Annie turned to Tansy as they entered the warehouse, Annie using the walls of support. "Quite frankly I rather not talk about it," Annie said her voice cold. Sighing she added, "I suppose we should, though. Maybe it is a side effect of using my powers too much and too long. I've avoided them for so long, it isn't too surprising that my body would have a negative reaction to starting to use them to such an extent."
She glanced up to see Ako and Gidget and smiled, she changed the subject suddenly, not wishing for the others to worry about her, "You guys made it."

Garret closes the door of the warehouse behind them and wipes the sweat off of his brow. "I don't think anyone followed us, and if Gidget's robot was half as effective as it looked we shouldn't have to worry about Charles Ray anymore."
Gidget stirs a little in Ako's arms and mumbles, "He wasn't a robot."

"I wouldn't get our hopes up about Charles Ray yet," muttered Annie, sitting down, exhausted and taking a deep breath. She unclenched her fist, her palm still black with her own unusual looking blood and sighed. "Anyhow, we have a whole world of worry still, I feel like."
Smiling at Gidget Annie added, "You're right, he had his own personality... when I hear robot I tend to think of the things that put car engine parts together in factories."

Gidget pulls herself closer to Ako and sobs. She knew the truth about Alpha, and it is something that she will never allow herself forgiveness for. She starts to shiver, goosebumps appearing on her exposed flesh (her shaved head included).

Ako put an arm around Gidget, knowing something about how bad she must feel. He may not have made any of them, but he'd lost most of his friends in one way or another throughout his life. It was always tough to lose someone, but it must be even harder when the person lost was your own creation.

Tansy stood back and watched her friends for a moment. she wasn't sure how long they had been under Charles thumb, but everything had changed in that time. Now they were on the run, always looking over their backs that something would attack them. Annie had accidentally killed someone, and was scared that her blood might have been poison. Garret seemed to have more anger, and Gidget, the groups own little miss sunshine, had had a taste of something she wasn't sure if the girl would recover from. Even if Charles Ray was gone, it wasn't soon enough because he would always been with them from the things that they had done to them.
She took a step towards them. Is anyone psychical hurt?" She looked around the group.

Annie shook her head as she curled her legs up as she sat on the floor, "Besides exhaustion, I think I'm fine." She glanced around at the others, "How about y'all?"

"I'm alright." Ako said. "Ditto on the exhaustion, though." He had more endurance now than before the meteor, but he still had limits. It took more energy to make electricity than it did to redirect it, and after three shots, a more controlled one, and a lot of running, he felt like he needed to rest for a bit.

Garrett rests against the wall and rubs his eyes with his hands. He wishes he were back home right now, he'd be asleep before his head hit the pillow. He has nothing left. That ice chute took up the last of his energy. He puts his hands down and nods, "I think we can all agree on that. Does anyone know what time it is? How long were we in there?"
Gidget throws her face away from Ako and sneezes, "Achoo...I'm cold."

Tansy sighed softly. "Alright everyone, we're safe for now." Looking over her comrades, she deiced it was time to take charge. She had gotten them into this mess, and now it was time she did she part. "Get some sleep. We'll need our strength if we're going to have to be on the run." She walked around the warehouse as she spoke, trying to find things to sever as pillows and blankets. "I'll fly to the top of the building and keep an eye out for things." She grabbed a few cloth traps and brought them back to the group. "We'll rest here for a day before she head to Gidget's place." She turned her back on the group and dropped her head. "I'm sorry I got you all into this. but I swear, that I'll make it right."

"Even if we knew what time it was it doesn't tell us what day it is," pointed out Annie. "We've been there too long, that is all I know."
Yawning she handed the cloth trap that Tansy handed to her to Ako for Gidget and sighed, "Tansy, you didn't get us into this mess. Charles Ray did. Don't go blaming yourself." She knew that if Tansy was starting to blame herself than, it was only natural for Annie herself to start blaming herself even further for what she did.
She laid down on the dirty floor of the warehouse and closed her eyes, now the question, would her exhaustion or guilt win out?

Garret slid down the wall and rest his arms on his knees. Maybe this will be over tomorrow, and Ray's dead. He didn't know. Garret knew that '79 blew the lab to kingdom come, and hopefully Ray's burning in hell right now. It didn't matter right now, as his eyelids became heavy. Whatever. Tomorrow they'd be at Annie's brother's house and he could take a shower.

Gidget takes the cloth and wiggles out of Ako's arms. She wraps it around herself and turns back toward Ako. She wraps her arms around him tightly and squeezes. "I knew you'd save me." She lets him go and shuffles toward a broken down cardboard box. She lays down on the flat box and wraps herself up in the cloth. She draws her knees close to to herself and lays her hands under her head. It doesn't take long for her to fall fast asleep.

As Annie lay on the cold ground of the warehouse her eyelids began to flutter as she dropped quickly into REM sleep. It was there she found her fears, the eyes of the man she had killed, the accusing and fearful eyes of the guards as they realized her capabilities, the fake Charles Ray telling her about the dead man's family...
And then the dream she was struggling through a blackberry patch- like the one time she had gotten lost in the woods back home when she was in high school, then she had come back with her red blood dripping from dozens of fine scratches- in this dream it was different, from her scratches dripped a black oozing from her and as the drops fell to the vines they began shriveling up with screams of pain...
Gasping, Annie sat up, turning to see the others falling asleep or already asleep or so it seemed. Sitting up she gasped for air, telling herself it was only a dream. Under her breath she muttered, crying to herself, "I don't have the money to pay for the counseling I'm going to have to go through, now..."

Tansy nodded to herself as she watched everyone fall asleep. She sat there for a moment before she began to walk out to sit on the roof when she heard someone gasp. She turned and looked behind her to see Annie sitting up. Quickly, she moved over to her. Her mothering instincts kicked in. Tansy knelt down next to her. "Annie, what's wrong." She spoke in a soft calming voice. She smiled gently to Annie.
