Ryugi Kazamaru Kuroiten ???: "What is going on that the city is sealed so?" Terrorist problems, and now it seems there might be a necromantic hub inside the city somewhere as well. We're sorry, but we can't offer you entrance. You'll have to go elsewhere. The guards still had thier weapons trained on him, but they didn't sound threatening at the moment. One of the man's eyebrows lifts, and a smile appears on his face. ???: "A necromantic hub, you say? I might be able to help you with that." He sets down his bundle before he goes on, one hand massaging his left shoulder once the bundle is on the ground. ???: "As a Templar, I'm bound by oath to destroy any threat to the people, and necromancers are a definite threat to the people."

An alarm went off. Damn! Someone had to go and trigger an alarm now, Lilith scowled in thought, not knowing it was herself that triggered them. She never noticed the detectors around the elevator doors. Nor did she care. She was ethereal. There wasn't much that could affect her in this state. Still, she made all haste toward the cemetary where she'd set up shop before, catching a glimpse of what looked like a swordsman attacking some guards. Thanks for the distraction.

Thanks for the distraction. As she continued to move through the city, the magical alarms kept going off wherever she moved. And as the new set turned on, the old set would turn off, giving the guards an idea of her rough position within the underground... That might prove troublesome...

The alarms kept going off around her, and Lilith realized it was her that they were reacting to. She darted off toward the market area, dropping out of etherealness while going through an alley, and hoping the alarms would drop with them. Coming out into the street, she glanced down one way, then another, then crossed into another alleyway, backtracking around to find her way back to the cemetary.

Kraun So the lightning bolt would rip into the crowd without any warning at all; No static charge in the air of an energy build-up, no somatic hand motions, no incantaions, it was instantaneous, and all he did was continue to take his walk. For those who would survive a direct lightning strike, they'd still have to worry about the ammunition going off and all that jazz.Seven of the guards would be killed outright by the attack and by the rounds going off, but the others survived, including the man in the back where a rock wall would drop from in front of him. As soon as the men got their bearings, they fired the light frounds towards the target. Each round would do explosive light/holy damage to any undead or dark target within a five meter radius from the point of impact, doing massive damage to the man.

The stranger nods.
???: "I understand."
With that, he collapses into a sitting position next to his bundle, angling his sword so the pommel doesn't dig into his side.
???: "I'll just wait here until your orders change, then."

Thats the one thats been causing all the alarms to go off! FIRE!!Several guards had been chasing the alarms through the city, but since she was invisible, they had no way of dealing with her. Once she became visable, THAT was a different story. A barrage of light rounds would speed down the alleyway aiming to hit her. They'd react to darkness if they hit her, and explode with a radius of five meters from the point of impact.

Actually, she was on another plane, but no matter. Lilith glanced over her shoulder, seeing the guards raising their guns, then darted quickly into the alley, her elven agility getting her past the initial shots fired. Rolling into the alley, she touched her hand on the ground and cast a darkness spell, before getting back on her feet and running off again. Quote: Darkness Evocation [Darkness] Level: Brd 2, Clr 2, Sor/Wiz 2 Components: V, M/DF Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: Touch Target: Object touched Duration: 10 min./level (D) Saving Throw: None Spell Resistance: No
This spell causes an object to radiate shadowy illumination out to a 20-foot radius. All creatures in the area gain concealment (20% miss chance). Even creatures that can normally see in such conditions (such as with darkvision or low-light vision) have the miss chance in an area shrouded in magical darkness.
Normal lights (torches, candles, lanterns, and so forth) are incapable of brightening the area, as are light spells of lower level. Higher level light spells are not affected by darkness.
If darkness is cast on a small object that is then placed inside or under a lightproof covering, the spell’s effect is blocked until the covering is removed.
Darkness counters or dispels any light spell of equal or lower spell level. The alarms were no longer going off, telling Lilith that it must detect only magic activity. That meant she'd be on her own for a while. Time to use those skills she learned growing up to good use.

Well, he was expecting the rifles to go off with the electrical discharge, and considering that they would have probably been pointing at him at the moment, he would already have an action prepared for that little event happening. A giant metal wall sprang up in front of the soldiers from the ground as soon as the lightning had gone off, effectively protecting himself from the aftereffects of the lightning bolt. Fifth Level Wall of Iron When this spell is cast, the wizard causes a vertical iron wall to spring into being. This wall can be used to seal off a passage or close a breach, for the wall inserts itself into any surrounding nonliving material if its area is sufficient to do so. The wall of iron is ¼-inch thick per level of experience of the spellcaster. The wizard is able to create an iron wall of up to 15 square feet per experience level; thus, a 12th-level wizard can create a wall of iron with an area of 180 square feet. The wizard can double the wall's area by halving its thickness. If the caster desires, the wall can be created vertically resting on a flat surface, so that it can be tipped over to fall on and crush any creature beneath it. It has a 50% chance of falling either direction. The wall is permanent, unless successfully dispelled, but it is subject to all forces a normal iron wall is subject to--rust, perforation, etc. Perhaps the ammunition would ricochet off the large metal wall and hit something else, maybe rebound back to hit another soldier from an angle. And ways, that wasnt really important. Because the wall was moving anyways. It teetered one way, then back, and then it fell, either ontop of the soldiers (1-50), or onto Decruda (51-100). ((*Continueation pending on number. Final Result: 85)) **Continueation: Too bad the soldiers were not crushed. And then the wall came down, smashing anything on the street underneath it. And then the soldiers would once again be struck by lightning. Why? Because Decruda had moved. Seventh Level Shadow Walk In order to use the shadow walk spell, the wizard must be in an area of heavy shadows. The caster and any creature he touches are then transported to the edge of the Prime Material Plane where it borders the Demiplane of Shadow. In this region, the wizard can move at a rate of up to 7 miles per turn, moving normally on the borders of the Demiplane of Shadow but much more rapidly relative to the Prime Material Plane. Thus, a wizard can use this spell to travel rapidly by stepping onto the Demiplane of Shadow, moving the desired distance, and then stepping back onto the Prime Material Plane. The wizard knows where he will come out on the Prime Material Plane. The shadow walk spell can also be used to travel to other planes that border on the Demiplane of Shadow, but this requires the potentially perilous transit of the Demiplane of Shadow to arrive at a border with another plane of reality. Any creatures touched by the wizard when shadow walk is cast also make the transition to the borders of the Demiplane of Shadow. They may opt to follow the wizard, wander off through the plane, or stumble back into the Prime Material Plane (50% chance for either result if they are lost or abandoned by the wizard). Creatures unwilling to accompany the wizard into the Demiplane of Shadow may attempt to resist, negating the effect if successful. When the wall came down, Decruda disappeared underneath its massive shadow, and appeared off in one of the dark alleyways to the side. And as soon as he reappeared into the prime material, well, lightning ripped into the crowd once again. Time to use those skills she learned growing up to good use. The guards floundered in the darkness before simply backing off. The leader let loose with a report. "Attention all units, be on the lookout for a female drow. She is fully capable of using magical abilities and is very agile. Last seen in the marketplace sector. Over and Out."All the guards could do now was tighten patrols and keep a lookout for any other problems that might arise.

Lilith kept to the shadows, creeping from one alley to the next, hiding behind anything available when she heard the heavy footsteps of guards approaching. Though she hadn't had need to use stealth and sneakiness since she was a child, it came back to her like riding a bicycle. Now all she needed was another distraction so she could make it the rest of the way to the cemetary and the sanctuary of the shrine, which unfortunately involved crossing a lot of open ground.

Kraun When the wall came down, Decruda disappeared underneath its massive shadow, and appeared off in one of the dark alleyways to the side. And as soon as he reappeared into the prime material, well, lightning ripped into the crowd once again. Five more guards would fall to the lighting bolt this time, and more of the light rounds would speed towards Decruda. Let us not misunderstand that these were, first and foremost, bullets, and as thus, they traveled as fast as your average machine gun rounds, just with the light blasting effects. However, this time, something different would happen. As Decruda came back onto the material plane and touched ground, the rock about his feet would swarm up and clamp over his feet, holding him in place as the light rounds would tear into him. Now, which would move faster, bullets traveling over the speed of sound to a target withing meters of their initial firing, or the speed of thought, which had to take recognition into effect...

Fourth Level Rary's Mnemonic Enhancer By means of this spell, the wizard is able to memorize, or retain the memory of, three additional spell levels (three 1st-level spells, or one 1st and one 2nd, or one 3rd-level spell). The wizard has two options: A) Memorize additional spells. This option is taken at the time the spell is cast. The additional spells must be memorized normally and any material components must be acquired. B) Retain memory of any spell (within the level limits) cast the round prior to starting to cast this spell. The round after a spell is cast, the enhancer must be successfully cast. This restores the previously cast spell to memory. However, the caster still must acquire any needed material components. The material components of the spell are a piece of string, an ivory plaque of at least 100 gp value, and ink consisting of squid secretion with either black dragon's blood or giant slug digestive juice. These disappear when the spell is cast. Of course, the speed of thought was faster. As soon as Decruda had released his spell and the flash disappeared, he would be gone, once again entering the demiplane of shadow. By that time, when the guards had registered the attack in their minds, or even the direction it came from, they would be too late. And as for the ground wrapping around his legs? It didnt matter, he didnt need to be walking around to shift from one plane to the other; he'd be gone by the time it would have stopped him anyways. Now, Decruda would appear in a different place as the guards fired off into the shadows where he use to be. And then a sticky goop would appear around the soldiers, holding them in place, facing the wrong direction. Second Level Web A web spell creates a many-layered mass of strong, sticky strands similar to spider webs but far larger and tougher. These masses must be anchored to two or more solid and diametrically opposed points--floor and ceiling, opposite walls, etc.--or the web collapses upon itself and disappears. The web spell covers a maximum area of eight 10-foot x 10-foot x 10-foot cubes and the webs must be at least 10 feet thick, so a mass 40 feet high, 20 feet wide, and 10 feet deep may be cast. Creatures caught within webs, or simply touching them, become stuck among the gluey fibers. Moderately strong reatures can break through 1 foot of webs every six seconds. Creatures with great strength can break through 2 feet of webs every 6 seconds. If the webs are at half strength, these rates are doubled. (Great mass equates to great strength in this case, and creatures of large mass hardly notice webs.) Strong and huge creatures can break through 10 feet of webs ever six seconds. Furthermore, the strands of a web spell are flammable. A magical flaming sword can slash them away as easily as a hand brushes away cobwebs. Any fire--torch, flaming oil, flaming sword, etc.--can set them alight and burn them away in a single round. All creatures within flaming webs suffer 2d4 points of damage from the flames, but those free of the strands are not harmed. The material component of this spell is a bit of spider web. So, how many soldiers were left now? 8? Immediately after the web appeared, the soldiers would once again, be lit up. Sixth Level Chain Lightning This spell creates an electrical discharge that begins as a single stroke of lightning, 2½ feet wide, commencing from the fingertips of the caster. Unlike a lightning bolt spell, chain lightning strikes one object or creature initially, then arcs to a series of other objects or creatures within range, losing energy with each jump. After the first strike, the lightning arcs to the next nearest object or creature. Each jump reduces the strength of the lightning by 1/12. The chain can strike as many times (including the first object or creature) as the spellcaster has levels, although each creature or object can be struck only once. Thus, a bolt cast by a 12th-level wizard can strike up to 12 times, causing less damage with each strike. The bolt continues to arc until it has struck the appropriate number of objects or creatures, until it strikes an object that grounds it (interconnecting iron bars of a large cell or cage, a large pool of liquid, etc.), or until there are no more objects or creatures to strike. Direction is not a consideration when plotting chain lightning arcs. Distance is a factor--an arc cannot exceed the spell's range. If the only possible arc is greater than the spell's range, the stroke fades into nothingness. Creatures immune to electrical attack can be struck, even though no damage is taken. Note that it is possible for the chain to arc back to the caster! The material components are a bit of fur, a piece of amber, glass, or crystal rod, and one silver pin for each experience level of the caster. And one by one, and electrical bolt would jump from each guard to the next, frying them. Unlike the lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning was nat manually targetted, it was automatic, and each guard will get their share of electricity. With the initial two bolts of electricity ripping into the crowd, plus a third direct personnel targetting bolt of electricity, the guards probably should have their nerves wracked to a point where they'd find if hard to move and maybe some burnt skin. Anyways, it wouldnt matter, because if they didnt get electrical burns, they'd be flash fried. Third Level Fireball A fireball is an explosive burst of flame, which detonates with a low roar and delivers damage proportional to the level of the wizard who cast it. The burst of the fireball creates little pressure and generally conforms to the shape of the area in which it occurs. The fireball fills an area equal to its normal spherical volume (roughly 33,000 cubic feet--thirty-three 10-foot x 10-foot x 10-foot cubes). Besides causing damage to creatures, the fireball ignites all combustible materials within its burst radius, and the heat of the fireball melts soft metals such as gold, copper, silver, etc. The wizard points his finger and speaks the range (distance and height) at which the fireball is to burst. A streak flashes from the pointing digit and, unless it impacts upon a material body or solid barrier prior to attaining the prescribed range, blossoms into the fireball (an early impact results in an early detonation). The material component of this spell is a tiny ball of bat guano and sulphur. And so, if they survived the chain lightning, they'd be cooked alive a second later, the entire area lighting up with the blazing webs. Quote: Prepared Spells First Level - 5: Grease, Jump, Shocking Grasp, Magic Missile, Light Second Level - 5: Web, Blur, Strength, Ray of Enfeeblement, Melf’s Acid Arrow Third Level - 5: Lightning Bolt, *Lightning Bolt, Lightning Bolt, Fireball, Dispel Magic Fourth Level - 5: *Rary's Mnemonic Enhancer, Rary's Mnemonic Enhancer, Acidic Shield, Stone Skin, Dimension Door Fifth Level - 4: Wall of Iron, Telekinesis, Wall of Force, Cone of Cold Sixth Level - 3: Stone to Flesh, Chain Lightning, Monster Summoning IV Seventh Level - 2: Shadow Walk, Limited WishEighth Level - 1: Lava Wyrm

Kraun Of course, the speed of thought was faster. Now, Decruda would appear in a different place... And an explosion of a strange energy would rip through the battlegroup. It would seem that as Decruda appeared, he had stepped on the ground right above an MDM. Quote: Magic Diffusion Mines (MDM’s)- These mines are set throughout the city in many places both above and below ground. When activated, they explode, sending out a field of energy referred to as an “Anti Magical Pulse”, or AMP. This field effectively neutralizes any magical energy in the air and prevents any magical flow whatsoever within affected individuals for up to ten hours, but no less than eight. The field works by distorting the delicate web of magical planes and energies that normally flow through an area and allow a person or individual to use their magical powers. The distortion backs up the delicate flow and prevents the magic from being used for the set amount of time. The explosion does no harm to any non-magical entity, however, a being using magical energy to attack, or a being using magic to keep themselves alive or sustain themselves can be seriously damaged as the backed up magic can cause serious injuries to the body’s systems. Undead creatures, having used unholy magic to remain among the living, are instantly dispelled and killed by these mines and become nothing more than a normal corpse. The mines also prevent any magically enhanced abilities from being used for the time the user is affected by the blast. Any unaffected entities moving into the area of the blast will still have full use of their abilities, allowing for use of SPR rounds on targets upon arrival of backup. If Decruda somehow managed to escape his death, he'd still be unable to make use of anymore of his spells for up to ten hours. This is patrol group Gamma, we're under attack and taking heavy losses in the cemetary sector! Requesting backup!
