Meme blushed a little and wasn't sure what to say. If he admitted it than anyone could press them for details. He wasn't sure if he was wanting them to know just yet. Meme looked up at Helena for a little guidance before he made up his mind about what to say. "Y-yes I am. But you can't tell anyone okay? Not even your other siblings. It's our secret okay?" he asked with a playful wink.

Kuro followed Rufus inside and noticed something was off. "Rufus?" he asked softly, moving around to the Prince's front to see his hand on his chest. "Rufus what's wrong?" he asked sternly, concerned for the boy's health.

 Rufus concentrated on his breathing for a moment, eyes closed. "Can I really be a King, Kuro? Oh God, I just lied to them, and I sounded like my father-!" He shook all over, speaking in a whisper. "I've never sounded like that before... and I have to deal with them tomorrow as well!"

Trapped. Julian and Liam agreed, Julian relieved that Meme hadn't been angry with Liam. "You're looking after Akito, and Prince Rufus is, too, right?" Liam asked, solemn. "If so then bless you and we won't tell anyone!"

"You two are adorable." he said with a small laugh. "Are you guys hungry? We can all go to the kitchen and get you a meal before we send you home." He wasn't sure if they were even fed very well at home but they seemed in high spirits otherwise.

Kuro breathed a sigh of relief, for a moment he was beginning to think Rufus was having a heart attack himself. "Come...sit with me." he said softly, aiding the young man to a nearby bench and sitting down with him. "You sound nothing like your father. With power comes responsibility, something your father did not have. Sometimes it is necessary to tell a lie or to stretch the truth a little." He could tell his words weren't making the young man feel much better. "A person can understand your situation....But people won't understand as easily and can be dangerous if you say something to upset them." Kuro began to rub his back soothingly. "It will be scarey, but we all have confidence in you."

Rufus didn't feel much better, but the backrub distracted him enough that he could sit up and nod to Kuro. "I have to make sure Meme hears that the world believes we're not married before someone else tells him." He winced. "We'll have to make contact with the Media so we can discover what pictures they have of us... but that'll happen tomorrow."
He slowly stood, shaky for a moment before moving towards the door. "I'll have a word with the guards and make sure everything is settled for the night. You go to bed; Akito will need you tomorrow." He'd need his Butler too, but it was important that Kuro had his life too.

Trapped. Julian and Liam beamed at him. In seconds, they'd nodded and rushed for the door... only to find Helena leaning against it.
"I'm fine with feeding you, but we have to be sneaky since no-one knows you're here." She nodded to Meme. "We'll have to hide them."

Meme gave a soft sigh. "I'm sure it will be fine, we just need to find Kuro and let him know. If we do that I think it will be okay if they stay for a little bit." As soon as he said that Kuro entered the room.

Kuro wasn't going to be rid of that easily. He watched Rufus walk off and made his own way to the young man's bedroom to check on Meme, only to find a couple of kids he recognized from Akito's home. He looked toward Helena, assuming she was the one who smuggled the children inside since she was the only one unaccounted for in the last hour or so. "Next time please let me know when you smuggle guests into our castle." he said rather sternly but he felt responsible for the safety of the household. "They can't see Akito, he's sleeping. I will let the rest of the house know they are here." he averted his gaze toward Meme and gave a soft sigh. "I wanted to let you know that the press doesn't know you two are married and that's how it's going to stay for a while. If they find out about your marriage to Rufus...well lets just say it won't be pretty."

Rufus rounded the corner and quietly hailed the Captain. "I apologise for the strain on your men, but I wasn't expecting to be disturbed this evening. Will they be alright to have a night shift and a day shift? I have no idea how most of these things work." He blushed as he confessed that, but he had to be honest. "I just hope no-one is stupid enough to test me - they will be jailed, unharmed but kept for the night, if they trespass."

Trapped. Julian and Liam recoiled from the Butler's stern expression. Julian frowned as he looked at Meme; he knew it was a secret, but why couldn't the Prince admit it yet and make it a revealed secret? Still, he kept quiet and made sure Liam did as well.
Helena nodded to Kuro. "I'm sorry, but they were hanging around the stables and I didn't know what the guards would say if they were found. Too many reporters and unknown people - I didn't want it to be assumed that they were here to take secret photos or something. Is it possible to feed them before Troy or I escort them home?"

Haru heard a familiar voice from behind him, he was successful in keeping the villagers out, though there weren't many surrounding the gate now that Rufus had made his announcement. "That's quite the request, Sire." he said softly, looking at his men and observing the few men and women who had a little too much to drink. But his police force were far too busy protecting the castle grounds to worry about a few drunkards. "There aren't many people around now, many of them went home after your announcement. I can have a few guards to make some rounds in the courtyard, one at each entrance to the castle itself, and send the rest to bed. I can place them in shifts that way. I'll keep Troy here as well." he looked to Troy with a confident expression. "We will work in shifts as well, in my stead you will be captain. These men will obey you just as they would me. Now why don't you head inside and comfort your fiance. I can hold down the fort."** Meme Pear **
Meme was expecting Rufus to tell the press that they weren't married, it seemed logical to him since Rufus didn't want to put him in any danger.

Kuro gave a small sigh, he couldn't blame her for bringing them in with mob outside the gates. "We will all go to the dining room, I'm sure Cook wouldn't mind setting out a small spread. I need to keep an eye on everyone. Come, lets go." he said softly, holding the door open for the four individuals and escorting them to the dining room. Anyone who was being escorted by him wouldn't think twice about them.

He sighed, rubbing his eyes. "I understand. I'm sorry this is such a stressful time, and thank you for your loyalty and efforts. I hope you sleep well when you can."
Rufus left and went to his room to change. Finding it empty, he shrugged and started to get changed. Half-way through removing his shirt, he fell forwards onto his bed and slept, curling into a ball.

Trapped. Julian and Liam kept close to Meme and Helena, not really sure about Kuro. When they reached the dining room, they sat with straight backs and waited for someone to tell them what to do.
Helena sat across from Meme, thinking about Troy. If he gets hurt-! I'll beat him myself!
Cook came into the dining room, saw everyone and beamed. "Guests! I'll make cookies immediately - oh! Master Meme, did Rufus eat his food?" she queried, looking as stern as Kuro for once.
Troy nodded and waited until Rufus had left to speak. "I will take the first shift; you sleep for now."

Haru smiled and placed his hand on Troy's shoulder. "Thank you. I guess it's time for my butt to get whipped too." he said softly, heading past the gates and soon wound up at home.** Meme Pear **
"He didn't really eat much before Kuro told him about the reporters and villagers. I haven't really seen him a few hours." he said, looking to Kuro for more information.

Kuro gave a small nod. "Rufus made his announcement and left for the barracks to talk with Haru. But he shouldn't have taken this long. I'm going to check on him. I'll be back soon." he said softly, leaving the group where they were and finding Sarah, worried that Rufus might have gotten hurt. Kuro finally found Rufus on his bed and gave a soft sigh as he allowed Sarah to check him. Upon hearing the good news Rufus dismissed Sarah to finish dressing Rufus carefully and placed him under the blankets in his own bed.
Sarah followed Kuro around looking for Rufus and found him safe in his own bed, though half dressed. As a nurse, Sarah paid no attention to his vulgar dress and checked his vitals, but the boy was breathing. She gave a soft sigh and looked up at Kuro. "He's going to be okay. He's exhausted. He needs to rest." she said softly.

Rufus slept heavily, barely murmuring as Kuro and Sarah sorted him out. All the emotion and stress was taking it's toll; he'd be hard to wake in the morning.

Trapped. Julian and Liam pounced on the food Cook brought them, eating with gusto and watching the adults. They accepted Cook's offer of a basket to take home, thanking and hugging her, before turning to Helena.
"I think we should go home now. Thank you for having us and helping us!" They called to Meme, who seemed worried. They both hugged him.
Cook quickly prepared a meal, set it in front of everyone, then went to make a basket for those children. She piled it high with treats, but made sure there were practical foods inside as well. She offered them it and smiled as they hugged her. If not for the potential political problems, she'd suggest they moved in...
Troy nodded and stood at attention at his post, alert even as he thought about himself and Helena. He sighed; they didn't have a future... but he wanted one with her.

Meme gave a small smile and ruffled both of their heads. "You two take care. We will let you know when you can come see Akito." he said softly. Meme listened to Kuro and nodded, the man was right he needed his sleep. He headed up to Rufus' room, deciding it might be best if he slept with his husband, if only for the protection, though he slept in the bed completely clothed so there would be no suspicions.

Kuro returned to the kitchen just in time to hear the two boys' wish to return home. "Helena will you escort them there? I want you to stay the night with them. I'm worried someone might follow them and put them in danger." he said softly, Kuro wasn't going to take any risks. He looked to Meme once Helena had left. "Rufus is back in his own room. He's exhausted and sleeping. Your free to join Rufus in his bed or with Akito." he said to Meme with a somewhat relaxed tone. "You should sleep. It's very late." Once Meme left for the bedroom Rufus slumped into a chair and cradled his head in his hands, giving a heavy sigh. "Cook......would you make me a drink please? I don't care what's in it as long as it has some kind of alcohol."

Trapped. Cook nodded. "As long as I may join you in that drink. My, we've had a rough couple of days and no mistake! But you and that boy seem to be doing well... am I right?" She made the drinks as she spoke, making them stronger than normal since she felt they needed it. "Master Rufus will approve, I make no doubt!" she murmured, placing his drink before him and sitting down across from him to cradle her own. Helena saw the boys home, lucky that she didn't bump into anyone on the way. However, when she got back Troy was waiting for her and she stifled a grin at how stern and annoyed he looked. She let him take her arm and pull her into the shadows. She let him have his rant before stepping closer. "Well, if you want to be told of my every move then you'll have to marry me - which you can't do unless you kiss me and make sure I know you're the one who's going to be my husband." She waited, challenging him by being so close to him. "Only my husband can protect me like that - constantly. All. Night. Long."Troy was furious as he watched Helena return. The moment she was within reach he pulled her to him, keeping a proper distance yet using the shadows as cover. She was defiant, beautiful, but he could throttle her!
"How dare you risk yourself like that for a couple of unimportant children?! Yes, they should be protected, but there are guards for that and you are a Princess! King Alaric would have all our heads if you'd been hurt or caught. Jesus, Helena: you have to take precautions, even though I know you could take most attackers down." He ran a hand through his hair, distracted. And he backed off. Ohh I could kill him! She glared at him and marched towards the kitchens, stopping at the door to knock. She needed a drink. "Hello? I don't want to intrude, b-but-!" She bit her lip and swallowed, not wanting to cry as Cook came to the door.Then she stepped closer and he wanted to hold her to him. Kiss her. But in one speech she reminded him that they couldn't be together. He listened before making himself step back and bow.
"Your husband will be extremely fortunate, Princess."
He watched her go before sighing and focusing on his duty.She'd just sat down when the knock came. Martha opened the door and gathered Helena into a hug. "We're all stressed and over-wrought tonight. Sit with us, my dear. Everyone is welcome in my kitchen." She sat the Princess next to her and stroked her hair, not caring whether or not Kuro minded.

Kuro was glad for the drink, a tall glass of whiskey with some ice. "Thank you" he said softly, taking a sip from the glass and feeling much better once the liquid burned his throat a little. Kuro listened to Cook and blushed a little at her words, taking a bit bigger of a drink this time before replying. "I-I don't know what you're talking about." he said softly, but his train of thought was interrupted when he saw Helena. Seemed like Troy was messing up left and right with her. He could only imagine their first few days of being married were going to be painful for Troy. Kuro grabbed the whiskey bottle and filled a small glass halfway before sliding it toward Helena. "Here. This should make you feel better." he said softly, it wasn't normally a custom for a Princess to drink such a vulgar liquid but given the circumstances he didn't think she would mind.

Trapped. Cook ignored Kuro's inability to confide in her and concentrated on Helena. Martha drank from her own glass, then sat forward. "Princess, you need to sip that, then tell us what's bothering you." Helena had sat and accepted the glass, not looking at either of them as she swirled the liquid around. "Thank you." She mumbled, manners forcing the words out before she could be silent.
Annnd then Cook spoke to her. She blushed, looked from Kuro to Cook, then abruptly sipped at the whiskey, gagged, and drank half of it in one gulp. "I know he loves me and I know he wants to be with me, but he won't admit it and that's killing me! I offered myself to him and he backed off - backed off, even though I KNEW he wanted to at least sit with me for a while!"

Kuro listened to the princess express her problem but it sounded like she was getting worked up for nothing. "You shouldn't think so much about it. If someone were to find the two of you together it could spell disaster for Rufus. The village might think you're cheating on him. That won't go well with our people." he said emotionlessly as he sipped at his drink some more, though he anticipated a scolding from Cook for being so blunt instead of comforting.
