B-but why? I mean, acting as a mercenary would be great character develpment and all... But Tenza likes his village!
And going with you and doin some stealth training beats remaining in the village with Kay... Who knows... Maybe David will teach Tenza some Earth jutsu razz

Why would David teach him anything?
You'd have to act as a mercenary to keep outsiders from picking up on the inner workings of the village. It'd be a bit odd for someone who is obviously a ninja to constantly hang out with people in the dojo, and call farmers his teachers and such, no? The second you go public, the village publicly knows nothing about you.

Which is why Tensai is undergoing reconstructive surgery after the Chuunin exams, since it's a public event and I'm not sure if you can enter without a sponsor village :/

Hmm... Being a mercanary just got cooler....
And why would David teach him anything you ask? Simple. Cause David is so awesome he won't mind teaching a total stranger earth jutsu ^^

What ever happen to good old transformation jutsu and mask hmm? I barley ever see people use tranformation jutsu to hide there identity anymore. It is the most effective solution to hiding ones true features after all.

I don't dispute that, but the chance of someone coming into sound and activating a doujutsu, then picking out a ninja who is transformed into a farmer is pretty low. Not to mention a ninja should change there scent as often as possible anyway. As for the chakra sig there isn't a way to change that.
Plus if your in the situation that a enemy nin is using a doujutsu then chances are any chance for getting out of that situation with out giving away your identity at all are slim to none.
Changing ones appearance by means of surgery is far more work than is needed, a simple transformation jutsu is all that is needed in almost all situations. There are ways to see threw them, but most of those ways would also see threw surgery since they are essentially the same thing. Aside from one require a knife and a medic and one requires a hand seal.

The point is I designed Tensai to be a pretty die-hard, textbook ninja. The transformation technique wouldn't cut it if his identity was compromised. Also that technique would require a countinuous upkeep.

Ya but it doesn't drain charka continually so I don't see the problem, and what about the mask.... can't get more ninja than a mask man. It's impossible.

Oh, just toss them at a NPC or tell them to wait and train by sparing or simple work outs. It wont "teach" their rpc's anything but it is a funny and anticlimactic way to force character development onto them.

Just to throw this out there again as always...
I tend to go on spurts of inactivity from time to time (mostly corresponding to when I install new Computer games, such as what I just did with Starcraft 2)
However... if people need me for something, whether I need to make a post, or you need an NPC to teach you something or otherwise, just PM me and I'll do it. I may not be the most active person in terms of # of posts I make due to Real Life, etc... but I'm always available by PM)
