[[Beam - Miss Damage - 5 ]]
Bela stared, it ate..... a terrorist. The Whale ate a Terrorist. Ohhh this was such an awesome plot twist for a story. Oh wait.... what was that.... beam thing. Bela decided it would be a good idea to attempt to dodge that. Granted how to avoid being hit by that was uh... not something that was explainable. So the Storyteller did what she normally does best. She ran around like she was being chased by someone(s). Obviously normally entertaining it was probably a bit unorthodox on the road.
Second problem... was attacking the whale. "Uh......" she was looking around when she noticed she had a small bag of fake-gold coins still on her belt. She was looking around and managed to find her way back to Roxy before throwing fake-gold coins at the whale. "I wonder if this classifies as a bad day for these terrorists or a good one..." She was more talking to no one than anyone but she didn't mind if anyone answered.

Amy was very happy for the hug from Regina. It was confirmation that the three of them were still alive. She didn't get much time to enjoy it, as the whale suddenly seemed ready for its next attack. These Zodiacs rushed in, and suddenly one of them was...gone?
It made everything seem different. Honestly, Amy had been more worried about Regina and Jocelin, but that seemed so selfish now. Someone was trapped, or dead now. Cancer.
She struggled onto her feet, her knees a little shaky. There were bits of the road that had been shattered in the blast still lying around, and she snatched one up to throw it at the whale when it got close. It didn't really do much, but it sure as hell made her feel like she was doing something against this bully-whale.

This... This was some <******** crazy s**t. Prior to this particular experience, Regina would have liked to have said that she'd seen it all; that she believed it all. She'd seen a horse fly. She'd seen a house fly, and yeah, maybe she'd never seen an elephant fly, but she thought it could be possible. Regina Faith believed the unbelievable, expected the unexpected. The truth was out there, as far as she was convinced...
But nothing, nothing at all, had prepared her for this.
"Bring it you purple ceros shooting son of a potted plant." She huffed as she took a leaf from Jocelin's book, pulling off one of her simple little shoes to chuck in the direction of the great, big space whale. There was no way a Hopewell was just going to sit back and take this s**t. No. Freaking. Way.
"Missed me!"

No, seriously, Fritz thought. Why are we fighting a WHALE?
He had given a grateful smile to the guy that had suddenly appeared next to him, still stretching out his hand towards the nearest woman to help, but his rather meager attempts at this were somewhat thwarted by the whale.
It had swallowed someone, and Fritz was trying very hard not to be completely horrified by this. He felt a mad sort of morbid amusement at the glowing outline of the girl, visions of cartoon animals doing this exact same thing dancing in his head, but one quick thought of their overall situation made him feel horribly ashamed of himself for even going in that direction - even if it was pulled from the crazy, panicky recesses of his mind.
Especially since said whale was now opening it's enormous mouth again.
"Whoops, time to move!"
He and Ian seized Marienrode first, yanking her upwards, then quickly proceeded to haul Sheila somewhat unceremoniously from the pit as well.
"YOU'RE WELCOME!" Fritz shouted back to Marienrode.
Fortunately, in their attempts, both he and the older woman had somehow managed to skirt the massive blast that erupted from the whale's gaping mouth, though the floor trembled beneath his feet. He gave Marienrode a salute to show his thanks, then proceeded to duck down, untie his shoe, and pelt it full force at the damned creature.
That, of course, hardly did anything, but it made Fritz feel just the tiniest bit better inside.
[ Dodged the attack! 2 damage! ]

" You're welcome," he answered to his teacher's loud thanks, before noticing that the whale seemed to be coming back for a second shot. " Seriously?" Maybe this was a dream, or a weird alter universe, because stuff like this only happened in video games, and generally only as a boss battle. Oh well. Once again, he avoided the whale's beam, and when he heard the shout that Cancer, who must be one of this universes inhabitants, had been taken, knew that he needed to do something. Others seemed to be attacking the whale, and that seemed like a decent enough idea. He searched his pockets for anything that might be of use, and finding nothing, he pulled off one of his shoes. It wasn't the most ideal weapon, but it thunked against the whale. (6 damage) " Take that, you fish."

Felicia couldn't hear anything above the ringing in her ears. Not her own voice as she screamed for help, and not the voice of Felix as he knelt beside the jagged edge of the hole to offer her down a hand. She didn't need to hear him to realize he was trying to save her though, and she groped at his hand with one of her own until she could wrap small fingers around his palm. Clinging to him even as she continued to try to haul herself up, not that she was having much luck of it. She simply wasn't that strong of a person.
To her great surprise the stranger with the cat ears and tail appeared beside the other boy and reached down to grab her other arm, and together the two of them were able to pull her up and back to safety. She still couldn't hear anything, but she watched as the cat boy's lips moved as he spoke, nodding numbly without realizing what she was agreeing to. It was terrifying being deaf, more so not knowing if it was permanent or not, and she couldn't help but turn wide, frightened eyes up to Felix. Squeezing the hand she hadn't been willing to release just yet. Her other hand raising to press against her ear. "I can't hear anything."
She couldn't hear, but she could see, and what she saw over the older boy's shoulder had pale eyes widening. "It's coming back, we have to run!" She was on her feet and tugging at both Felix and Zue's hands before she'd even finished speaking.
Not nearly quick enough though. She lost her grip on the guardian as something hit her and Felix, and she stumbled as the everything seemed to tilt to the side. Grabbing onto the college student's arms as she tumbled sideways onto the path. Blinking in dazed confusion as the colorful road beneath them seemed to twist and roll out into space.

Managing to avoid being hit, Hawke's eyes widened as she saw her companion take a blow...and then proceed to blather nonsense. Well. More nonsense then normal for him anyway. As he cast cone of cold, (at least he could cast), Hawke knew what time it was. It's was mob boss time. "Anders! Anders! This isn't Act Three yet!" She figured this might as well be Act Two. Fade Space. "Look, it's-" Well what could it be? "******** it Anders it's a Pride Demon." There simple. Pride demon. Large and ******** scary as balls. Undoing the strap the held her flimsy boffering LARP sword, Hawke was going go two handed on this b***h.
"FOR THE FREE MARCHES!"
Hawke wished she had a rune slot for the Master Rune of '+10 damage to Fade Pride Demon Whales'.

Steven was still trying to wince away his headache when he noticed some people picking up rocks and hurling them at the whale. Wait, did that thing just eat one of the Zodiac people?
Very awkwardly and somewhat unsure of himself, he grabbed for a rock, lifted it over his head, intending to fling it with all his might at the space whale.
Not that it did much. He was hit by the beacon and immediately dropped it when everything warped in a dizzying fashion and changed colors. Odd shapes swirled around him and he found himself trying to chase and swat at objects that weren't there, making him putter around in a strange, zig zagged line, randomly pouncing with no regard for his other civilian comrades attempting to fight the whale. Actually, he couldn't really see them, their forms replaced by various other objects ominously standing around. Oh god, what was happening?

The silence was oppressive. They said that in space, nobody can hear you scream. She was finding out first-hand how true it was as she clung to the ledge with one hand, her lips moving. She couldn’t hear herself speak. She could barely think. She could... she could... Oh god, I’m going to die aren’t I?!Sheila’s throat felt raw and sore, the rainbow road becoming nothing more than a blur of colors. She blinked; the tears spilled from her eyes as she sobbed, deaf to Marienrode’s instructions. But -- there! “Help me,” she whispered, looking up as Fritz and Ian appeared. “Help me, help me, helpmehelpmehelpme helpme!” She was crying again as she reached up with her spare hand, grabbing and offered hand and struggling to pull herself up. With much flailing she was up and out of the pit, and didn’t waste time retreating as far as she could from said pit. Sheila didn’t notice that one of the senshi she was so awestruck over earlier was taken. All she wanted to do was find a place to hide, and put as much distance between her and the space whale as she could! Her flight saved her from hallucinogenic wave -- it missed her completely. (( Sheila is too cowardly to attack! ))

Uh oh. Callum had that look on his face! The one he got whenever things got too germy, too dirty for him. Layton was rather proud of him for even throwing those cough drops, but it was obvious he needed some air. Or ... vacuum. Wait why was there air in space?
Layton shook her head. There were too many weird things going on to be focused on why there was air in space. She just chalked it up to another one of those weird things. Pushing through the crowd with both Felix and Callum in tow, she found a nice spot away from the general mass of people and then grabbed both of Callum's hands.
"Callum. It's okay. I'm right here. I'm n-not going to be eaten by ... well nevermind. I'm right here." She began stroking one of his hands very lovingly, like how a grandma might pet a cat.
Felix ... Felix was another matter entirely. "Uhm ... I d-don't... I'm not a cupcake ... a-at least I don't think I am ... umm ..." She looked at Callum now and then back at Felix. "He's not poking me with ... Felix, do you need to rest too?"
Maybe that was what they all needed. A little rest to catch their breath. So they could understand why they were fighting a space whale. And why someone was eaten. And why there was a talking cat lady. And why God had visited them and been very relaxed about the whole thing. Layton was starting to breath heavily too now.

Eliza jumped up and shouted at the whale, "Hey, put her down. She was just trying to protect the princess." Her fist were balled and she looked quite angry at the fact the cancer had disappeared. Her eyes were set in a glare.
They quickly widened when the whale decided they deserved to be attacked yet again. She quickly jumped out of the way of the sonic boom that was aimed at the group, frowning as she almost lost her footing again. She shook off her sock and pulled her belt from her haggered shorts.
They drooped and threatened to fall, but Eliza hardly noticed, as she ran at the whale, jumping and whipping her belt at the thing. It was like being Indian Jones. She wanted to save Cancer. "LET HER GO," she shouted. "LET HER GO!!!"

It.. ate someone. IT ATE SOMEONE. Roxy stared in horror and tried to come up with some clever little joke to make herself feel better, but nothing really came out of her slack jawed mouth. Her hands were still pressed against her head, nursing that headache when suddenly another attack came from the creature.
Whatever anyone else was saying was lost, it was like people were speaking in strange clicking noises and Roxy stared in mixed fascination. Weird languages and... everything looked like it was straight out of Kirby Epic Yarn. Threads, cloth, felt... everything. Even her friends and Bela as she came up to her and tried to communicate. Roxy was looking at the pirate woman like she had grown a second ******** this.... I'm out...." She whispered, and to her ears even her own voice sounded like clicks. If there was a decent enough wall, Roxy would have been against it even if it wasn't really in her nature.

Now they could get away from the hole. She reached out and grabbed both Regina and Amy by their shirts and tried to yank the two girls away from the hole.
She didn't know what was going on or what the whale would try next time but she wasn't going to let either of them get eaten. She would have to jump down the whale's gullet after them and that was -not- something she ever wanted to say she'd done.
Yuck.

She couldn’t hear. That certainly explained why a lot of the people had been screaming. It would have been better if Felicia could still hear, but Felix reluctantly placed a comforting hand on her shoulder as he spoke, “It’ll be fine.” He knew it was pointless to speak; she couldn’t hear, but it felt incredibly awkward to hold her shoulder and not say something. As Felicia urged Felix and Zue to flee, she fell over on Felix and he instinctively reached out to wrap his arms around Felicia while both of them tumbled to the ground. He gritted his teeth to hold back a pained groan. “Are you okay?” Struggling to his feet, he held out a hand for Felicia to grab onto again.
“Layton, you look like a cupcake. Doesn’t she look like a cupcake?” Felix directed his question at Felicia, but then remembered that she was currently deaf. Right. “I—“ He sighed. “I’m just hallucinating. It’ll stop eventually…maybe.”
