 Niji Han she gave a small whimper and curled into Ethan, peaking out at Lock with tears dripping down her face. "they don't know either." she muttered, her lip quivering as she looked at him. "please don't make me tell you? i-i don't wanna have nightmares again...." she sniffled, holding Ethan's shirt tightly. {translation:}

๑۩۞۩๑๑۩ﺴ Some shadows have more depth. ﺴ۩๑ With a long sigh Ethan glowered to the door. For a genius detective, Lock was being really stupid right now. He means, he knows how relationships between siblings goes, and he'd like to meet the person who hurt Niji, too, but look at her! Even remembering the look of whoever did harmed her sent her into a near panic attack! He would rather her stay healthy and fine than traumatize her for the sake of revenge."Ethan?"He perked up when he heard the kitchen door open and saw his mom's head peek out. "Is everything okay?" she asked with concern in her tone, her gaze occasionally flickering to Niji but staying on her son. "We saw Lock rush out, did something happen?"Ethan stayed silent for a moment, and in that moment he realized that the TV volume was drastically lowered. He sighed through his nose. So not only did Lock run off and leave him with crying Niji, but his family knew it too. "Everything's fine, Mom." he told her softly and gave her a light smile, ushering her back to the rest of his family.

Niji Han Niji gave a tiny whimper when lock stormed out, hugging Ethan closer as she cried into his shoulder. "i-i did it again........" she whispered, holding his shirt in one hand as she looked at him. "didn't i.....?" {translation:}

Exhaling through his nose again, Ethan looked down at Niji and smiled softly at her. "You didn't do anything wrong." he assured her softly and stroked her hair comfortingly. "Are you okay?"

Niji Han she gave a small sigh and hopped out of his arms, rubbing her eyes as she went to the cupboard and grabbed a cup, filling it with water from the sink. taking a long drink, she sighed and looked at him. "its okay....... a-at least.... at least i know he cares..." she mumbled, smiling rather sadly. {translation:}

He looked off to where he could hear his dad and his brother arguing over who made the right play in the football game then looked at Niji. He had to admit, he kind of felt as though it were his fault. He was infamous for the bad luck he spread, and he wouldn't be too surprised if Lock left because of the bad luck Niji was... given..... Oh God. Ethan's eyes widened a little as he realized something awful: Lock had been by his side for so long, and now he was within the shadow's clutches!
Oh no.
Ethan focused back on Niji. She had already been through enough, she didn't need anything more to worry about. B... Besides, Lock could handle himself, and it wasn't like the shadow was trouble now that it listened to him. But he couldn't help but worry. A yell from his dad shook him back to earth. Maybe... Maybe some family time was all he needed. "Why don't we-" He coughed to stabilize his voice. "Why don't we go watch the game with my family?" he offered to her with a half-smile.

"You missed the game, boy!" his dad griped and twitched his mustache."But you made it in time for either the Polar Express or Wheel of Fortune." Mark mentioned with little enthusiasm. "Mom wants Polar, Dad and I want the Wheel. What's your vote, and you'd better vote right." he threatened the last part.Ethan tensed up at the sudden pressure and gave it thought. He looked at each of his family members' face. Mark's threatening narrowed eyes, Mom's hopeful smile, Dad's.............. Yeah. "Umm..." he started and looked around awkwardly, trying to put reasoning behind it. "Well.... Wheel of Fortune is on all the time... and the Polar Express shows only around Christmas so.... I go with Polar Express."His dad and brother threw their hands up with matching groans. "Great!" his dad grumbled. "We're tied! You happy, boy?"
