Alright here's my monthly deck help request. This time its a Red artifact deck:

The skullcage feels out of place in a infect deck. You want to focus on doing poison damage and Skulcage doesn't do that.

As Much as decimator Web reliably gives out poison counters, it just ties up your mana and is too slow. You need infect decks to be quick in this standard.

Hex to me feels like it is just too situational to be effective.

I suggest adding some ichor rats to combo with your hand of the praetor that way when the rats come out your opponent gets two poison counters instead of one. Also, adding green will open up a lot of posibilities for ramping into blightsteel and also pump spells. Hope this helps.

I would suggesting making it black blue for the counterspells. take out the web, heart, and skullcage.

seeing that your deck is not standard legal it will be easy to work with your deck. IF YOU KEEP IT MONO BLACK First I would take out Hex for Damnation, because if they do not have 6 creatures then you will have to target your own guys. I would run Tendrils of Corruption over the doomblades (because you actually care about your lifetotal, you are gonna be racing them), (and i would run only 25 lands at most) You should have 4 of those lands be sac lands if you are not able to make them to be inkmoth nexus. Contagion clasp is good, but I would use Sign in blood over the proliferate abbility unless you have other thigns to put counters on, such as everflowing challis or walkers. (you should run sign in blood, chalic, clasp, and walkers in the deck)

Pherexian crusader is a 4 of and a must. I would run them over the myr sire. they are posibly the BEST infect card being pro red and white.

there is also a mana myr that has infect

nice, I would take out te heart and claw, the lifegain isn't too consistant or playable because it takes up a whole spot, i would run elixer of imortality instead if you want lifegain. Act of treason can be mark of mutany instead. there seems to be a lighting bold missing XD seems like you want to play with metalcraft, so i suggest everflwoing chalis over the myr, creatures are easier to kill then starit artifacts. you dont need bladed pinions because all the things that you want to fly (the big guys) have wings already. I would run viridian claws over the harness and the pinions that way your 2/2's can be used defensivly until you get something more threatening out. if metalcraft isnt too hard for you to get then run 4 galv blasts over the lightning bolts

thanks for your feedback, ill most likely add those cards when i get my hands on them, but for now the deck is a good as i can get it for mono black

you know what would be awsome with this. cloudstone curio. You can bounce your lands! and replay them! that way you wont need to use the "return lands to your hand lands" cause they come into play tapped. you can use it for mroe spells 28 lands and 4 ponders instread? you can run 2-3 cloudstone curio because you only need one on the field and you can probubly draw one up with the horn of greed. and you'll be able to replay lands. you acttually only need like 25 lands because once you get curio and horn of greed with ANY of your "extra land play spells" you are bound to draw more and more crabs and what not. 4 lands should win you the game

first of all im assuming this is a draft deck not a prerelease sealed deck.

Drafting is probubly the hardest thing to do in mtg. with this block you need to decide wether or not you want infect or not pending on your first 4 picks. I think you just need help with drafting moreso then deckmaking with this pool

The way I draft this block (which is also where I found to be teh best tech) is in NP pack, I would pick ALL the best pherexian mana cards, because they are able to be played in ANY deck. that way you are still open in colours, think of them as colorless artifacts. (of course it is okay to decide a colour later on)

In the Beisege pack I would look at my picks and see how many cards I have that have pherexian mana. I choose THOSE colours, and I force it very very hard, that way you wont need to take AS much DMG but you will will be able to use the cool spashing pherexian mana cards in your deck without the fixing. By this pack you also know if you are infect or not. so adjust pending on the pack. the besiege pack i normally pick up equipmennts such as living weapons, that way if I am infect i can still use them, and they still are a creature to chump block if need be If I can't force it or it just doesnt seem to work, i will focus on artifacts.

In the scars pack, you should KNOW your deck, and of course pick based on your picks, I would stay away from darksteel, UNLESS you are playing a deck that does not use infect, because then they can't deal with it at all Darksteel cards are mainly sideboard cards in this block.


Of course if you do it this way you MUST keep an eye out for lifegain creatures because they will help you in te pherexian mana.


Making a deck from a draft pool many people would probably make the same deck. so thats why im not really making a deck out of your pool so you can compare. most of the things you done I would have done too with that pool. I would suggest drafting more big creatures because answers are very limited at the big dumb fatties only real advice is to get mroe diverse colours
