying to teach others how to do it. Sure to C.T it was simple, not thought needed to be put into it. But Esther didn't even know how to force the muscles in her ears to life. "Maybe if you start searching for it now, since you know it's a possibility, your gift will become clear to you." C.T said, wishing she could be more helpful.
