(( It was Linger, the second of the Wolves of Mercy Falls series. It's about Sam, a yellow-eyed boy who spends the winter as a wolf once he was bitten along with his pack, and Grace, who was attacked by the pack when she was younger and saved by him. The difference is, she never shifted once bitten, and he would sit outside her house as a wolf as if he was waiting for her to. Then they finally meet and fall in love in the summer time, while he's a human, and Grace finds out that if they can't find a cure to keep him that way before the winter comes, he'll have run out of time and stop shifting, staying an unintelligent animal for the rest of his life. And that's just the first book... orz ))

(( Sort of... The author explains it more like a disease, and once bitten they only spend so many years going back and forth. Once it gets cold, it triggers the shift, and then they remain as wolves until the summer, when the warm weather triggers them to shift back into humans. After ten years or so, once it gets cold and they shift, it's permanent and they're stuck like that for the rest of their life, forgetting about their human life. In all reality, once they're wolves, they don't remember hardly anything and are pretty much just regular wolves. ))
