Faye calmed down a bit as she looked down at Nicholas' hands as he hugged her. She looked back up at him with curious and still somewhat gloomy expression. "I don't get it, why do keep saying things like that? About...being with me...." she said a little shyly as she wondered why his hugs were so effective at making her feel better.

"Well it's... it's because I.... I...." Before he could confess his feelings, a sharp pain went through his arm. "Gah! It's happening again, only it's much stronger. I don't know if I can knock it back!" He backed away, holding his arm as it turned black. Only his arm turned black though and his eyes changed from his pale blue to a blood red. "My, I wonder what he was about to tell you that made his emotions jump? I know, but should I tell you? Maybe I should. You wouldn't know what it is anyway. You probably have never felt it before in your entire existence!" The demon swat on the couch eyeing Faye with his piercing eyes. "I don't know why this human cares so much about you. He's just your puppet right? A test subject that you can use until he is no more? Why would you have any feelings for him? I can tell that you do, even if you don't know what it is." He laughed. "Well then, it seems my time is up here for now. I'll be seeing you again once I gain more energy." with that said, the demon went away, Nicholas's body falling to the floor unconscious. His arm turned back to normal and so did his eyes.

Faye managed to catch Nicholas with some difficulty just before he hit the floor. She laid him back down on the couch before sitting down in front of him, waiting for him to wake up. She pulled her knees into her chest and tried to sort out the demon's words that had confused her so and made her heart feel like it had sprang to life once more.

Nicholas slowly woke, standing himself up and looked around. He saw Faye sitting next to him, a confused look on her face. "Is something wrong Faye? You look very confused." He said as he rubbed his arm since it still stung somewhat.

"Mr. Demon said a lot of things while you were out..." Faye said glumly, starting to rock back and forth a bit. "He said we were both feeling something I wouldn't know, or something like that..." she said with a slight frown.

Nicholas knew what she meant by feelings, and nodded. "Well um... it's because I care for you and always want to be with you. Your were confused about why I kept saying things like that right?" He said to him and hugged her. "I've got to say it now or I may never get the chance again." He looked right into her eyes, his teal blue eyes seeming dull, but more alive then ever at the moment. "It's because... I love you Faye." He told her a gave her the biggest hug he ever gave her. He didn't know how she would take the sudden affection but hoped she felt to same to him.

Faye seemed confused and somehow surprised at the same time. She wondered why she hadn't noticed his beating heart before. "L-Love...?" the word seemed foreign to her, yet familiar at the same time. It was a long time ago when she joined the ranks of the town's citizens. She was a timid science geek who got invited to the Halloween party that the town lured all the visitors in with when she found some broken down machines from the last scientist the town had. She'd somehow taken his place when she became obsessed with fixing his machines when she had her accident. Once upon a time she felt such an emotion too. It seemed almost nostalgic feeling it again. "I....I l-love you too..." she said quietly as she slowly reached around to return the hug, burying her sheepish face in his chest.

Nicholas's face instantly turned red when he heard her whisper the words "I love you too" She then returned his hug and buried her face into his chest. He was so happy that he was able to confess his love and have her love him as well. He was also happy that she wasn't confused anymore like she a was at first. His heart was beating like a drum, faster then it ever has before. He was so shocked from Faye's words, he fell back on the couch with Faye still hugging him and fainted!

Faye was surprised when Nicholas suddenly fell back with her still in his arms. "Nicholas? Nicholas?! Ahh! What happened?!" she said starting to spaz out, thinking the demon was partly responsible.

The Demon was not responsible at all. In fact, he was just laughing at Nicholas for being so stupid! All of this emotion was giving him great amounts of strength. The Demon could take over, but needed more energy if he wanted full control. He also knew exactly how he would get it!
Nicholas was still red, but it started to fade as he laid on the couch now peacefully asleep.

Faye finally calmed down and just blinked at Nicholas a few times when she realized he was asleep. She chuckled a bit in spite of herself before squeezing herself onto the couch to cuddle up with him, resting her head on his chest, finding a strange comfort from the sound of his still-beating heart that she no longer had.

(Yea. Some random jumps between the demon and himself and then when an "event" happens between Faye and Nicholas, I let him come out for a long time! Also I just realized. Wouldn't hurt Nick with Faye laying on his chest with that HUGE key in her head?)
