Emily was going to burst. She didn't know what would come out, but it woulden't be good. She climbed back down to the ground giving some thought to the matter. She could use some of the inventions her father made when he was alive, but they with the rest of her stuff. Emily ran back towards the front end of the house. She stoped at the corner, making sure she wasn't in the field of vision of the window she threw the rock at. "O.K, time for a distract the poor sap inside while Katie does investigating", she said to herself. She threw off her heavy winter coat and pants so she could move better, but she kept on her other layers. She took her arm out of it's sling and brought the gun up. She wrapped her scarf around her head so it covered all but her eyes and proceeded to kick down the door.

The computer was finally done loading so Kai put his headphones on, but only on one ear, and he also decided to check his e-mail while he was listening to the 'whistle'.
the dog was whining a little and sniffing under the door, but he was stuck in the basement....

Katie noticed he had headphones on, thinking they were on both ears, decided to sneak in, though she quickly noticed it was only on one ear. She tapped his shoulder. "Eh.. Mister..? You shouldn't involve yourself.. It's dangerous.. You should forget everything.." She sounded shy and polite and seemed as though she was trying to help him, but she was also ready to defend herself and turn offensive if she needed.

Kai turned and looked at Katie, also wonder what that noise was..sounded like a door falling..he thought it might have been the dog. "Ah, so there is something going on... but you seem to be the one in danger, so why warn me?" he tilted his head and rested he unloaded handgun and his desk.

Emily walked in and heard the man's question. She took off her scarf off because, she surmised, that Katie was already known about, so she was as well. "Maybe it's because your handgun is useless", she said. Emily deduced, by the way the man carried himself and acted, that the odds of the gun being loaded were very slim. It was a gamble, but she was willing to take it because at the moment, she had a gun pointed at him.

Katie was about to answer him, when Emily entered. "Because once your involved there is no turning back. I don't want to see more innocent lives lost..Just forget about everything you've seen or heard about us.. It will only cause you pain." She turned away and pulled Emily along with her, giving her a look that said, 'thought i told you i had this handled.'

Emily caught the look and fired one back. It was the look that she had mastered back when her parents were alive. She gave Katie the, 'I didn't understand,I'm so sorry' look as they walked outside.

Kai chuckled and got up as they went to leave, leaving the empty gun at his desk and walked over to the door and leaned in the doorway. "Oay, girls...if you ever need a place to hide from whoever you're running from the three of you are welcome here. I'm not a regular 'innocent' civilian.." he grinned and glanced between them.

Emily stopped. She turned to the man and asked, "Really? And you think that we're going to trust you that easily?". As she asked her question, Emily absently rubbed her injured arm with the handle of the gun.

Kiana had heard the conversation from outside, or at least, read the mans lips and caught enough of little parts to know what was going on. at the mans last statement, sh dropped down to the windowsill and pulled open the window. her curiosity had gotten the better of her. ' i take it that by th three of us you mean me as well?'

Kai glanced at Kiana "Yep, I guess it'd take more then five months out of the military for me to miss someone that was as close as you were." he grinned, not really worried about the gun Emily had as he looked back at her. "Weather you want to trust me or not is up to you." he shrugged.

It was then that Katie walked straight up to Kai, and somewhat though looking just extremely curious, got a bit into Kai's face as if examining him. She looked as though she were going to say something before her eyes rolled in the back of her head, as she fell unconscious from lack of sleep.
((sorry for not posting--wont be able to post for a few days so until then you can just think of katie as unconcious.. n.n;; ))

Kai was a bit surprised, but caught Katie before she fell. "Eh?! .....she's out cold..." he glanced between Emily and Kiana "Well...do you want to drag an unconscious girl to wherever your hideout is or can I just put her on the couch?"

kiana rolled her eyes. she had seen this kind of thing before. ' leaving here for at least an hour or two will be better. her body needs a chance to revive while its not doing anything, so lying down is best. moving right this second, at least more than a few feet, would just make the process take longer.' kiana lifted katie gently in both arms and laid her on the couch, supporting her head with a small pillow. 'she might take a while to wake, and when she does, she'll probably be thirsty. i've seen it before.' she turned to the man. 'so how the hell did you get so paranoid. for a civilian you're damn twitchy and way to good to have been an average joe your entire life'

Emily stood by, occasionaly looking out the window to make sure no one was coming. She held her gun at the waist and watched the man closely, measuring his every action, taking in his every word. Emily suppresed a sigh. "Of alll the times and places, why did she have too faint now?!?", she thought.
