A friend of mine on Livejournal just shipped out to Korea with his Army unit again - it's his second trip there. I'm not sure exactly where in Korea, though. sweatdrop

I have a crush on a guy in my EMS squad, but he's not Jewish - all the Jewish guys there are either married or incredibly rude/stupid. sad The black, Muslim, and Asian guys are much more pleasant to hang out with. (The married Jewish guys are great, too, and their wives are much nicer than the cliquey single Jewish girls - who really dislike me because I didn't go to any of their yeshiva high schools.) I tend to have male friends more than female friends, go figure. sweatdrop

We're very multi-cultural - we speak about 13 languages among all our squad members. Maybe more, if there's people I'm forgetting with language skills I don't know. xd

It all depends on who you meet- there are boring Jews the same way there are boring Christians, Catholics, whatever. I just hope to meet somebody eventually; I'm fine with not being in a relationship now, as people think they need to have a boyfriend/girlfriend before they realize the full implications of one. sweatdrop

I know exactly how you feel. You feel like yea i have a reason to do something, but nothing really substantual (sp) to back it up. No excuse for my motives. That to me is the hardest part of converting, I have a reason and want to do everything, but nothing to really back up my reason or desire. Then I'm one of those people where if you tell me to read so and so book, I'll read it really really slowly or keep pushing it off, where as if you say read so and so book by the last night of passover, i'd set up a plan and get the job done. 3nodding >.> is it just me, or is this everyone. I think it's just me and other lazy people.

Ooo where do you live, (you don't have to like exact you can just say i live in like northern something. like me i live in omaha but i could say i live by the missouri river in nebraska. Don't tell you where exactly but give you an idea. 3nodding )

Oh and finally for my point, I have just a slight suggestion for Doll!e , you know one thing I've noticed from the help of my lovely boyfriend. Is that jewish guys is that they seem really stiffy, stucking up, stand offish, boring intil you get to know them. For example start with small talk be like hey how you're day going? Then if they don't answer start telling about your day. Be like yea today i did this and that, what do you think of this or that? You know don't just blab on about your day invaulve them in a converstation if you say saw a movie ask if they've heard about if not, ask what movies they like. If so ask what they think about it. If you recently read a really good book about judaism (i'm in the slow slow slow attempt to read "The Case For Israel" I'm recommending it to anyone whom's a bit unsure on what to think about israel or where to stand in supporting or not supporting it) Anyways if you just read a good book about judaism or not about judaism say oh dud ei'm reading or just finished reading this awsome book, you heard about it. wha tyou think. If you liek soccer talk about if they like it you know! That way they get ot know you and get comfortable with you, and you ge tto know them. Once they get to know you and get comfortable maybe even start liking you conversation will be come much easier 3nodding , and as a result they aren't all guarded from being non-pious or like flirty which makes them i think stand offish and stuff. So You win the most. ^.^

Living in the American mid-west and having only one Jewish parent (mom) I've only ever dated one Jewish boy my whole life. Right now I'm with someone who doesn't believe in religion but is open minded to the ideas and principals of my faith. He respects me and he he respects my religious choices. I think I hit the jack pot. I mean my mom never really dated Jewish men and she's been with my father for over 20 years. It goes to show me that men or women don't have to follow the religion but finding one who respects it, respects you, and is willing to give it a shot even is a possibility.
