There we go. ^_^ Not as long a post as I usually do, but I guess there wasn't all that much to say just yet. That should set you up well for a post, Mari! (is Mari a good nick for you? d'you have a preference? ^^) And then nikomas and others after that, and then I'll get us to the Fort--making sure to spend a moment or two to describe the scene to match the drawing I did a while back. biggrin

I've always harbored the small idea that if the errand-riders ever pass over any sort of prairie/grassland terrain, that the Leone Ranch could be in that area and they could spend the night or something. Meet the Leones, deal with unruly land stryders, and get the opportunity to see Zuuta in an environment where she isn't biting people's heads off. Just a thought, though... >.>;;
Although it's a few days early, I thought I'd let you all know that I'm going to be out of town on vacation for about a week starting sunday the 17th.

I'll try to have a post up today, after I get off work. biggrin That way nikomas can have another post before she has to go. ^^
I think Zuuta's place would have to be directly in their path for them to turn aside and solve whatever problem is obstructing their quest. If you look at the map on the first page, we're heading slightly northeast toward where the large duchy points toward another one. All those dotted lines for boundaries are different duchies in Mandor. The terrain hasn't been established yet, but a general guideline is that there are more mountains in the north than the south in Mandor, so a good place for Zuuta's ranch might be beyond the mountains we'll be crossing after we reach Fort Altross. biggrin Probably somewhere in the big shield-shaped duchy to the east.
There could be other sidequests before that, though. biggrin Or if Zuuta's place is somewhere else... like some large, high-altitude meadow nestled among a few peaks, then it's conceivable that we could run across it. biggrin
By all means, feel free to brainstorm. I'm open to lots of little adventures as long as it can be explained as something important enough for them to turn aside from their quest.
One thing that can help: They don't have to be in a HUGE rush, because there is a second group that's going to catch up to them at some point. They'll have a silver chain of command, and they'll be coming with all the errand-riders that signed on in the few days following Elenda's group's departure. So Elenda doesn't have to rush like mad, or they won't be able to catch up. Which means she does have a bit of flexibility for side quests. biggrin
