Leon tossed the jacket over his shoulder as they neared the caves, stopping right in the entrance and taking a look around. He couldn’t see much of anything except rocks and dirt. Only a few steps in there was already a noticeable temperature drop, but the boy left his coat off for now.

As they proceeded deeper into the cave, Muuma began to disappear through walls and even just large rocks, searching farther into the place and keeping them away from dead ends. There were times when the two would just travel together quietly, enjoying the dark coolness of the cave as opposed to the harsh, beating sun that was waiting for them outside.

Muuma floated in front of Leon, moving to his other side, glancing down at a boulder as they passed by it. Leon followered her gaze and saw a decent sized yellow Pokémon napping against it. He wasn’t sure what it was, but he was pretty sure that it was not the Ghost-type Mr. Briney had been talking about, and he didn’t feel like getting into anything right now, so the two left it alone. If it woke up and attacked them, so be it, but Leon certainly wasn’t going to bother a sleeping Pokémon when he knew the cave was bound to be full of them. In fact, it was lucky of them not to have been attacked by anything up to this point.

[Magma Time Line]

Kilik was stretching a little bit when Winona had come outside to greet him and explain that she was heading towards Lilycove. Of course he knew the way! He was from Hoenn! The Skarmory she let out was a very beautiful Pokemon; the way the light reflected off its metal wings was almost blinding. And like a rocket, the Skarmory shot off into the sky with Winona. "H-hey whoa!" Kilik laughed, running back and jumping onto Bahamut. "Let's follow 'em!" The dragon whipped her tail against the ground and used it as a sort of propulsion and flew into the sky following the gleaming light in the distance. That Skarmory was fast, that's for sure.

Kilik put his hands on the back of Bahamut's neck and sighed a little. He was sure that, regardless of how long it took him to get to Lilycove, Mike would still be out cold. "Well, out hot is more like it. Mike is incapable of cold." Though knowing his luck, Kilik would wind up getting there and Mike be fit as a fiddle. Not that that would be a bad thing! Its not that he wanted to see his friend unconscious, but he considered that it would be pretty important to be there when he woke up.

Bahamut looked over her shoulder at Kilik and cooed softly. She could tell that her trainer was bothered, despite the mask he put on in front of Winona and the others. He had a long day. She had a long day. When was it going to be restful times? She had decided to stop trying to play catch up with the Skarmory, as it was clear the head start it had was too much. She glanced down as they flew over Mauville, trainers bustling along on brand new bikes and a few trainers leaving the Gym defeated.

Kilik yawned and leaned down on his dragon, pressing his cheek against the top of her scaly head. "It's just a little further east, girl. We'll be there soon. You'll see a biiig hos...." he yawned a lion's yawn, "hospital." Maybe a little nap was in order.

The Electivire chortled and strolled back over to his trainer with Kord sitting happily on his head. The purple haired girl was talking now, and Cable could tell she seemed a little...flustered, would probably be the best way to put it.

The tall boy put his hands up awkwardly when the Castform started bowing to him. "R-really, it was no trouble!" he laughed, "It's not a problem. I've been saving people for a while." Would fighting Team Magma count as saving a whole region? he wondered. Maybe he really should quit his journey and just be some kind of Pokemon Superhero. He looked over at Cable and pondered for a moment. Motor Drive! That's a sweet superhero name! He laughed internally to himself for a moment before Jenea dropped the 'd' word. His face turned bright red and he turned back to look at the girl.

"D-Date?" Kilik stammered for a moment, "I don't--I wouldn't say...that." He felt incredibly awkward for that moment and looked over at Katie and his Flareon, wondering how she was taking the remark. Not one to stick around when things got uncomfortable, Kilik mentioned something about "checking if Weezing was eating properly" and walked back over to his Pokemon, leaving Katie to handle the situation. Why did that bother me. That doesn't bother me. Things like that don't bother me. He approached his Flygon, still a little red in the face and hopped back onto her back, using her wing to provide a little shade. The two trainers still needed to get to Oreburgh, for sure.

Flareon started giggling and shifted a little so that his tail wasn't all up on Katie's face. Master sure was easy to fluster! Giving Katie a lick on the cheek, the fox hopped off and walked back over to the clearing of Pokemon, creeping up on the Buizel and lightly batting at one of his two tails. Fascinating! Two tails!

Cable, on the other hand, stood by Katie and shook his head a little. Kilik had no idea how to handle things sometimes. Considering he couldn't make much of an impact on how things played out, Cable just idled next to the orange haired girl, trying to look passed his forehead to see Kord but to no avail. His large red eyes looked down to Katie, a smile on his face. As usual.

"Ding!" chimed the cheerful sounding washer/dryer machine as it finished its job. Sasha popped open the door and pulled out Kasiya's clothes. It was a rush job and they were still in rough condition, but at least they got the smell out. Sasha did a sniff test. Mostly out. "And z'hey smell z'his all z'he time?" she said, sticking her tongue out. Sulfur was definitely not on her list of favorite odors. After Mike woke up, she was going to the spa.

Sasha folded Kasiya's clothes to the best of her ability, the result being less than stellar. She groaned in frustration. "Where's Bishop when you need him?" Then again, she thanked her lucky stars she didn't have her old wet-blanket butler follow her around. Grabbing her friend's clothes, Sasha made her way to the bathroom, electing to knock this time before entering. There Kasiya stood, all wrapped up like a cute little blond tortilla, running a brush through her hair. "We're getting you some new clothes after z'his." Sasha said, shaking her as she placed the pile on the counter. "Can't have you walking around in rags like z'hat." She nodded to the door. "I'll be right out z'here when you're all done." She gave Kasiya another gentle kiss on the head and excused herself to the waiting room. As she closed the door behind her, she noticed Winona sitting by Mike's bag, leaning forward and silently staring at the double doors to the emergency room. Must have just come in. the girl thought, walking over to the Gym Leader and sitting down next to her. Her helmet was carelessly tossed onto a nearby chair, her purple hair frayed and frizzy with neglect.

"Any word?" she asked, not taking her eyes off the door.

"Non." Sasha replied simply. "We made sure z'hey used special equipment for his...um...condition."

"What, a medium?" the gym leader said with a nervous scoff.

"Non, I mean, z'he fire." Sasha stumbled. "We didn't want him to get hurt...or hurt anyone."

"And what's that about?" Winona demanded. "I've known Mike for years, and he's never been able to do that! I've met psychics and mediums, and seen a fire-breather or two, but those are just performers. It was like it came from inside him. He's always been a bit of a pyro, but I'm sure I would have noticed him being a human furnace. Not to mention all those ghost things." she sighed, hanging her head. "He said he would explain everything to me, but now I'm just more confused than ever."

"We're all confused. A lot has happened today." Sasha said softly, putting a hand on Winona's shoulder, which she shrugged off. Even saying that was an understatement. In a few days, their friend had transformed so abruptly and dramatically that it was like they had never really known him in the first place. Even Flannery and Keegan were fooled, and they've been friends since they were kids. And now Winona too. Sasha reached into Mike's bag and pulled out the Moltres feather, hoping to maybe to clear a few things up. "He told me he met Moltres at some volcano in Kanto, and that it revived him."

"He...he died?" Winona broke her gaze and looked at the pink-haired girl and then at the glowing feather, her brow wrinkled with worry. "What happened?" she demanded, snatching it from her hand.

Sasha suddenly realized telling a worried girl that her friend may have died was a pretty dumb move, but she couldn't really back out now. "He, well, wasn't very specific. He said he fell down a cliff and that Moltres told him it wasn't his time yet, and brought him back. Ever since then, he's been all, fiery and smokey. Maybe that's what happened."

Winona swallowed nervously, shifting her focus back to the door, clutching the feather in her hand. "Just be okay, Mike. Just please be okay."

By the time Flannery and Keegan had returned, Karen was standing outside the Summers residence, a massive Charizard towering over her. The Dame was Nitro's mother, and made the powerful Charizard look like a Charmander in comparison. She had always been known for her stubborn attitude, but judging from her attentive pose, she seemed to have left behind, for now at least. All Karen needed to do to get her to cooperate was that that both their babies were in trouble, and she jumped to her feet faster than Mr. Summers had ever seen her move. The mothers stood in front of the breeding center, waiting for the red-heads to come back. Maintaining a stubborn-streak of his own, Keegan had barely come into sight before running off, blabbing about something or other.

"He'll come around." Karen said as Flannery called out for Keegan. "Mother's intuition. Trust me. Now hop on!" Not wasting any more time, Karen waited only long enough for Flannery to get settled in before ordering The Dame to take to the skies. "Our babies need us, Dame. Let's get a move on!" The Charizard let out a roar and unfurled her massive wings. After a quick stretch, she rocketed into the air, nearly knocking both her passengers off. Despite almost dying, Karen couldn't help but respect her sense of urgency.

The Ice Punch struck true and Misty smiled a little, knowing that Quagsire was much more capable of dealing with pain than her Goldeen had been. She liked the Water/Ground-types if only because they made for eager fighters, and after every battle, she would go with a swim with her beloved Pokemon and reward the Water Fish Pokemon with a berry or a poffin of some sort. Raticate had decided to gain some distance before Train ordered another attack, and the redhead wasn't so keen on letting that Normal-type's fangs sink into her Pokemon again, not when they had other means of attack. "Quagsire, go back into the water!" she called, and without a second thought, the large blue Pokemon slipped off the mat and dove into the water, away from Raticate, letting out a joyful cry as he did so.

"Now use your Water Gun attack," Misty said, watching Quagsire as her head bobbed back above the water and she stared at the Mouse Pokemon for a long moment before diving down again. The Water Fish Pokemon popped back up at another point, spraying a jet of water in Raticate's direction with a wide grin. The Cerulean gym leader was more curious to see how this round would turn out, now that she wasn't worried about any more Thundershocks or anything of the sort. Perhaps being more evenly matched would prove it to be an interesting bout.

"Yeah, it's... big," Jasper said after a moment or so, nodding slowly. "Big and... exciting. Busy." He was finding it difficult to make conversation with the younger boy, which was odd considering his silver tongue and ability to talk his way out of most situations. Perhaps that was the problem - he wasn't in trouble, he was just trying to make simple conversation with a friend. He thought of his previous statement of returning to Violet City and he wondered if he could manage to take on this Falkner character and win. There was a chilling cry in the distance and Jasper's ears perked up. Had that been Cindy, Scarlet's Quilava? The redheaded boy must have been out back, still training. Or was he battling someone? Jasper didn't know for sure.

He glanced at Jett as the dark-haired boy's stomach gave a weak growl, and Jasper smirked. He hadn't eaten in a while either, but that was just fine with him. He was used to skipping meals and he didn't feel even the slightest twinge of hunger, but he didn't feel like sharing that tidbit of information. He cast a glance towards the back as Jett mentioned Scarlet, but they both knew the redhead would find them when he was ready and he shook his head. "Nah, you go on ahead and eat. I think I'm gonna turn in for the night, I'm more tired than hungry." He gave the younger boy a sort of awkward pat on the back and they parted ways, with Jett heading for the cafe while Jasper made his way to the front desk. He couldn't quite quell the embarrassed feeling that overcame him and he sighed, unable to understand why he felt so stupid. Other trainers did this all the time, right? He rested his hand on the counter top and looked around. The nurse hadn't quite come back from treating the Pokemon yet so it meant he had a moment to compose himself.

And a moment it was, as what seemed like a split-second later, the cheerful young woman was making her way back to the desk. "Your Pokemon are all healed up," she said, and Jasper noticed a happier, healthier Koffing floating along behind her. When the poison type spotted the boy she let out a happy squeal and floated over to him. "Koffing is feeling much better too," the nurse said, smiling brightly. "I believe she's trying to thank you for bringing her here."

Jasper's nose wrinkled as the stench of the Pokemon once again assaulted his nostrils and he tried to push the excited and stinky creature away from him. "Yeah, she's welcome, no problem," he said, trying not to gag. If he hadn't been hungry before, any appetite he might have gained in the past few moments was quickly buried by an avalanche of nausea. Aside from his question of lodgings for the evening, another one had been weighing on his mind and he finally managed to get the Poison Gas Pokemon away from him by pushing her off him as though she were a putrid volleyball. "So, what's going to happen to her now?" he asked.

Hayley tried not to pay attention to her pouting Charmander, as every time she dared to make eye-contact with the lizard she was treated to a pitiful, soul-crushing and heartbreaking stare that could melt solid steel. She mentally apologized, trying to think of ways she could make it up to the fire type as she studied the other Charmander. Gigas seemed very psyched for this and she wondered which Pokemon Alexis would choose. Having missed the little game between the Abra and Larvitar, she was surprised to see the latter of the two making herself comfortable near Cynder, and Tisyphone and Mya exchanged glances, both aware of the Abra's ability to warp from place to place in the blink of an eye. That could, and likely would, make things difficult for them.

"So, how are we going to do this...?" Hayley asked, her unfamiliarity with battles and their etiquette getting the better of her. "Should we flip a coin or..." before she could finish, however, Mya, being the brave little thing she was, decided that she would be the first to make a move and she darted forward, a white light streaming out from behind her as she headed toward Blues with a Quick Attack. Tisyphone, while more reserved than her eager teammate, was definitely not a coward and she began to run toward Gigas, waiting until she was close before she reared up on her hind legs and tried to scratch at the Charmander with her claws.

Train was less than pleased with the current situation. She was, in fact, worried about whether or not Raticate could win this battle. Their opponent looked pretty sturdy, and it was so at ease slipping through the water or jumping around on the mats, unlike Goldeen, which would have been fairly helpless on land. Oddish—no, ********, Gloom was sort of like her ace in the hole at this point, but she had no idea what Misty’s other Pokémon were, and she could very well have another trumping dual-type on her.

She lifted just her heel and smacked it down hard against the floor as she watched Raticate’s jaw close on air.
”Tch…” He turned and hopped to the edge of the bad, glaring into the water after the Quagsire. It disappeared from sight and he backed up a few steps, looking left and right and trying to find the thing. Suddenly he was bombarded with a powerful stream on water, and he dug his claws into the mat to prevent himself from being forced off into the pool. Train had been thinking throughout this process of what her next move would be, and she’d finally decided on it.

”Raticate, use Focus Energy,” She said, loudly but firmly. The rat picked up his feet individually, pulling his claws from the floating bed before setting each of them down firmly and shooting the Quagsire another glare. His body became surrounded by a multitude of small, yellowy, glowing orbs, fur standing on end for a moment, before a few small lights shot up from him and the glow subsided, leaving the Raticate pumped and ready for his next attack.

"Come on, Rosemary! Snap out of it!" Kasiya called, knowing full-well that Riza would be wise enough to take advantage of the Meganium's confusion. The raven-haired girl did not disappoint, and she quickly sent her nasty Crawdaunt on the attack again, with another Brick Break on the way. Rosemary was way to out of it to think of countering it, but that very thought made Kasiya's eyes light up. Crawdaunt were all about physical attacks, which she knew quite well by now thanks to her many encounters with the horrible lobsters. Now, if only Rose's confusion would wear off...

The Meganium's cry of pain pierced her heart but Kasiya forced herself to remain strong. "Use Counter!" she nearly screamed, but all Rosemary could do was wail and fall to the ground, injuring herself further. Kasiya sighed and looked over at Karrigan's Onix as it was assaulted by a barrage of Magical Leaf from Amy's Bayleef. If only Rose could hang on, she knew they could win this. She just knew it. But something unexpected happened next, something that Kasiya would never, ever forget. She felt a strange sensation in her mind, like that time Sabrina had used her psychic powers to feed her the story of her supposed death. It wasn't like a headache, but the feeling wasn't pleasant either, and for a moment Kasiya felt the ground sway beneath her and she thought she would faint. This disoriented feeling was followed by a flash of light so bright she had to close her eyes. Just like that, everything seemed to return to normal, but now there was a strange weight in her arms. Kasiya opened her eyes and looked down, letting out a surprised squeal as she realized an egg - a Pokemon egg - had appeared in her arms out of thin air. It was warm and Kasiya could feel something moving beneath the shell, but rather than form words all she could do was sink to her knees, still squeaking as she held the egg close to her, her battle with Riza long forgotten.

Jake quickly smiled with relief when Jade simply said she owed Robin and he sighed, relaxing a little. As much as he'd liked Robin, she was way too cheerful and energetic for him, and though she wasn't exactly a ray of sunshine, Jade had a sort of realism about her that kept him grounded. He didn't know why, but he liked that. He blinked when she gave a short, almost sarcastic laugh at the mention of her home, but she didn't seem to want to elaborate on that. Though it piqued his curiosity he didn't question it, knowing better by this point to just let it be. The silence was long and almost uncomfortable, but they kept up their pace as they headed towards the sporting goods store. He was more than a little surprised to hear that he was the first person she'd met on her journey and he began to wonder how long she'd been on her own. Regardless, it made him smile and he looked at the ground as he walked, focusing on the measured steps he took, careful to cut them a little shorter so Jade could keep pace with him.

He wanted to tell her that it was all right, that friends weren't everything and that they were just fine on their own, but that odd sense of guilt shot through him again and he sighed. "Yeah, I'm sure we'll make plenty of friends," he agreed finally, grinning at the girl. There was something about her tone that made him second guess what she was saying, but he couldn't quite place it. "I mean, look at us. We're oh so very pretty. People will be lining up for miles to try and befriend us." He laughed, finding a somewhat rueful edge to it, and he sighed, realizing then that he didn't really want to make other friends. He liked Jade, and since his past was still a mystery to him, he didn't want to be tasked with trusting others not to flip out on him, as well.

He'd opened his mouth to say something along the lines of being happy with Jade as his only real friend at the moment when a flash of light made him stop in his tracks. For a second he was certain that he'd been struck by lightning and he staggered back, landing unceremoniously on his rear. "What the..." he started but the light flashed again and suddenly something appeared in his lap, emitting a quiet hum. "Is this... an egg?"

Though it was a battle and there was supposed to be no hard feelings, Karrigan couldn't help but feel bad when she saw how poor Flora had been utterly rocked by Aegeus' attack. Even still, she was impressed with the power her Onix had displayed, even though she knew using his Dig technique again would only provide Amy with another opportunity to have Bayleef use Synthesis again and erase all the damage they had done. The call was made for another Magical Leaf and Karrigan sighed, knowing she couldn't defend against the no-miss move. "Okay, Aegeus! Use Rock Tomb again!" she called, knowing it would cut Flora's speed, at the very least, and make her significantly easier for her last Pokemon to deal with. The Onix's tail, bearing the cuts from where the Razor Leaf had hit him, made heavy impact against the ground, causing a crown of spikes to erupt from it once again.

Meanwhile, the unerring leaves had no trouble seeking out their target and Aegeus roared in pain though it would only last a moment. It was clear the Onix couldn't go on, and as he started to fall, Karrigan quickly recalled him, fearing for the safety of everyone in the vicinity. She smiled over at Amy as she clipped the ball back on her belt, and in the same second, released her third and final Pokemon, Lennier. "Confusion!" she called, and the Kadabra held up his Twistedspoon, instantly relaying a concentrated blast of psychic energy at the Bayleef. He didn't wait to see if it would hit, however, instead pausing and looking around almost expectantly. He turned to Karrigan, giving her a knowing look before he glanced over at the blonde girl and pointed with a spoon, seemingly indicating for both Karrigan and Amy to watch.

How Lennier had known that a Pokemon egg would suddenly appear in the arms of a very surprised and unprepared Kasiya was a mystery to Karrigan, but she found her mouth gaping open and her feet starting to carry her in the direction of the blonde, very interested in how this had happened.

Barbie, regardless of how evenly matched Kenny the Dusclops and her Tangrowth seemed to be, was utterly confident in her abilities. That giant creepy ghost thing didn't stand a chance, especially considering that this Dante kid didn't seem to know contests all that well, underground or not. She'd heard him call out for Ice Beam and she knew she could easily deflect it. What she wasn't expecting, however, was for someone in the crowd to release a Jynx and have it unleash a powerful Blizzard onto the battlefield, not only inflicting massive damage on Tangrowth but increasing the strength of Kenny's Ice Beam. When it was all said and done Tangrowth was a frozen block of a Pokemon, the newly added weight of the ice causing it to break the beam it was on and crash down into the pool of water below.

The squeal uttered from Barbie rivaled the screech of most Pokemon in existence and she was quickly recalling him, namely to get him out of the water. The fall had caused most if the ice to break apart but it was clear that the Tangrowth could no longer continue. She scowled up at the crowd, but after a moment smiled surprisingly warmly over at Dante. "Congratulations, pretty boy. You're much better at this than I thought." She winked suggestively and blew him a kiss before she turned and exited the arena. She had no intentions of watching this kid receive his rewards.

Surge allowed a small sigh to escape him as his Electabuzz managed to escape this time, but he knew he couldn't hesitate. Crenu and his Pupitar were a couple of tough nuts and it would be difficult to crack 'em. "Get in there and use Cross Chop," he called. "No holdin' back, eh!" Electabuzz gave a roar and began to charge forward, sparks flaring from his body. It seemed like a trait the Electric-type couldn't control. His arms were raised high as he sped toward his opponent, though the static did remind Surge that he could still paralyze their opponent. The harsh Sandstorm ordered by Crenu caused both trainer and Pokemon some immediate discomfort, but Electabuzz pressed on. As he neared his opponent he reared back both palms, ready to chop into this Pupitar and show him a thing or two. He was no pushover, and this match was not over yet!

"All right," Jett replied after a beat, flashing the older boy a small smile. "I'll see you tomorrow, then. G'night." He wondered again about the Koffing Jasper had in tow, but he supposed his questions would be answered in the morning. With another fleeting smile, he ducked his head and left, feeling a strangely relieved at the prospect of being alone again, though there was also some sense of sadness. He had always been the youngest, always been the quietest, always been independent in his ways, but now that he had friends, he wondered if he was doing things wrong, if he had become difficult to socialize with. But that was his own mind, twisting things again, and he dismissed the entire issue, figuring that Jasper probably really was tired and would just have a big breakfast tomorrow. The raven-haired youth continued into the near-empty Azalea cafeteria, there being only a few trainers that were finishing their meals as he walked in. It was a calm, quiet little town, and he liked it that way.

Jett collected a small amount of food, just some pasta dish he thought looked good and a piece of bread to go along with the can of soda he collected from the cooler. He sat down and stared at his food, listening for a moment to just the inner-workings of the Pokecenter, the hum of the ovens and the whirring of the machines that healed the Pokemon and the clack of the other trainers setting their trays above the trash bin before they left him alone in the room. It was a strange feeling, not altogether unpleasant, just mostly awkward. But he didn't have to eat alone, he realized. Instead of waiting until a little while later, Jett stood and left his tray unoccupied for the moment, instead collecting four dishes and filling them with Pokemon food. He set them out carefully near his seat and released his Pokemon all at once. "Everyone," he began quietly, thinking it would seem weird to talk loudly when he was by himself, "this is Naja. She's the newest part of our team." The Ekans in question did not pay any attention to her teammates, only glaring at River once before she turned to the bowl set out before her and began to eat ravenously. After a brief pause, Aerosmith huffed and turned to his own food, while Athena and River silently did the same. Jett watched with a slightly wearied expression, wishing that his team would lighten up a bit.

As he sat down, turning back to his own food, he felt something odd tingling in his head. An instant later, and River was turning, knocking his barely-touched food aside as he stared at his trainer. Jett opened his mouth to say something, but then there was a bright flash and a strange pressure. He wanted to sit up but instead gripped the edges of the table, as if to anchor himself. His eyes squeezed shut but after a moment in which there was nothing but silence, not even the sound of his Pokemon eating, he opened them again. In his lap sat a Pokemon egg, deposited from seemingly nowhere. "Holy mother of--" he gasped, staring with wide eyes at this new development. Bracing himself for another attack (perhaps someone meant to hit him in the head and just missed), he looked around the cafe and found no one and nothing that was depositing eggs. Reassured that he was definitively not going to be assaulted again, his attention returned to the egg, fingers carefully splaying over the hard, smooth shell. "...Huh."

Misty smirked at her challenger's slight frustration, knowing how annoying it must be for other trainers to come in and be forced to use a pool as the battlefield in order to earn their badge. Well, she wasn't about to just hand them out, and she always loved seeing how different trainers reacted and adapted to their new environment. Train in particular seemed to be handling the battle well, at least she had with her Pikachu. Raticate was a much more physical Pokemon and it must be hard, working in a place where Water-types had dominion. Still, she was making do, and so would Misty. "Quagsire, Mud Shot!" she ordered, intent on keeping the Water Fish Pokemon in the water and at a distance if it was possible. The Water/Ground-type surfaced again and quite happily spat out a small blob of mud that hurtled for the Mouse Pokemon. Let's see how she deals with that, the redhead thought, wanting to see what her latest challenger had in mind.

"All right then! Find my pokemon a treat!" Robin was practically vibrating with excitement. Who could blame her though? She had just won a tough gym battle with the super amazing Gardenia and her pokemon had proved just how awesome they were! Plus Luffy got his gym battle! Everything was looking up for her now! All she needed to do was win was four more battles and she would be able to take Ampersand up north so he could do his job. Plus she was proving herself a capable trainer. She was learning more everyday now. Maybe she could take on the gym challenge with this. The thought of her even seeing the pokemon league almost caused her to faint from joy. She couldn't even help the little happy prance she did. Unfortunately the happy little dance did prevent her from seeing the giant statue in front of her and she ran right into it.

"Ouch!" She muttered rubbing her face and looking up at what she had run into. "Hmm. What is that? Some kind of pokemon?" Robin wasn't exactly sure, now that she looked at it it kinda looked like two pokemon actually. One had four legs and tons of pointy stuff on it while another stood on two legs and looked more sleek then the other. Getting up Robin put her hands on her hips and frowned slightly looking up at it. "Well, whatever weird statue, I need to go find food for my pokemon. They really deserve it for working so hard you know." Robin didn't really know why she was talking to these statues but she did feel like she needed to tell them. Right when she was about to turn around she saw a flash of light and was momentarily blinded and suddenly felt herself weighted down in a way she hadn't felt in a long time. In fact it had been her first experience with her own pokemon.

When she could finally see her suspicions were confirmed. It was an egg! "Egg!"" Robin shouted intelligently as she looked down at the first egg she had gotten since she had Luffy. "What are you doing with me little egg?" She asked peering at it curiously. "Where did you come from anyway?" Looking around she tried to see if anyone had accidentally thrown it at her or... or something. No one was around though and she really had no idea where this egg had come from. Looking behind her she looked with wide eyes at the statues behind her. "Did this egg come from you?" If it did come from them then it was a great gift. "I don't know why you guys gave me this egg but I promise I will take care of it!" She didn't really even know what these pokemon were but she was going to honor whoever chose to give her this by taking care of this egg to the best of her abilities. Hugging it close to her chest she felt it almost click inside of her the instant love she had with all of her pokemon.

Walking away the egg clutched to her chest and receiving the unending love and pride Robin felt for all of her pokemon. The egg almost made her forget but she still had to find a place for her pokemon to eat! It took a while but eventually Robin came across a place that would feed her team and they would all like it. Skipping back to the pokemon center Robin continued to snuggle with the egg as she came through the sliding glass doors. She didn't even make it to the counter when she was swarmed by her team who Nurse Joy had apparently let out of their pokeballs for the check up. "Hahaha! Hey guys! I am glad to see you to but you need to be careful. I have a baby on board!" Robin laughed a bit at her cleaver joke as she bent down at showed the team her unexpected gift.

"Oh my! Where did you get that?" Nurse Joy asked as she approached feeling better that the group of rambunctious pokemon hadn't left to go attack someone.

"I dunno. It just appeared in when I was in front of that giant statue."

"It must be a gift then. You should be very honored to have received it! Unfortunatly I do need to spoil your joy and enforce the pokemon league rules. You can only have six pokemon in your party miss. Who are you going to put away?"

"Put away..."Robin felt herself freeze a bit. She had never put her pokemon away like this before. Oh sure when they were hurt she sent them away but she had never done it when they were all healthy. She didn't want to send any of her friends away. What was she going to do?

Dante could not believe his luck. Because this was something that absolutely did not ever happen to him. He never had good fortune like this. He was sort of in a state of shock when they asked him what he wanted for his prize and received it. He went through the motions of accepting it and the praise they unloaded on him and Kenny. A thought had occured to him which had caused him to freeze up like this. He never had good luck. He had come to the conclusion that he was so good at battles and had an amazing win to lose record only because of his terrible luck outside of battles. So if he had won like this then, what sort of horrible thing was going to happen to him for him to pay for this one.

When he was outside and hugged by both Leo and Angelic he finally snapped out of it. "Thanks so much for the help with this guys. I never would have gotten this without you."

"Of course you wouldn't. I am surprised you even made it past the first round." Leo gave him a look that was clearly insulting of him but also pretty proud as well.

"Oh nonsense. Kenny was a fantastic pokemon to train. It is all due to your training skills that he absorbed what I had to teach so quickly." Angelic though was proud of him and gave him a delicate smile underneath those long blond spiral curls.

"Anyway can I talk to you alone later?" They both asked him at the same time. The two of them shot the other a surprised look at the question but shrugged it off. The other clearly wasn't going to ask what they were.

Dante himself gave them a look but shrugged it off. "Sure, let me get Kenny healed and checked out by Nurse Joy first. Maybe we could get some breakfast or something to?" Dante didn't really trust the machine inside to heal his pokemon as good as Nurse Joy did. Plus the sun was up now and he really hadn't eaten in a while. With that he waved them a goodbye for the moment and he headed towards the red roofed building giant Dusclops walking next to him and mystical evolving item in his arms.

Amy felt her spirits beginning to rise when she saw that the Magical Leaf had hit true, knowing that with the Grass-type move being super effective over the Rock/Ground-type, it wouldn't take too many more attacks to win them this round. But it seemed that Flora was stronger than she'd expected, since Aegeus was beginning to collapse and Karrigan recalled him a moment later. The Rock Tomb seemed to cut off short without its controller, but Flora still avoided the straightforward path of the rock pillars. Instead, she turned to face Lennier and immediately felt wary, knowing that Psychic-types were difficult to deal with, especially the ones that teleported all around like the Abra line. She couldn't see the Confusion very well, it being only a small ripple in the atmosphere, and when it struck her, she let out a surprised cry. Amy began to think of her next move when she saw the Kadabra's attention shift, as well as his trainer's, towards the other battle. She turned, curious to see what was happening, and found that the blonde girl had sunk to her knees, a Pokemon egg in her hands.

Glancing towards Karrigan curiously, as if to check that Kasiya had always had an egg, she saw that the redhead was moving towards the other girls. Amy followed suit, Flora right at her side, over to the trainer she didn't know, still keeping a slight distance, as she didn't want to crowd her. "W-what happened?" she asked quietly, glancing up at Riza and her Crawdaunt, and then at Meganium, looking all around as if someone would produce answers. She couldn't remember the blonde cradling an egg when she had first seen her. The Bayleef cooed softly at her side, attention more focused on the Meganium than the egg, though she did feel a slight disturbance in the air. She only thought of Psychic-types again and glanced at Lennier, wondering if the Psi Pokemon had any reasonable explanation for what had just happened.

"Oh, I already knew that. We're gorgeous," Jade said with a mock-haughty tone, turning her nose up at the air and finding her attitude lightening as she joked around. Being with Jake was getting easier than she expected; he didn't seem very judgmental or cruel and he always somehow said something that would inevitably make her feel better. She smiled faintly, a truer smile than before, as they walked along, but then something seemed to be glowing brighter. Jade squinted, checking back to see if Jake had released his Magnemite or something of the sort, when she was blinded by the flash of light and stumbled back herself, hoping she wasn't about to trample Aquarius. But the Psyduck wisely stepped to the side, letting out a concerned quack as he followed Jade.

"What the hell?" she demanded, rubbing at her eyes furiously until she felt she was capable of sight again. But when she opened her eyes, the blonde had a Pokemon egg sitting in his lap. Jade's mouth hung agape. "But you... you didn't..." Unable to articulate a point she could not think of, she simply stared at the egg in surprise until she felt something herself. It was like an instinct, her hands reaching out in front of her, palms flat as they faced upwards, and then the flash was back, blinding her again when she felt a heavy presence in her hands before she felt it slip. She scrambled furiously, fingers trying to find purchase on something with no traction and slipping from her standing position in the effort. She landed hard on one knee before she clutched at her own egg, holding it tightly to her chest only by instinct, feeling its warmth. The raven-haired girl opened her eyes again and looked at Jake, then at the eggs. For once, she was actually speechless.

'Maybe we're going to win this after all," Riza thought, now certain that Kasiya's meganium was all confused. She hated to attack the poor thing when it seemed so defenseless, but if she was going to become top coordinator, she had to push aside thoughts like that. She had to capitalize on every advantage. Diemia's Brick Break had scored a direct hit and she wondered how many more it would take to bring the grass-type down. If it was able to pull off another Petal Dance, or even Magical Leaf, she was sure her Crawdaunt would fall.

"All right, we can do this," she whispered to herself. Out of the corner of her eye she saw the red headed girl's Onix fall to Amy's Bayleef and she smiled. Flora had certainly grown strong. "Diemia, use...." but the raven haired girl's voice trailed off as something very strange was suddenly happening. She saw Kasiya's eyes go blank for a moment and it looked as though she was going to fall. "Kasiya?" she called, not wanting to see the blonde get hurt, even if she had chosen her as a rival. The flash of light was bright, and it reminded Riza of a Pokemon evolving. When it faded, Kasiya was holding an egg in her arms and Riza just stopped and stared. Where had that egg come from? She looked over at Amy and Karrigan, noting that the red head now had a Kadabra under her control and it seemed to sense something in the air. Had the psychic-type known something strange was going to happen?

Riza lightly touched Yula's poke ball, wondering what had just happened. Then very suddenly, her world began to spin, while at the same time it felt like her mind was being tugged in the other direction. She opened her mouth to call for help but no words came out, and instead the light came again and she closed her eyes, falling to the ground and hugging her knees to her chest. She didn't know what was going on, but she certainly didn't like it. She felt a warmth in her chest just then and she found herself able to breathe normally again. The dizziness was gone. The world had stopped spinning. And cradled in Riza's arms, giving off warmth was an egg, not unlike the one that had just appeared to Kasiya. "Wha.....what is going on?" she asked, though it wasn't likely that she would get an answer.

Jenea's comment had been a bit unexpected, but it only made Katie smirk, especially when she saw Kilik's embarrassment. She'd fully expected for him to go along with it or something like that, but instead he'd decided to make himself scarce, and she frowned. Katie didn't know why, but his reaction stung a little, perhaps he didn't really see her as date material. She was fairly young and a little short for her age, but she shrugged it off. 'Whatever, let him be that way.' She lost her balance a little as Flareon hopped down and darted away, but she smiled after the Flareon, wishing she could raise one of her own. "No, we're not on a date," she told Jenea, smiling. "We're just a couple of trainers showing off our Pokemon, is all." But the girl was already walking away, and Katie tilted her head. "Wait, where are you going?" she called, confused by Jenea's sudden exit.

Miles didn't seem to notice the fox sneaking up on him and he let out a sharp growl as he suddenly felt a yank on one of his tails. The Buizel spun around, whipping his twin tails as he did so and unleashing a Sonic Boom at the offending tail attacker. As he came to land, he felt his energy start to reach its peak and a funny feeling came over him. A bright, white light seemed to spread out from his every pore and Miles let out a startled cry. He had no idea what was going on! The commotion had caught Katie's attention and she turned just in time to see the light spread over Miles. "No way, he can't be, can he? Already?" But her question would soon be answered as the light died away and her little Buizel was no more. Instead, now there was a taller, fiercer looking Floatzel in his place and he let out a cry, able to feel his new strength. "Miles...you evolved into Floatzel!" Katie cried, running over to her Pokemon and throwing her arms around him. "This is so great, I'm so proud of you!"

During the chaos that was Miles' evolution, no one but Genki seemed to notice a strange light, similar to the light coming from the Buizel, now emanating from Katie's bag, which had been left on the ground nearby. The Monferno wandered over to it and peeked inside, amazed to find himself nose to nose with the round, smooth and warm shell of an egg, not unlike the one Kord had hatched from a while ago. The Monferno scratched his head, trying to figure out when Katie had picked up an egg and he hadn't noticed? How very strange indeed.

Put one of her pokemon away? How could she choose? Her pokemon were all of her friends and she didn't want to seperate from any of them! Clutching the egg closer to herself she felt a momentary spike of anger at it before she pushed it away. She wasn't going to get mad at this egg for making her send one of her friends away. It wasn't the eggs fault. This was just part of a pokemon trainers journey, she would have come to this point eventually. Looking at her team she gave them all a sad look and they each gazed at her with understanding looks. They all seemed to understand her dilemma and were doing their best to make things easy on her. Closing her eyes Robin thought about her team and what the up coming challenges were. Who was eager to battle, who did she feel the most comfortable with? She needed to get these gym badges and who would help her the most? Finally she made up her mind.

"Brook. I want you to spend some time with Professor Rowan." She knew that the Jumpluff's power and type would be a good advantage for the next gym but she wasn't the most comfortable with his fighting style. It was her fault on that and she would have to work on it. It also helped that the Jumpluff was not much of a fighter and preferred for her not to send him into battle. Maybe she should use him for those contest things? "I don't want you to be idle while you are there though. Practice your moves. Next time we are in Kanto I am entering you into a contest and I expect to win." She gave the grass pokemon a smile. Handing the egg over to Ace she scooped the Jumpluff into her arms and gave him a hug before putting him back into his pokeball.

Heading over to the machine Robin placed the pokeball on the transfer slot and selecting her destination she hit send and watched as one of her friends went away. Sniffling slightly she did her best to not cry. This day was always going to come sometime, it just didn't make it hurt any less. She tried to remind herself that she was going to see him again, this wasn't goodbye forever. That thought in mind she turned around and looked at her mismatched, and now smaller group. Ace dutifully holding the egg in his hands, Black*Star growling at Ace, Slowpoke had just arrived and was staring at her with a doopy look that made her grin a bit, Raz's large body and huge wings were standing over the group in a sort of protective manor. Luffy though, her first and best friend was giving her a serious look and the two stared at each other for a moment before the Ambipom nodded and ran over to her leaping up and landing on her shoulder. "Ugh you're getting to big for this Luffy." Robin muttered her voice breaking a bit but she was feeling better. Her team had approved of this and were of course there to support her.

Heading back over, letting the Ambipom stay on her shoulder Robin bent down and scooped the egg up into her arms. "Come on let us go get your victory lunch. Raz could you carry Slowpoke for me? I don't seem to have the arms to carry him at the moment, if he walked we would be finished by the time he made it there." She laughed a bit at that. The large Yanmega nodded and latching a few feet on the bubblegum pink pokemon he took off following behind his trainer and outside to Eterna City.

Nurse Joy had cleared Kenny after just a moment of inspection, though she had commented on his size. Kenny was unusually big for a Dusclops and the ghost pokemon made a very intimidating sight. They found out again just how intimidating as they sat down in the pokemon center cafeteria. Dante had gathered a large bowl of pokemon food for Kenny and a bowl of cereal for himself. The room had practically cleared out by the time they sat down. The Dusclops was happily eating his provided food while Dante poured the milk into this bowl of some random sugary breakfast food. "So I have to trade you for this evolution Kenny." Dante muttered as he took a bite looking over at the ghost type and motioning to the cloth that was folded neatly on the table. The ghost pokemon just looked over and nodded at Dante. "Of course you can choose to evolve any time you want to, I just wanted to get the option there for you. Still I was thinking that there really is only one person who deserves to be the one I would trade you to. What do you think about going over Keegan for that?"

The large pokemon seemed to brighten up at that notion. Other then Dante, Keegan was the other trainer he spent the most time around. He had even briefly belonged to the redhead. Yes it would be nice to see the other boy again! He was about to eat some more of his meal when a bright light shined from seemingly no where and a loud splash was heard as well as a groan.

"Fantastic." Dante muttered as he was blinded and now suddenly wet. When he could see again he was greeted with a sight that was a bit confusing. "Erm." He intelligently stated. There in his bowl of cereal, he was covered in milk from the splash, was an egg. "Doesn't Angelic have my egg still?" Dante muttered as he looked at the cereal and milk covered egg in his bowl. "I don't remember getting it back. This one looks different to..." He trailed off as he picked the pokemon egg up.

At his side Kenny leaned over curiously as his trainer wiped the milk off of him as best as he could. Suddenly he heard a groan coming from the auburn haired boy. "Great, now I have two!" Two eggs, both of which would probably never hatch. He had bad luck with eggs and hatching them in any timely manner.

"Oh, she'll probably stay here, with me," the nurse asked, smiling at the Koffing-in-question. "I'm sure a trainer will want to adopt her eventually, but for now, she has a home here. Unless, of course, you want to adopt her? You did find her, and bring her here, after she was abandoned and left all alone..."

The nurse's smile was so wide and bright that Jasper thought for a moment he might go blind, and he was sure she was intentionally trying to make him feel bad for the poor creature and take her himself. "She was all alone because she was abandoned," Jasper almost snapped, but he managed to keep his tone in check. After all, he was about to inquire about rooms for the evening and he didn't want to upset the person that would likely be assigning them, as he didn't want to wind up in the room with the noisy AC or the wobbly ceiling fan, or worse. "I'm really not looking for more Pokemon to raise at the moment," he said, offering the nurse and Koffing an apologetic smile. "Sorry, girl. I'm sure you'll find someone to take care of you soon." He patted the poison type on her, err, head, trying not to feel guilty, and failing miserably. "So, do you have rooms for trainers spending the night or...?"

A few minutes later Jasper was heading down the hall, holding a somewhat-worn keycard in his hand. Every two or three steps he was stifling yawns and he couldn't get over just how exhausted he felt. Then again, he had been awake for what felt like forever and he'd experienced a lot today. He fumbled with the door for a few moments, too sleepy to realize he'd been holding the card upside down so the magnetic stripe was on the wrong side and even when he corrected this, the door didn't feel like cooperating. The boy was just about to give up and curl up in front of the door for the night when the angry little red light flashed a much happier green and the door clicked open. Jasper practically stumbled into the room, closing the door behind him and hardly bothering to take in his new surroundings before he tossed the ratty rucksack into the corner, followed quickly by his jacket, shirt, trousers and shoes. He realized that he probably should be getting his clothes washed at some point as they were probably a bit overdue, and he sniffed at himself before deciding that cleaning himself could wait until tomorrow.

He'd flopped down on the bed and tried to get himself comfortable, but he could already sense a problem creeping up on him. Jasper sighed and tried to ignore it as he rearranged the pillows and squirmed under the sheets, and after a while he started to drift off, only to awaken moments later. No matter what he did, he just couldn't get himself to a position where he could fall asleep, and after about two hours, he realized the problem:

The bed was just too damned comfortable.

The egg sat motionless in his lap, though when his hand rested on the shell, he swore he could feel something twitching inside. "I don't understand," Jett mumbled, to no one in particular, but then remembered that River had turned to stare at him a moment before everything happened. He glanced at the Kirlia. "River, do you know what happened?" The Psychic-type paused and then disappeared from sight, reappearing a few feet away with the use of his Teleport move. "I didn't think you could teleport eggs." At this, River shook his head and shrugged. He only knew that he would have to hold onto an object to teleport it, and even then, he would come attached. The dark-haired boy studied the egg a moment longer, finger tracing the small little circles that were patterned across the otherwise plain shell. "What if it belonged to someone...? I don't want to... I dunno. Be an indirect thief."

Speaking of indirect thieves (well, not so much with the indirect part, but much so with the thief part), Naja was the only one unperturbed by the disturbance, and thus hadn't turned away from her food and continued to eat whilst River, Athena, and Aerosmith all turned to their trainer with concern. Once her bowl was clear in a surprising amount of time, the snake began to sneak bites from all three of the other bowls, and when Jett spotted her, he cried out and all other Pokemon turned towards the Ekans. "Naja, don't," Jett began, raising his voice, "you shouldn't do that!" But Naja only hissed in response and continued to eat, particularly from the dish River had knocked aside in his abrupt movements. He didn't want to recall her, because then only resentment would grow between the team, so he slowly moved toward the Snake Pokemon. She turned her eyes upon her trainer and hissed again, baring her fangs, but in an instant, she was blasted away, sent flying across the room. River stared at Naja with narrowed eyes, prepared to use another Confusion attack if necessary. Athena bristled and Aerosmith drifted upwards, his sudden calmness more alarming than his usual belligerence. Jett shifted the egg to one arm as he held up a hand, looking between Naja and the rest of his Pokemon as his heart began to race. "E-everyone just calm down! It's all right!"
