Halima was carrying an armful of books, the final class of the day having just finished up. She kept her eyes peeled for her boyfriend, having found him much easier to run into since the rainy season began in full. It was like the rain had come just for them, to bring them together more often!

Smiling to herself, she stopped and reached over with her free arm, unhooking her jacket from where she'd left it hanging with the other students'.

As Hali dumped her books into her bag and slipped her coat on, she looked up just in time to notice her boyfriend's retreating plait. 'Oh! Kami!' She called, smiling widely and hastily snatching his coat from it's own hook. She hastened to catch up with him, offering it as they stepped out into the rain.

'Here, you don't wanna catch a cold, right?' Hali breathlessly asked, shielding her head from the rain with her free arm.

'Oh--' Hali looked unabashedly disappointed, staring up at him with her big orange eyes, 'But...well, when can we be together next? I thought maybe you could bring me over to your house for dinner one night...?'

She had been hoping to get to know his family, at least his mother, but had thus far not been given an invite despite the many, many hints she'd dropped. Her tail flicked hopefully and she put on her best smile, looping an arm through his.

'Oh...well that's okay I guess.' Hali conceded, perking up again when her next idea came to mind, 'How about you come over to mine then! After you're done with everything tonight! I'll have Mom make something really yummy just for us! It'll be romantic...'

She leaned her head on his arm, walking with him.

'How about tomorrow--' Hali had pressed unperturbed, only pausing when he pointed out her friend, '--Oh, yep. Do you wanna say hi? She's probably just playing a stupid prank or something, she's nice and all but sometimes she can be such a pain. Her and Miri.'

'Oh. Well...' She finally let go of his arm, but paused in her walking instead and took his hand to stop him, too, 'I'll see you later?'

Hali looked a tad disappointed, having expected a kiss, or at least a hug. When was he going to get over that shyness? If they were going to last forever he'd need to open up to her more. She watched him go, hugging her arms around herself and pouting.

'Hey, how's life for the lovebirds?' She heard Six's familiar voice ask and looked her way, smiling a little.
'He's just going to see his friend...he was kind of cold though. Do you think something's bothering him?' Hali asked of her friend.
'Kami? Oh who knows, probably. His parents did split up, that kind of thing must suck. Which friend, anyway?'
'Um, Bristan I think?' Hali said.
'Ohhh. Hey, you know what'd cheer him right up?' Six asked, glancing over her shoulder before looking back with a stifled giggle, 'You should totally follow him there and surprise him.'
'You think...?' Hali did like the idea, it could be romantic!
'Totally, but watch out, I hear they keep us as pets there!'

Six gave Hali a pat on the shoulder and ran off. Hali was already hurrying after Kami or she might have heard Six and Miri's loud giggle fits.
