He sighed and looked up at her. " You're just so..difficult to read." he replied with a frown, " I'm not forcing anything out of you, nor do I want you in bed with me. You just can't seem to take a gift without complaining about it. Weather you like it or not, there's a life growing inside of you." When the waitress came over she gave Sarah her meat and cake then left them both. " I know you think of me as nothing but a player, and for years I have been one. Yet I'm not happy with my self, or my life. You carrying my child has opened my eyes to my foolishness and you rubbing salt into those wounds with your complaining isn't helping much. I know you're probably tired and sore from carrying the child, but all I'm trying to do is help with no strings attached." Muse said leaning back in his chair. ================================== ================================== " No Love it ain't yer fault.." Brillux said looking over at her, " I'm just tired of being a monster is all. Do ye think I like being like this? I had a name one, a family once, a life once, and it was all snuffed away. The agony I feel I wouldn't wish on anyone, hell, even my own worst enemies. Ye did me a good service and I should have been more gratefull. I'm sorry, when you're undead gratitude kind of takes a backseat." he softly said looking at Roxanne. " Mistress, I shall protect you. Yet all I request is that I find my wife and kids..to at least see if they made it out alive or not. Then when the time finally comes, I can rest peacefully knowing they're well. That's all I bloody want anymore." he added gently patting her head.

She nodded. She knew that her emotions were getting harder to control, since getting pregnant she's had to fight back tears and anger without real reason to do either. It had been enough stress that she was baring a child with a man who had vanished after doing the deed, she sighed and placed her face in her hands. She was exhausted, everything was pulling apart more so her emotions and thoughts.
"I'm sorry." she now said sincerely, looking up at him now. She had never been one to complain and she had acted very out of character, it was unlike her and she knew it. Sarah found herself acting strange almost all the time, it wasn't easy to keep her normal personality when out of nowhere she'd feel something odd. "I'm.. not really normal." she now said, leaning back herself and poking at the piece of meat that had been brought to her. "I was a general, someone taught to be calm, level-headed, strong but since that night 4 months ago I haven't been able to keep up with how I was. I've never had children and never thought I would." she honestly told him, glancing up to him. "So I find myself wondering if I can do this."

A general huh? Well that would explain the sort of sturdyness she was eminating. So he had knocked up a general..and from the looks of not seeing an igsignia upon her armor she was probably let go after being pregnant. Or well so he guessed, she might have just left on her own too out of shame. " I would have stayed with you that night and into the morning. I usually do, to see if a romance will go father than just a one night stand." he softly replied looking down at his hands. " Like I told you, I was hired to kill the person you were protecting, buuuut...you were so beautiful I lost my head and angered the client who hired me. He then sent assasins after me to not only kill me, but you and the man you were protecting as well. That's why in the middle of the struggle and chaos of our love making I knocked you out and 'pretended' I had killed you to fool the assasins. I apologize for the lump on your head...believe me..I would have stuck around more if I could." he admitted looking up at her now. Gosh she had beautiful eyes. " Oh and I also hid you, so that's probably why you found yourself confused when you woke up in that closet naked. I'm sorry about that as well...oh and your client was fine. I managed to help him escape as well and then did the best I could to kill off any of the assasins after me. When I got back..well you know the rest. I would have told you, but you were gone from the town when I came back a day later. "

It was understandable.
Well the explanation regarding her naked confusion the day after not really the romance part. The man, Muse, made no sense to her. Sarah could not understand what he was thinking, he acted like most men but had almost a hidden meaning that set him aside from most men, he was contrary to any male she had met.
She wasn't certain if that was good or not however.
Onward to the last part of what he had to say she gave a cold chuckle, "They made certain to get rid of me the day after." she informed him, though her chuckle was not towards him but to the people she had sworn loyalty too for 5 years of her life. They just disposed of her as if her duties and obligations were nothing but mere jokes. "I appreciate saving my client however he still ended up dead. How is still beyond me." she now said frowning. "He was found dead in his bed the next morning. They blamed me for not doing my job and stripped me of my title. They haven't a clue that I was pregnant but it was most certainly a blessing, I would have been beheaded." she brought a hand up to her forehead to rubbed it.

" The Council does things like that now? I remember when I was just a scrub that the were more forgiving..I guess they're starting to get corrupt as well...and the poor man dead too? Wow..I could have sworn I got rid of all those assasins too." he replied with surprise. " It is a blessing, maybe Fate's toying with us..." he added sofly giving her a look of regret. " I can understand why you wanted my head now. Of course this also means I won't leave your side now. I can't..I've got a baby that needs my care and a woman who's worked really hard carrying it all this time." Giving a gentle smile he would keep his word. Muse wasn't always one to break his word. " I know you don't believe me, but if there is anything I can do for you or the child let me know. No more of this 'I won't have you buying things' garbage either! You're doing your part by carrying the child within your womb, so the least I could do is provide the coin for you both to keep you and the child healty. You are not weak either, I can tell by the way you held your sword that you're no amature. I think you're doing a fine job protecting the child already." Pointing his hand to her, Sarah would notice she was absentmindedly rubbing her belly out of instinct. Muse was a little nervous, when he thought about leaping into becoming a father. He wasn't a very proud and noble man to look up to. That's why he was hoping it was a girl, so she would have a good mother to look up to.

She pursed her lips at the statement but made no complaints, she was in no mood to argue. And though she didn't care for the idea of him making sure she and the child was taken care of she knew with all her heart that she could not be able to find work to buy the needed things. It made her a little sad but she pushed the feeling away, one way or another she would have to let go of her pride.
"Fine." she now grumbled, noticing his point hand. She had been rubbing her stomach but hadn't really realized it, but on many occasions did she end up doing it and someone pointed it out too her. Sarah moved her hand and hoped that the child would not be a girl, she could only imagine how difficult it would be to mother another female. One so small and from her and this man.
Deciding to go to her previous conversation she commented, "I don't believe it was an assassin to be honest." though it was only speculation now for her. It was true that her client had many out to get him but she had come to the conclusion after the last 4 months that perhaps it had been an inside job and when the outside didn't work decided to do it for themselves and making it appear to be an outside job. With everyone guarding the outside, expecting the attack, the real culprit attacked on the inside with little effort. "And I was a general. We have much more to deal with than the average knight as I had learned, one wrong move and you were a goner." she stated.

"Please, none of that Mistress crap. What I did was out of necessity, not greed. Your soul is your own again, it is merely my magic which animates you." Roxanne stated, although she enjoyed his gratitude. "You realize you've been dead a couple hundred years? If we find your family its not likely to be your wife and children, but their great-great grand children. Although I'm sure if we find them, your wife's grave isn't going to be far from there." While it would take a great deal more spell casting to discover to location of Brillux's living family, spell casting she could not complete without making herself completely immobile, she had however absorbed the other warlock's magical signature and could easily find his location. (Ooooo, what if the warlock was the grand master of the school they were headed to?)

" Hmmmm....I see...." he replied placing a hand to his chin now thinking. " Something has been on my mind the moment you mentioned your client. What if...you were set up? I can't place your name, but your face does look familiar. I'm not talking about the night we made love either..it's those eyes that sort of..wait a minute!" Muse stood and snapped his finger. " You're that General who single-handedly took down a dozen camps in that war we just finished! The woman general everyone was afraid of and respected! Maybe..you were just getting too big for your britches." People were staring at him, giving him silly look. Blushing from his embarassment the thief sat down quietly and coughed. " A-Anyway, maybe the council had someone kill your client from the inside to rid themselves of a powerful figurehead? I mean think about it...what would you have done if you found out the council was doing something dishonest?" ========================================= ========================================= He shrugged, " Does it really matter Love? If I could find out that they lived happy lives then that would be fine with me. It's the memory, granted imbewed by magic, that I have." he said shaking his head. " I just want to know that my death wasn't in vain..if my wife ends up being a ghost then so be it!" (actually, I think the warlock is dead. :p that's why the magic was slowly running out of Brillux. lol )

(You never know with those evil buggers... always out surviving their allotted time among the living. twisted I just figured Brillux would want revenge on that warlock too. And lol, that would be an interesting RP right there, a married pair of adventurers still adventuring hundreds of years after their deaths as a ghost and skeleton. Might have to pocket that one and break it out again later... ninja ) "A noble enough reason." Roxanne said with a nod. "And if thats the case, we'll find her and put her restless soul down alongside yours when the time comes."

She didn't know if he noticed but she felt it. The corner of her mouth jerked slightly, 'He's just now figuring this out?' she thought, though she did not expect everyone to know who she was but she remembered he had mentioned being within the knights. Usually they informed lower ranking soldiers about each higher ranking soldiers so they could be well prepared if ever to meet them face to face or at least when she was a knight they did. Then again he could have either forgotten or just didn't care much about it anymore.
Pushing that aside she focused on the theory giving by Muse, of course she knew as General she had a lot of influence but she did not believe she was that much of a figurehead. The idea seemed a bit unreal to her but she did not deny that what had happened was very much so planned thoroughly. He also had a point though about the council, it would not surprise her in the least if they did hire someone to kill anyone that might be in there way. Many times in the past was she giving strange and almost sinister jobs because the council had decreed it. "I would not stand for it of course." she now answered, taking a bite out of her piece of meat. "But I do not believe I was getting that.. what was it you said? Big for my britches?" she added.

He chuckled dryly, " It's a figure of speech. When I was a Knight, Generals were sort of celebrities. They had power, yet not as powerful as the council. Yet a head-strong woman like yourself probably could have ended up a member eventually. You should know that's how new council members are chosen after all?" he shrugged. Letting out a deep sigh he looked out the window for a moment watching the common people move about their lives. Muse fell silent as if he was lost in his own thoughts. She reminded him so much about his mentor. Muse looked up to her, she was the only General who was nice to him when he first joined. Veronica...He remembered it like it was yesterday. She was a beauty with lucious, and silky, raven black hair. Of course it was cut at her neck as some of her bangs covered her beautiful silver eyes. Muse had looked up to her, not because he thought of her attractive, because she believed in him. Heck, maybe she did love him, that he never knew. "Commander...do you have a dream?" he asked one night while he, and Veronica were watching the stars from a hill. They had just completed a mission and stopped to watch the stars fall from a hill she loved. "W-Why would you ask such a silly question?" she asked with sort of a soft surprise. "W-Well you always seemed so focused. Plus you never back down even when the missions get tough! I-I'm sorry! I spoke out of line..forgive me Commander..."She would then laugh and smile at him so tenderly. Muse remember her standing and gazing up into the night sky. "The Council is starting to get corrupt. Old foolish men who want nothing but money and power..they have forgotten about the people and what the Knights have stood for all of these years..My dream is to join the council and to help them remember what the Council really stands for!"A few tears slid down his cheek as he stared out the window. " You are a lot like Her..." he said to Sarah quietly. " You've heard of General Veronica right? Your eyes shine a lot like her's did. It's almost scary actually. My Commander was a beautiful and stubborn woman who fought and protected the people. I looked up to her, yet...I'm sure you know of her death.." Now looking at Sarah, his eyes were deep and serious. Of course, everyone knew about her death and the knight who 'betrayed' her. " ...she had a dream to become a part of the council..but I...I couldn't protect her...yes. I was the knight they 'blamed' for killing her. Yet...why would I kill her? The woman I looked up to, was inspired by..and loved...I was sent to prison, to be be-headed the next day. If it wasn't for the small group of bandits I was imprisoned with I wouldn't be alive today...I did some digging shortly afterwards and found out that the Council had sent some assasins of their own to kill her on the inside..." Clenching his fist he grimaced, " That's why I changed my name and started my company. I wanted to be the thorn in the Council's Side. To become the itch they couldn't reach to scratch..to get back at them for killing a woman who had ideas to change the Council back to the way it was before the war, to be for the people, and the knights, not for greed or power. Yet I couldn't even accomplish that..I'm nothing but a coward who's failed the people who cared about him the most. You just...remind me of Veronica so much...it's like I'm seeing a ghost. Heck, I don't even know why I'm telling you this, you probably don't really care." Muse looked into her eyes once more then let out another deep and long sigh. " I'm truely sorry. A powerful woman like you should be out there winning wars..not stuck carrying a child. I had forgotten who I was..until you came along. I think..that's why I...did what I did. Yet I used you, and am now responsable for the life within you..so that's why I will do what I can to take full responsability. I'm not a horrible man..just one that's lost a lot in his life. One that's just run away from everything and throwing caution to the wind. Yet I promise you the child will grow up with love and with noble intent! I swear to you! I know you can't trust me and that's alright. I've done a lot of things that would make anyone not trust me. Just please promise me..you'll become a blade that will be unstoppable and cut for the just truth that needs to be seen so badly in this land. I'm sure you've seen it, the people are losing hope. It's only a matter of time before the Council get's everything they desire.." ======================================== ======================================== " Well if she is dead, then hopefully I won't have a bloody wailing ghost nagging me constantly! Heh, though I thank you Warlock." he replied with a nod. The carriage rocked a little when it crossed some pot holes. Apparantly it must have stumbled upon a road that hadn't been used in ages. Looking down at Roxanne's large belly then back at her Brillux shook his head. " I hope for your sake that you can find a cure for that thing inside of you. I doubt that's how you want to obtain yer demons...I don't think your belly could stretch that far.." he said in a serious, dark tone.

Veronica.
It was surely a name that Sarah did not expect she would hear again. It had been some time since the General's passing however it was not something that she herself could forget. What was even more so surprising was to hear that this man, Muse, had loved Veronica which was hard not too. Sarah knew her well, the woman was just as stubborn as herself if not more so but she had a big heart, an open mind, and loved to help people.
Sarah gave a chuckled just remembering. Yes, she remembered her Veronica was like a sister to her, they had known one another all their lives. They grew up together but they're path lied elsewhere both destined to be General's but on the other side. The two never fought personally, in fact the two ended up working out diplomatic policies to keep peace between both nations. Unfortunately after her death, war was enviable.
The blond frowned, "You did not kill her." she now said, she felt the subject needed more attention rather than the unborn. Sarah heard the suffering within him as he spoke about Veronica and could not bring herself to let him continue thinking he was the cause. She knew better but that was only because of her rank, it was uncommon for these sorts of things not to reach the higher ups. "I cannot say as to how I know but you were merely blamed as I was for my clients death. she added, he probably did not know that both her and Veronica had known one another and though it was something she wished to keep to herself she knew that to help end his blaming streak she would have to tell him or at least imply it.

[OOC: Sorry sweatdrop when I get in a creative mood I kind of get carried away lol Replied to the other roleplay you made by the way smile ] Muse sighed, " No I did not.." he replied quietly a bit surprised that she believed him, " When I was a small boy, becoming a knight was all I ever dreamed about. Heh, in fact I used to play 'knights' with a group of friends. You know how silly kids are, and I was always getting my nose in trouble too. Heh, I think my mother sent me to knight training school so I could learn dicipline more than become a knight sometimes. It was my dream..I was so thrilled when I finally was able to become one, even if it was only for a short while. If I could, I would take the chance over again. That's why I know you aren't the one responsible for your client's death? I mean c'mon! You were a General, why the hell would you kill someone and risk your positon!? It's stupid." They had been talking so much that Sarah and Muse were the only two left in the resturant. The lunch rush was over with and now it was preparing for the dinner crowd. A few stragglers came in for a small cup of coffee or dessert, but they didn't stay in long. The waitress did come over to them occasionally to ask if everything was fine and such, but the two were left alone for the most part.

She listened to him. Of course she had not done anything to her client however it had been made to look that way either way her position had been taken and she had no form of power to change it.
"I believe you misunderstand the council. Though you've been right to say that they can detain anyone without notice." she started, looking around the restaurant. Had they really been there for as long as she felt? It was strange having a long talk with anyone, it was surely nothing she did on any occasion however she figured it was the topic that kept her. "They are also highly trained to manipulate any crowd." she once more rested her chin upon her hands and fixed him with a serious expression, she wondered herself how things got to be so bad. "Veronica, may she rest in peace, had stumbled upon something she shouldn't have."
Sarah remembered it well, her findings had been reported to her, Veronica had known no one else to trust with such knowledge. Of course most of the details were kept hushed and so the woman had been left in the dark after Veronica's 'mysterious' death. "You could imagine how the council reacted when Veronica had learned of one of their dark secrets, if there really is more." she sighed, it pained her to remember the trails that lead to her dearest friends passing but knew he needed to know.

So I just posted what I felt like would work.] A dark secret? Yes she did mention something 'dark' but he had never really been told anything. Muse was a knight after all, his concern was the battlefield or monster extermination, most of the other problems were taken care of by the 'hire-ups'. " She did mention something 'dark' but she never told me honestly. I was knight after all, and mostly I was on monster extermination duty. Heh, I sometimes felt that even as a knight the Council wanted rid of me." he replied biting his lip gently. How long had they been talking? Now realizing that they were mostly alone in the resturant Muse had never spent this long with someone. The meal had already been paid for, and it looked like she had finished eating everything. Still it was nice to talk to her, to open up like this. Muse could feel his heart starting to slowly heal and it was all thanks to the cranky, pregnant, ex-General sitting accross from him. " I'm sorry..it seems you knew my Commander really well? Friends?" he asked taking note of her facial expressions. " We could stop if it's making you uncomfortable...gee...I never got your name. I gave you mine after all, heh funny how I never noticed until now."
