The minute the portals sucked in everyone on stage, Mort was out. Alex was right – and for once the boil’s advice was taken. Mort simply nodded and pushed himself to his feet, looking withdrawn as he tugged the hoodie over his head more and patted his bro's shoulder in passing. They both had people to prepare themselves for and, after that stunt out of the blue with the portals, he needed to go gather his thoughts again.
"See you in a bit. Good luck."
This zomboil was done with portals and panic and grey for a good while. A lifetime's worth really.

Merry's assessment of his current sparkly problem didn't quite help the exasperated sigh that left him as he tried to blow a strand of hair out of his face, the glitterdust flying off it almost making him sneeze. "It is not." He huffed, voice sounding suspiciously pouty, though the small smile forming on his lips was threatening to give him away. He was enjoying the thought of being with others, even if the terror of being leered at by pink princess statues was trying to win the battle of proverbial wit. "If you come any closer you'll end up with it caught in your feathers. Then we'll both be sparkling." His tone was pseudo-threatening, though it dissolved into laughter once he'd finished. He was infinately sure she could probably handle glittery feathers better than he could handle glittery hair.
Nahm's comment was enough to make Yosuke double-take though, if only because for a moment he thought the boil was serious. Then he remembered a little known thing called sarcasm and almost kicked himself. Well, at least the whole thing was internal. No need to seem more awkward than he already was. "I've got your back." He supplied after a moment, giving a lopsided smile. Well, blew that one. Awkward was just a well-known friend now.
Luckily, Merry supplied Than directly after, and Yosuke was grateful; nodding in agreement to her words wholeheartedly. "He's got all our backs, too. The sparkle house doesn't stand a chance." Somewhere, the glitter was likely now spelling the words challenge accepted, punk in the darkness of those pretty hallways.
It was about then that the screech from the stage alerted Yosuke to something entirely new, possibly saving him from the horror of the Sparkle House indefinitely. He listened with rapt attention, taking in the speech and sights while occasionally excitedly grinning at his groupmates. It was something to be excited about surely, and he took in every word until the static and screeching started.
"What's going on? My head feels like it's cracking open!" Words spoken through clenched teeth, and he already was grabbing at his hair in hopes it would just stop so he could shut his eyes. Of course his eyes stayed open through the blaring headache and gasping crowd, suddenly glued to the pumpkin as it twisted and changed. What in Jack's name?
"Did they just get swallowed whole?" His voice was meek, and he might have been shaking just a little. His thoughts were a mile a minute. 'We need to get out of here, don't we? Maybe if we could just-' He was mentally cut off by the evacuation order, and thank Jack it was probably right on time.
"We'll have to meet up again, right? On campus." He tried to sound calm, but it probably wasn't working. Still, the idea that they wouldn't get separated was silly at this point anyway, the crowd was already moving after all. "This was amazing while it lasted!" He added as an afterthought, smiling despite the hint of dread trying to creep up his back like a stubborn bug. Surely this wouldn't be the last time they'd meet. He had to believe that.

"Very nice," Eva complemented Ariane after a few squishes, completely oblivious to the boys' conversation, "Almost as good as your real ones, but--"
She cut herself off when Jude suggested that they go, pouting at him. "Aww, but we were just showing each other our golems! And besides, there's still some stuff to do around here--"
And then she was interrupted yet again when things suddenly started happening. Staring blankly at the portals that had suddenly appeared, Eva suddenly frowned, slowly letting go of Ariane to gently reach out and grab Gale and Otto's arms in either hand. "Y-yeah, you know what, I think you're right. It's time to go, so...let's get out of here."

The baku quite visibly relaxed when Shun's father excused himself and left--she really did not like that man one bit--but her relief was short lived with the sudden appearance of the portal and the chaos that ensured immediately after. Did those...did those townspeople just get pulled in? There wasn't much time to dwell on the matter when the order to evacuate was given.
"I don't know what that is, and it's a pity that the festivities have to be cut short, but..." Grimacing, she eyed the portal with both curiosity and wariness before jerking her head in the direction of all the fleeing townspeople.
"We'd better get out of here."

Somehow saved from any more unfortunate conversation topics, or weird feelings between anybody, or even just standing around not knowing what to do, there was a noise that effectively meant something on stage was happening. Thankfully it was the mayor, which meant that this little party was soon to be wrapped up. Which was nice, but also a little sad. Halloween was always such fun, it was a shame to see it end, even if things had turned a bit bittersweet. But still, one had to be polite and listen to the speech, so Belladonna turned her attention away from the three around her and toward the stage. Though quite a lot had happened, things seemed better. They could get better, they would get better. Even the glare from Nox over her rather accomplished Trick or Treating (she'd gotten 90 whole points! If she'd had just one more minute she could have gotten a full 100!!) could not diminish the small smile that was had begun to form on her face. But the static and the sudden appearance of the portal, as well as disappearance of those onstage, was enough to erase it completely. A startled little noise exited Belladonna as she clamped one hand over her mouth to keep from shouting and pressed the other hand to Ren's arm. The shout to remain calm did nothing to ease her worried state, but the order to evacuate was at least one the witch could heed.
With a sad smile she turned to her group and gave them a quick nod. "I am afraid we must call it a night. It was lovely meeting you Natalia, and seeing you both again." Belladonna quickly told the group as she bestowed upon each of them a hug, though the one for Ren was warmest and the one for Grendel more of the one armed variety. "Each of you must come see me again soon. I would... Enjoy it very much." She told them, trying her very best to not look worried or sad or even attempt a smile, but failed on all accounts. The witch gave a quick curtsey before she was off, dodged back into the crowd and headed to her dorm room. This night had been long enough to begin with with her Trick or Treating, which had gone fairly well. But this... This was not the way she wanted to end her night. With any luck, Belladonna would get to have a happier close to her evening, but as she cast a glance back at the still pulsing portal, she just wasn't sure.

"How interesting! I wonder where they went?" Canon exclaimed, eyestalk orienting on the stage and the vanished crowd that had been upon it. A swirl of light, and then they were gone! The Skark had never seen anything like it, and she wanted to investigate, heedless of the fact she'd no doubt be trampled if she left Riley's head now. It was fortunate the older ghoul restrained her. While Canon was curious about the portal, it wasn't there anymore, and she'd just found Riley again.
Of the two priorities, her friend took the higher position, and Canon made a mental note to investigate the topic of portals later. She lowered her eyestalk again, so she could meet Riley's eyes.
"Not safe? Do those things appear often?" she asked, antennae curling up into question marks. "If we can't stay here, maybe you could show me a bit of the campus? I've been to the Monster Dorms, and the Gymnasium, but there are a lot of places I haven't seen yet."
Before kept himself in whatever position he was in at that moment, trying to reorient himself and come up with something relatively decent for an excuse. Damn it, why’d he have to be so ******** happy to see Mort was A-OK? He certainly wasn’t as thrilled about Alex (yes, he remembered the somewhat cranky attitude he received with the insani-b***h tried to maul them all). But then again, Before was a sap for certain Halloweeners.
"O-ooooh, no, no, no, nooooooo~" he drawled again, raising a hand in an attempt to wave it in dismissal. "I'm like reeeeeeeeeeal sure we don't knoooooow each other, y'knooooooow? Since you two were, y'know, sitting down and aaaaaaall, kinda mistook you for someone my heeeeeeight. I mean, most of the time it's just a seeeeeeeaaaaaa, or, like, a fooooooooorest of leeeeeegs. Everywhere. Alla the time," Before's mouth was running on auto-pilot at this point, he was just letting the words come to him and barely remembering to include that long, lazy drawl. s**t was he really going to have to use that the whole time while in this golem? Fuuuuuuuuuck!
He was sure at this point he'd be granted the mental vision of Vanna rolling her eyes. Somehow. Despite the Devil Shield essentially having features wrought from metal. She would manage to roll them, that Before was sure of. God, Before really, really missed Vanna.
The hunter in golem's clothing suddenly went quiet, and tried to scoot on over where the two zombie dudes were. "I'm sooooooo soooooooooorry about suddenly glomming on you like that," he began, trying to keep himself from twitching in worry. Was he using the right jargon? He didn't have his partner to correct his words the way she normally would. "Can I make it up to you twoooooooooo bo-"
There was a sudden pressure in the back of his head, a sudden weight upon his shoulders, and a sharp constriction around his body. Then it was gone. Replaced by a lightness he thought he'd never feel again and the two zombies did not seem to matter as much to the hunter because, Vanna?
Yes, silly Before? she sounded confused and tired. But she was back! Oh God, she was BACK! And just as joy and relief and the thought that all things wonderful and good were possible began to sing through Before's veins, s**t happened. 8I
But you know what? ******** that s**t, VANNA WAS BACK AND BEFORE WAS GOING TO BE HAPPY! And with that, he quickly left.

Kiwi was shocked when what was left of the pumpkin began to distort itself, warping into a near perfect portal. Medea, no, all the officials of Halloween were sucked in, and suddenly, he felt an anxious dread. They were being called to evacuate and everyone was screaming, running in different directions. He hurried through the crowd, catching sight of several horsemen ahead. But before he could make it, he was shoved to the side, falling directly into the maw of a rather unnoticeable portal.
Merry's warning of Nahm's potentially dangerous traits didn't thwart him a bit, as he leaned just a little closer, and grinned back at the grue. "Than bites, Nahm bites, everybody bites." He churred, seeming absolutely comfortable with the idea. Being Halloweeners, in his opinion it came with the territory. A mouth full of sharp teeth was a definite asset in this part of existence.
Thannas laughed softly, the pup flushing a bit in excitement, and a tinge of giddy embarrassment. His ears perked with his rather childish enthusiasm and he gave Merry's hand a returning squeeze. "Than will most certainly come!" He trilled, "But he is thinking, yesly, that he will go, and 'Saja will go, and Merry will go and AAAAAAAAAAAALL TOGETHERS we will be safelike." His good eye looked quickly between all the gathered acquaintances. "Thanisveryveryverybravethough." He threw in the words in a touch quieter tone, just to ensure that there was no doubt on the matter. Though he had his qualms, he was not going to tell anyone of them. This, after all, was supposed to be harmless, albeit sparkling, fun.
He had chuckled again, reaching to brush some of the glitter motes out of Yosuke's hair, bemused and enchanted by the play of silvery specks amidst the ebon of the Ittan-Momen's tresses...when their attention was diverted by the stage, head snapping up, ears swiveling as the pup whuffed softly in curiosity. Yes. This...this was what it was all about. Being surrounded by friends and celebrating the holiday, it gave the Fae-Hound a sincere hope for the future.
At least, until the noise, the opening of the portal, the absolute terror that was the prominent figures of Halloween simply getting swallowed up. His tail was instantly tucked twixt' his legs, ears pinned into hair in an expression of fear and trepidation. It was as though something was pressing down upon him, and Than felt his heart speed up, pattering desperately as the pressure intensified.Looking quickly to those surrounding him, he made a sound that was easily identifiable as a distressed whimper, fingertips tightening a moment around Merry's hand, whilst his other sought Aksaja's, desperately seeking the steadiness of the dragon. "W-We're leaving? Thisisbad. Veryveryverybad." It was soft, and desperate, and despite the admonishment not to panic, Thannas couldn't help but feel an element of that very emotion coiled in his chest.
He had to leave. In a time like this he knew he had best get home, his father would rip into him whether he returned promptly or no, but it would be infinitely worse should he not make his trip home swiftly after such a disturbance. "Than is sorries...." He murmured, "Than...Than has to go homelike...Than's father..." The pup shook his head, trying very much to not become further distressed, good eye glimmering suspiciously. "G'bye, Yoyosuke..." It was barely trilled as the crowd began to move, and the Ittan-Momen made his retreat.
He'd hardly had enough time....it seemed like no time at all. Gnawing forlornly at his lower lip, he then turned first to Merry, coiling arms around her waist and pressing his head against the ghoul's side, he released a shuddering breath. "Than will see Merry later...?" It was an almost-question, stated with only the faintest whisper of query. He would see her later, he would make such a thing occur if he had to!
There was a wave at Nahm, with a rather disappointed smile. Than would have liked to talk more with the other boil, as he seemed most interesting indeed. "Next timelike will be better!" Next time Nahm and Than would have an adventure, the pup had decided, and further scrutiny would be applied to the Fae-hound's newest friend. Everyone, after all, upon meeting in a positive light, was Than's friend.
It was last that he turned to Aksaja, the dragon and Merry being his longest-standing friends, and to the tanned boil he too gave an enthusiastic, desperate hug, as though he could take some of that contact with him back home. "Bye, Saja..." It was murmured with a hint of a sniffle. The last thing he wanted to do was return, as natural and not-so-natural disasters would simply not be taken into consideration by Than's sire. Likely it would just be another way to construe the youngling as a disappointment. There was a fleeting thought for a moment, Than wondering if he should stay...wishing that that was his place. But he knew that for his own safety he would likely be sent home...he didn't belong here. Not yet. "Than will see you at school soon!" Tilting his head up, he gave Aksaja, and then the rest of his friends, the best smile that he could muster. "Let Than know what happens, okies? Pleasie?" There was worry there, for the lot of them, for Amityville.
"Lets be a'gettings out of heres."

She searched the face of the wrath demon before piping up about his offer. Don't go sayin' anythin' ya'don't mean on ma'ccount, boil. Especially if he was going to be criticizing her cooking; Levi wasn't the best of cooks, that was for certain, but the ghoul'd be darned if West was going to say otherwise. That was a challenge waiting to happen.
Then the boils began doing boilish things. Demi, or his really happy side, began and West followed up. Shaking her head with a grin, Levi placed her hands at her hips and watched the two have at their poking. Ya'know, if'I didn't know any better, I'd say ya'll were tha'best'a pals.
Just as the ghoul turned back to see the boil in a distance breaking away from his stare, she got a sense of deja vu. Seeing him at this angle with his head down was familiar to her. At the same time, something was missing; actually a few things were missing. For one, she couldn't place where it was she must've seen this boil. It seemed like a long time ago, but Levi hadn't caught so much as a glimpse of another critter besides her tatzel kin till she came over to Amity. It was impossible that she could have known him. A spider climbed onto the boil in question's back, looking at her, again, quite intently like she was known. For good old manners sake, the tatzel gave a hi-thar-n-hello wave of one arm over the crowd to him and the ghostly ghoul he was with.
This was just as the stage became active. So active, in fact, that a portal appeared and boogies began to flood the area as if they'd been there the whole time. What'in'tha'candy pickin'- Levi promptly looked from West to Demi to ensure nothing had magically swept them away as well. It was a momentary look of panic she displayed that settled as soon as they were both within her view again. The ghoul sighed, looking back up at the stage before consulting her company. Think we better git'goin', boils. She was sure Xiu and Shun had safely made their way through the crowd just as they'd attempt to do now as well. Staying by such things was almost like asking to be captured to the tatzel.
Well, to be truthful.. things of this nature occur rather frequently here. This, specifically, is not something I am acquainted with.. but I'm confident it's from the same strain of ill events that we deal with here at Amity. She patted the ghoul on her head gently as she walked away. Now, I'd be happy to show you some of the campus. This way.
And she led the ghoul away from the square, off to have a little tour of their own.

AND THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER

With the arrival of the mayor and the horsewoman he hated above all the rest, West could no longer spare space in his brain for creeper ghouls and boils with... was that a spider? Okay, fine, that was pretty cool. He didn't even mind that Levi was waving at the reaper... for now.
When the screeching began, West snarled, drawing his hands into fists as if he could punch the sound away. If what he had envisioned earlier came to pass, if hunters popped out of nowhere and tried to ruin this celebration, he was going to flip them inside out and wipe his a** with their filthy corpses. Before they exploded into uselessness. Somehow. On second thought, that sounded more than a little messy.
"Yeah," he said, moving closer to Levi and shaking his previous thoughts from his mind. "I'm not in th' mood t'go... wherever they did." He held his arm up for a moment, gesturing in the direction of the school. "Back to th' dorms?" he asked the pair of monsters.
The celebration was going well at least it was in damien's mind. The festivities was getting rowdy and it seemed more packed than he expected. guess it was all the residents that decided to come join in. He listened silently as the mayor took his place and began addressing them.
Well, as quiet one hound can be with a plate of food in front of him. In the depths of his mind, the personalities was worried that it wasn't going to be peaceful for very long, and the hellhound had to agree with them When did it ever stay peaceful for very long around here?
And surprise, surprise. There was chaos on the main stage. he looked on blankly as the mayor went poof. All that was missing was for the hunters to just try and appear and shove them into the swirling opening.
He wasn't going to wait for that to occur. They had to get out of here while they still had the chance. The pup took the moment to fill up another plate full of meat and then careened his way between Levi and West. "Yeah Let's make tracks." he quipped up.
As bad as he felt not going in after the missing, but at the same time, the thought of leaving the Tatzel behind to worry about little old him...
It just wasn't right. West didn't matter. And he made sure to justify that to himself by shoving a piece of bacon wrapped cockatrice meat at the demon. "But you. eeeeeeaaaaaaaaat."
