"It's not enough to know your limits.. ((Grunny invited me, and I have no idea what's happening))
Odin bumped against the other members of the Order as they filed into the building. Here she was again being jostled about in a crowd of people. Despite being in the Order for the whole duration of the war and even now Odin could still not get used to "mingling" with other people.
She had hurried to the Temple as the afternoon bells tolled and arrived just in time to hear the Captain's announcement.
What? What do they mean he's back? How is that possible? And to conveniently find his way to his followers?
No, she would not bother herself with such thoughts until the proof she needed would appear before her eyes. Call her a skeptic or whatever, but Odin was not the type to trust so easily.
Her brow furrowed again as she proceeded to follow the people to their destination.
((.__. feels weird just popping up in here..))..but to know what you must do to go beyond them."

Coline had been manning her post by the Temple doors. Pushing herself off of the wall she straightened herself, the spear in her hand standing equally as straight beside her. The fresh air had done her good; she had finally managed to ease herself after that startling revelation.
A familiar male figure soon came into view. A figure she wished she would never have the pleasure of meeting again. He approached her, that conceited look still etched into his face. "Ahh, so you really are part of the combat unit." She regarded the man with a hostile silence. "I went through all the trouble of going to the Training Grounds, but the man in charge wasn't around. Some commander he turned out to be."
Coline's brows furrowed, grip on the spear tightening. "What business do you have with the Captain?"
"Ohh, so he's here, eh?" the man said melodically. Then, stopping for a moment, he raised his chin to take in a breath. "Mmm... That smells good. 'Heard there was a feast going on." he continued, a sly grin spread across his lips. Again, regarded with silence and a well-deserved glare. "Well, I'll be handing this report over to the Captain then. Hehehe..."
With a swift motion the spear was forced downward horizontally, blocking the man's entrance. "I'm afraid I can't allow that." she started. "Recent events have forced the Order to tighten security around significant areas. This includes the Armory." narrowing her eyes, she continued. "It would be less than ideal for you to leave your post unmanned for very long. I'll forward your concerns to the Captain."
"Tch. Cheeky little brat!" he blurted out, infuriated. "Let me through! I'm here on official business!"
"Then allow me speak bluntly." she answered promptly. "You are not authorized." Extending her hand, she gave the man a small smile.
The man's fist shook, crumpling the letter in his hands, before slapping it onto hers. "You'll pay for this..." he grumbled, face distorted in anger, before he turned completely and left.
Just as the man was out of sight Coline assumed her former position. She pushed the door open and stepped inside, heading for the hall where the people had gathered earlier on. Chances were the Captain would still be there. She laughed to herself quietly, quite pleased with herself. She might have pushed it a little with that rude man from before, but damn, did that feel good.

(( The gathering actually took place in the main temple hall just inside the entrance, so is it okay if I just say you're approaching him? I know it's part of your character to knock, but there's nothing to knock on here really.. XD )) All good is hard, and all evil is easy. Dying, losing... Jessie hadn't gone down to join the feast. He was not accustomed to dining with many people, and the entire experience would probably have put him in a bad mood. The room was now basically empty except for a few who'd chosen to sit and wait it out. These were a very tiny minority, for who would say no to a celebratory meal?
Hmm, it seemed there was one more who had turned down the rich selection of foods. Coline was approaching him. He couldn't guess what she wanted, but it really didn't matter. He was quite pleased to talk with her outside of training again after this morning, and content that she'd listened and had some rest.
He inclined his head towards her. "Good afternoon, my lotha'uss. I see you haven't joined the others at the feast. Have you already eaten?"

((>A>; *edits* LOL!!))
"Ah... good afternoon." she answered slowly, a bit taken aback by the informal nature of the conversation. Lotha'uss? She remembered him addressing her in the same way earlier that morning, though she was completely oblivious to what it meant.
"I won't be taking part in the feast. I'm not very fond of large festive gatherings, and... I honestly don't see much point in celebrating..." her eyes drifted downward towards the end, but shot back up soon after. "But I'll occupy myself with manning the front door, sir. I'll be fi--" A low growl emanated from her stomach and her cheeks gleamed a bright red almost instantly.
"I-In any case!" her hand shot forward abruptly, "It's a report from the Armory, s-sir!" She was shaking slightly, lips pursed, every inch of her bathed in embarrassment.

All good is hard, and all evil is easy. Dying, losing... The Captain raised his eyebrow at Coline, obviously amused. He took the note from her, glancing over it.
"And an incredibly interesting report it is."
He punctuated this statement by scrunching the paper up into a ball and throwing it carelessly over his shoulder. By way of explanation in wake of her perplexity, he rolled his eye. "I very much regret stationing guards there in the first place. They take their position altogether too seriously, and bring me reports every day telling me that there's nothing to report."
"Now..." he stepped forward slightly "I'm sure you would care for something to eat. I understand your opinion on festive gatherings, but don't you think a little friendly company would make the experience less unbearable?" ...Cheating and mediocrity are easy. Stay away from easy. ((OSMMMM! <33))
Coline tilted her head slightly in puzzlement. Those two? Taking their positions seriously? Were they talking about the same guards here? Unless he meant giving extra effort to suck up to people with authority, then that sounded just about right. She jolted up in surprise as the Captain took a step forward and listened. It sounded reasonable, but...
"I suppose..." pulling the blanket hanging loosely on her back into place, she continued, "But I... don't really have friends amongst the recruits, sir." she confessed, her eyes directed to anywhere but his. It didn't normally bother her, but stating the fact out loud felt like scraping a perfectly healed wound.

All good is hard, and all evil is easy. Dying, losing... Jessie tilted his head slightly.
"I'm terribly sorry; you seem to have misunderstood me," he began, honestly sounding apologetic "I was actually implying that we may eat together."
Having to repeat his request caused him a slight flicker of embarassment. However, he knew that his invitation was perfectly reasonable and so his confidence didn't waver. ...Cheating and mediocrity are easy. Stay away from easy.

Her eyes slowly trailed back up to his and she stared a while before bursting into giggles. Partly due to her oversight, but mostly due to sheer merriment. Realizing how rude it must have been Coline managed to settle down, but the wide grin on her face remained.
"Of course, sir. It would be an honor." she answered, giving the Captain a respectful bow. Propping her head back up though her expression showed a hint of concern. "But what of my post? It would feel wrong to simply leave it unmanned..."

The bells. The bells woke him and all was silent except their distant ring across the deep blue sky. He pulled himself into a tighter ball and with his arms thrown protectively over his head, he drifted back into sleep, caught between worlds of waking and dreaming. During a lucid moment sometime later, he caught himself thinking, Oh good, the bells, they must have found the Overseer ...
He sat upright with a start, his breath rattling in his lungs and he almost expected to see the deep, calm colors of the Sanctuary all around him, suffocating him. People everywhere watching him, expecting. He thought he heard a voice next to his ear, a brush of lips, but when he looked there was no one there. He took another breath. A bird was chirping in the branches above and the sound of the surf filtered through. There was only the bright sun beyond the tree's sheltering roots he sat underneath, and a lone far figure walking on the beach. He drew his legs in closer through the dirt, shivering despite the warmth of the island's day.
Feeling a tickle, he flicked off a spider making its way up his bare arm, and then shook his head vigorously, rubbing his hands through his hair. Another two spiders fell on his robe and skittered away, and he watched them as they climbed the roots, going up and up. Giving him an idea, he stood, gripping the roots and he began to pull himself up the tree. Feeling the rough bark under his palms, he climbed until he found a solid branch to sit on. From here, he gazed out on the beach, shading his eyes, and tried to identify the person out there.
