Vikki Stardust DarkElf27 Vikki Stardust DarkElf27 Vikki Stardust Google-fu says £17.40 for 5 and £83.52 for 30 I think a DAAAAYUM is in order. Pricey! Still cheaper than gw tho.. gonk Not when 20 guardsmen is $30... Or has it been that long since I've gotten minis? Sounds like youre a millennium behind! rofl maybe pick up five for some pretty ex-sergeants then... dont think i can afford eighty quid for just 30 models... and Cap, Guardsmen come in a box of ten men for about £18ish now :/ back when i used to do marines, werent they in a twenty man box??

Ah yes, back in the day when Catachans (and later onwards Cadians) were released in the old regiment sized boxed sets, as they used to do with Warhams Fantasy, where you could buy a full regiment (with command) for that price then, instead of ten models now. Granted, ten models with all options, but still a bit of a downer.

From Dakka Dakka.. Quote: So i took an impromptu trip to Warhammer World tomorrow and was struck by a few of the things that were 'Out on Campaign' and thus missing from the display cabinets. Often this has been a good indicator of what may be on the horizon as they may be off in battle reports or having army shots done to include new releases. 40K Eldar - 80% missing Tau - 50% missing Tyranids 100% present WFB Skaven - 80% missing High Elves - 80% missing Dark Elves - missing EXCEPT Cauldron of Blood Witch Elves Dark Riders and Black Guard so draw your own conclusions there They were the major absences, there were a few other bits missing here and there. Forgot to look for Dwarves but the Lizardmen were there. Could mean something, could mean nothing, personally i think the Dark Elves miniatures that were left in the cabinet are a very good indicator.

Quote: Up for release in September is the new Codex: Space Marines. - There will be 7 Ltd Ed varients. 6 of these will be covers for First Founding chapters, whilst the 7th will have Black Templars on the cover. - New weapon family: Grav weapons. I believe these wound against the armour save (so terminators would be wounded as if they had a toughness of 2). - First Founding chapters will be getting a substantial section each to themselves, so hopefully this can be looked as as Codex: Space Marines instead of Codex: Ultramarines. This will also show in a rule called Chapter Tactics, for which the effects depend on the chapter being played. - There is a new armour type that at first glance looks to be somewhere between a terminator and a dreadnought - looking more closely, it appears to go over the marine's power armour however. - This new armour can be armed in 2 ways, depending on the user. The devastator version has either a bolter array or missile launchers mounted on the chest armour, whilst the gauntlets can be armed with heavy bolters, lascannons or grav cannons. The assault version has a bolter array or frag launchers mounted on the chest armour, with assault drills mounted on the gauntlets. - There are 2 new AA tanks. One tank veterans will already be familiar with as the Hunter, armed an AA missile launcher. The other tank mounts 2 tri-barreled turrets instead. - There is a new tactical squad. Lots of options as you'd expect, but of particular interest will probably be the grav pistol and grav rifle. - A new plastic Sternguard veteran squad. - A new plastic Vanguard veteran squad. - New plastic characters: a captain, a librarian and a chaplain.

I do hope puts extra effort on desining the nid codex, they have been the under-dogs for far too long since the changes in the assault and close combat rules sections. Give them something that really makes them a huuuuge threat to other more shootier armies armies.Lady Blodwynn Quote: Ultramarines supplement digital White scars hard copy .......supplements? for chapters that are already on the book with their own Chapter Tactics? .......whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa???? gonk

Asmondai I do hope puts extra effort on desining the nid codex, they have been the under-dogs for far too long since the changes in the assault and close combat rules sections. Give them something that really makes them a huuuuge threat to other more shootier armies armies. It all depends on who the author will be. It won't be Robin Cruddance, he did the previous edition, which was rather abysmal, but then again, he also did the current edition of the Space Marines codex, so thankfully he has grown in ability. Asmondai Lady Blodwynn Quote: Ultramarines supplement digital White scars hard copy .......supplements? for chapters that are already on the book with their own Chapter Tactics? .......whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa???? gonk Remember, the release from two weeks ago is Codex: Space Marines, not Codex: Ultramarines or White Scars. These supplements are more of a fluff booklet than anything else, as 90% of it is taken up by fluff and the rest is filled with scenarios, some extra characters and maybe an alternate army list.

Soooooo instead of having those fluffs, characters and scenarions IN the codex: space marine, they decided to put them on a separate book that costs a lot, which mean no one would probably buy it. Is GW confusing Supplements as DLC´s now? neutral

Is GW confusing Supplements as DLC´s now? neutral They did the same with Ianden, Farsight and the Black Legion.. Yes, it is DLC and yes, it is happening. IF GW were to do as you proposed a codex would cease to be a codex and instead become a bloated monstrosity like the core rulebook. Do you really want to lug such a massive weight around to every game? I don't think so. Just be glad that all the characters are in the main codex, along with all the options. The supplements are just that: A supplement to the codex, filling in blanks, giving info on a certain aspect of a faction, without stealing the spotlight from the faction as a whole.
