Anonypanda Wintry Tea so i would have to ask Pinkie if i could be a room host? biggrin A little later on there will be applications you can use to sign up for what you want to do. They aren't up now as the last ball just ended. We still have a full year until the next one. plenty of time lol. I think the proity is the Theme for the ball, then the room number, THEN Hosts and co-hosts. I think just for now helping with theme ideas is your best course of action ok, thank you biggrin i wish the grand ball was less then a year like, 2 a year

Even from the get go, show had one of my characters arrested and interrogated, tried to kill me, steal my color, all kinds of stuff. >_>; Most people can't even see through her disguise magic... >_> Luckily, I have a few characters unaffected.  well, what'd you do to her to get her on your case? I guess I'm just the perpetual good guy, and that threatens any and all evil plans. >_> Plus, once my Vampire Hunter picked her up as a hostile spy, and she didn't particularly like being interrogated. :I

I actually think for now it'd be best to wait, there will be threads and such for applying to open positions when they're ready. Are you sort of new here? They're are probably a lot of people very involved with the Ball for a long time now that'll be in the main positions. It might be better to be a co-host or official RPer.

lol you won't be saying that in a few months when we get everything rolling. Once all the work starts, you'll see why it's an annual ball, not bi annual. Just the art alone takes months to plan, draw, get back and finalize

Well that's not a good way to look at it. New people are given jobs all the time that would surprise you. By your definition I should have been nominated to host a ball by now. New people are needed to keep these things fresh and exciting, give new ideas, and new ways to plan things. The ball is always evolving every year. That's because people like her want to step up and get involved. I say go for a room host position, if it's not what you were expecting then ask for help or step down. It never hurts to try.

pff or your good guy attitude and her good girl attitude work like magnets, and you can't ever get along.
or that would do it. you need tact in an investigation good sir. If you have no tact when talking to women, your always setting yourself up for disappointment.

Wintry Tea yea truw, well aparently change of plans of my big "dreams" to be a room host '.' i already am having people tell me not to follow what the 'big dream' i want to do and just be a nobody rper '.'
Lol first thing you gotta learn if you want to be a good host is to take criticism, good and bad with a grain of salt, and don't let it get to you. You can try out for anything you want to. As long as you have the conviction and dedication to do it, you should be fine. Though don't be disappointed if you aren't chosen the first time, and just try your best. Just remember though, all of the roles in the ball are needed, and they are fun. so that "nobody RPer" is probably having just as much a great time as the Room host. I think Kay was just saying that Hosting a room is a lot of responsibility. So you have to be ready to deal with it if you are chosen.

yea ik, i dont take people's critism very well, also it's not just him, i had other people put me down like that to. I know its alot of responsibility and i know its sometimes hard to handle but i can do it, and i want to do it

lol well just do well on the application. Helping out with fundraising and advertising will really help you too. Being active around the guild and talking with everyone will make you more well known, and being nice to everyone will help people like you more.
Though depending on the theme idea I may apply to be a host or co-host again myself despite what i said before. So we may end up as competition.

Wintry Tea so your saying i shouldn't even try? '.' No, I'm saying the process hasn't started yet. And that in my opinion, literally jumping straight for a top position, especially before they're trying to fill them, is probably not the best course of action, is all. sweatdrop

lol well just work on that a bit at a time. As a room host you are more in the spotlight, and there's more reason to be criticized. Just let it roll off you and move on. If you think you can do it then there should be no reason to stop trying. Better have you who is new and dedicated then someone with experience but no motivation running a room.
