Naomi returned a grin and began to search through kitchen drawers for bandages. "Where did your mom say the bandages were?"

Alexa's amused look didn't fade. "Well, that sounds interesting," she murmured, "seeing as how death is considered the last great mercy. Tell me, how is it that you could be less merciful than death?" She didn't sound like she was teasing anymore - she sounded honestly fascinated.
She thought she heard, very distantly, her brother's voice. Yeah, well, you should have thought of that before you got yourself shot or knifed or whatever it is you did, she fired back irritably.

Vix's laughter was clear and sounded like a ghost from the past, the woman she'd been twenty years ago abruptly returning to the fore. "Well, then. You make it sound so appealing - how can I refuse?"
She drew her sword and turned to the battle at hand.

Kirra looked down at Lexi as she contradicted herself in meaning, she shrugged it off and said, "I am less merciful than death by keeping someone alive, and in pain, never letting them black out from the pain, sometimes letting them heal, showing them a hint of freedom, before taking it away from them."

Leon smiled at his wife he sheathed his blade the voice of the past in his wife returning he smiled even she secretly missed the fights of the old.
Alex looked at Naomi and said "that counter over there" he pointed to the one his mother mentioned and then said 'it was an accident i was coming to help dad please don't be mad'
Maverick smiled and said "the children on great legends live here they would make great additions to my army" he said and he looked down at her "you'd make a good addition too nice to look at then after the battles another battle in the bedroom" ((wat a creep thats it -takes kira's scythe- you'll get this back maverick! say good by to your crotch!))

Alexa smiled secretly. "Don't suppose you've ever caught yourself a masochist before, then, have you?" she said lightly, abruptly back in a teasing mood. "You'd learn quick that that's not always so bad."
She'd wondered if Kirra would catch the difference between her own feelings on death and that of people in general. People in general called it a mercy. She thought of it as a monster - the one thing that could destroy everything she wanted, prevent all she was working towards.
When she heard her brother's voice again, she hissed, Stop talking to me. Stop it. I don't want to hear it. Her 'good twin' was rising up painfully now, however hard she tried to push it away.

Vix's little smile was still there as she vanished into the battle before them, back to a life she remembered as easily as breathing. This had been her world for over half her life - she would not forget so easily.

As the men exchanged names, and elderly man walked out with a crutch. He looked extremely weak, but a strange sense of power eminated from the man. "Hello, my name is Mivlet, I am the father of these two young men." Mivlet then held out his feeble looking hand, it was glowing with an unusual brightness, despight the man's dark skin tone.

((aww alexa does care..somewhere deep deep down in her XP and uhh but its good roleplaying if not creepy god i created a monster!!!)) Alex sighed and said to his sister 'fine i'm sorry sis uhm...take care of yourself i'll' he swallowed hard 'i'll keep mom and dad on the wrong trail...if you want'
Leon followed behind his wife he waited for the healing of Mathias to finish so he could actually partake in some action

{lol Silver, just point Kirra at Maverick and he'll lose more than his crotch, he'll lose an eye, an arm, maybe a lung if Kirra can extract it before he dies}
Kirra shook her head in a negative and said, "Never, but in general I dislike death, it seems too much of a mercy, a reward if you will, to bestow upon those that have not completely angered you, It should be something that all fear, because of eternal torment that lies afterwards."

Alexa felt mostly annoyed, but also vaguely sorry for her brother. As if, she retorted. You couldn't lie to Mother and Dad if my life depended on it. They won't find me, Alex. Just make them accept that I'm gone. And let me be.
Returning her attention to Kirra, Alexa grew sombre again. "No," she said quietly. "Death isn't always a reward." She shook her head. "There's so much I want to do, so much I feel I have to do before that day comes. If I were to die now, it would be more a punishment than you could believe," she said, unusually serious. Then she seemed to forget the whole thought and smiled lightly. "And that's why we're off to see the wizard-- well, that is, the spells for immortality."

Kirra chuckled darkly and said, "Yes, off to see the wizard." Then she looked up at their path as they ran through a village. She dodged everything in her path, not slowing at all.

Alexa gave a small, wry smile. Glad though she was that Kirra hadn't felt the need to continue on the path she'd unintentionally pointed out, she also didn't know what else to say. She realized with a small start that she was tired. More tired than she'd felt in ages.
With only a brief minute or two of wondering if Kirra had set this up somehow, her eyes closed slowly and she relaxed - not quite sleeping, but unable to remain fully awake.

She was still exhausted and knew how pathetically pale and fragile she had to look, but didn't care. It would come back after a bit. She gave Mathias another, slightly more wicked grin. "And since we're apparently stuck here forever, that's a long time."
She'd brought nothing in the way of weaponry, as she'd only come to intercede between her daughter and her husband, but that wasn't a problem. Weapons had never been a particular strong point of hers, anyway.

Aura gave Artemis a funny look as she carefully withdrew her hand. "Einon, shut up," she told her brother teasingly. "Just because you don't know how to be nice to women." Then she nodded at a chair. "Feel free to sit, if you want. I..." She glanced at Einon. "I need to go back to the city. What I went for...it didn't get done."

Aura pushed her hair back and muttered a little curse, annoyed despite herself. Then the voice spoke up, reassuring.
(it's all right now Aura he's okay)
Thankfully, she relaxed. Then she frowned. "Why on earth would Mom make a shield like that? I'd have thought she'd make sure nothing could get out or in. But I guess she doesn't want us to feel completely helpless..." she mused. Looking up at Artemis, she asked, "How did you get here? Where did Dad know you from?"

Engela glanced up at the soldiers. Her smile was slow and dangerous. "It's been a while," she said softly. "I've been waiting."
She took her time choosing just the thread of the currents that she wanted to use. It would hurt. Oh yes, it would. They would be sorry they'd followed their leader here.
Smiling still, she unleashed that thin thread among the soldiers, letting it wind as it would. She had to leave enough for Mathias, after all.

Mathias chuckled, feeling the subtle shifts and pulls Engela was making. Having spent 20 years with her, he had learned to feel how she used her powers. He was never able to use them or anything, and had very little that could defend against them back when they were enemies, but now that they were married, he had been watching. He smirked when he felt what she was doing. Whispering to her, Mathias said: "Oh Engela. You are so bad!" He laughed and shadow ran to the soldiers, cutting a pair of them completely in half. One of them got a lucky swipe at Mathias and cut his chest, but Mathias reached out with his hand and ripped the soldiers heart out. ((LOVE that move, from Queen of the Damned, DEFINATELY should watch the movie)) Mathias was stalking around the group, making sure they all stayed within the field of Engela's thread until it was time.
Einon shrugged. "Well, I'm guessing the shield will stop spells, but it didn't stop you from coming in. And I'm going to assume it won't stop mom and dad from coming back." He created a shadowball, tossing it back and forth in his hands.
Artemis smiled. "I'm a Water Elemental mage." Picking up his staff, he created his iceboard again and smirked as it rose up on a wave. "I had gone with Alex and his father to meet your dad when we attacked those camps."
