It hit, there was a cry, and he collapsed to the ground ahead of them around a corner. Well, it sounded like it.
Of course, the wisdom of rushing a man who had probably turned around was debatable.
On the other hand, they were already running.

Haha. It seems my plan to come down to Cali and rape hang out with you guys would destroy the Earth. Pity, I was supposed to fly down over the summer anyways.
And hey, I'm not stalkerish! I just like to get to know the people I RP with, it makes it more realistic. And more fun. I mean, look at the dynamics of our group! We can get away with s**t that other people can't, because we know each other.

Jack turned the corner first, pointing the SAW down it and spraying at about chest level to make sure Pavel was down. He didn't even bother to look.

He never even got a chance to pull the trigger.
Pavel grabbed the gun by its barrel and ripped it out of Jack's hands. Since Jack was a soldier, an experienced one, this was a testiment to the kind of strength Pavel seemed to have just developed out of nowhere. An observant person might have noticed that Pavel's face seemed to be bulging, that the features weren't quite right. A less observant person, like one who had just turned a corner and had his weapon pulled out of his hands, would not.
Pavel then proceeded to land a serious punch right on Jack's chest. Serious meaning it picked up him and threw him a few feet back. The others, who were running, had no time to stop - Pavel came around the corner and threw his fist again, this time at Jaclyn's face. She had no time to react beyond putting up an arm and deflecting the blow to her forehead instead; she did a half backflip and landed hard on her neck. That would hurt in the morning.
Devin, Lito, and Paul, who were not as close to the wall as Jaclyn or Jack, all had a very, very split second to react, and not enough room between them and the enemy to put rifles up. Maybe a handgun, but they were holding longer weapons than that, and handguns would take time to draw, more than they had.

Lito, who still had his .45 in his hand from the time that Pavel walked right through him on the way out, whipped it up and fired twice.
((Seriously, I'm still confused about how he had gotten past Lito, who had his gun drawn and was standing in the door. But even if that was the case, Lito at least has his gun still in hand.))

((BECAUSE THERE WAS A ******** GRENADE IN HIS ******** HAND, AND LITO COULDN'T JUST IGNORE THAT FACT OR HE RISKED GETTING BLOWN UP. NOBODY WOULD JUST STAND IN FRONT OF A GRENADE. biggrin ))
This worked. Pavel took both shots, dropped, then... what? His foot shot out and knocked Lito and Paul to the ground - Devin, who wasn't firing or... being Paul, I guess, managed to hop over the outstretched leg.

Jaclyn had dropped the stupid 7 mm, and finally had her magnum out; more than that, she was fully determined to use it. She sat up, her face mutinous, and shot at the thing's head until the clip was one away from empty.

Lito, on the ground with the wind knocked out of him, took shaky aim and fired twice more, adding his shots to Jaclyn's at Pavel's head.
