Trigramatic "Ooh?" Tails asked. Blizz had a story, obviously, and the boy patted the seat beside him for Tristen to sit. "Well. While you two were out, Sub came to me, and found it high time to go after Ein." I said to Tails, sitting back a bit.

Tails sat straighter after this. Perhaps this wasn't going to be such the cool story he imagined. "So...what happened?"

Trigramatic Tails sat straighter after this. Perhaps this wasn't going to be such the cool story he imagined. "So...what happened?" "Long story short? He's gone now. For good." I said. "Ein isn't going to be doing any more of his experiments." To say the least, I was trying to be...well...nice, maybe subtle about it. Yea, now, I am TRULY glad Tails wasn't around when that happened.

Trigramatic "That's...good," Tails said. The chill down his spine didn't leave him, however. His voice darker, he asked, "Did you have to kill any of the lab Pokemon?" "................" I looked away from Tails, I couldn't bring myself to say it, but I had to. I owed it to Tails. "Sadly, on my end? Yea, I did, to save myself and someone else that was with me. It was a Ursaring that attacked us. Completely berserk. I thought I just knocked it out before I ran off from it, but I guess it wasn't really out because it tracked us down while we were in a elevator. It was tearing out the bottom trying to get to us while in the shaft."

A sigh. "Oh." Tails' stare fell to his lap. He resisted a shudder. That it could have been him frightened the boy. But he pinched his leg, tried to drive the possibility from his mind. "I'm glad I didn't wind up like that."

"I'm glad I didn't wind up like that." "Same here..." I said, reaching over and stroking Tails's head. "Tails, are you ok?" Tristen spoke up. The way Tails reacted just then got his attention.

"Yeah. I'm okay," Tails said. "It's just...sometimes memories of that place come back to me. Mostly in dreams. And sometimes in those dreams, I'm fighting the other Pokemon. I don't know if that actually happened. I try not to think about it."

Even if this was mostly good news, he wondered if he'd have felt better not knowing at all. "So...now what?" "Well." I spoke up. "I don't know. Ein is gone, so I want to say our job is done...but. Considering that not once that I saw one of those grunts that we stopped back at Mahogany at Ein's lab...it leaves me to think that while Ein is gone, this...whole ordeal isn't." I said.

"How about you take the day just to unwind, Tails." I said, reaching over and started to scratch behind the ears. "Take a nap, eat. Better yet, since we only got a few weeks of winter left, a cup or two of hot chocolate, if you'd like." I said.
